Jim Cornette's Opinion On WWE's Deal With FOX.

Jim Cornette recently appeared on Talk Is Jericho about the state of wrestling ( Click here to listen and download the whole thing, it's really good) and talked about a number of topics but the interesting thing about this discussion is his opinion on WWE's deal with FOX. Here's what he had to say (shout out to WrestleZone for the transcript):  " Vince just got $2 billion for a TV deal. People are looking at All In, the resurgence of New Japan, and all that, but that’s going to be the most important thing. Now people with platforms are interested in wrestling again.  There’s a lot of money in wrestling again. For a while ratings were meh, and they still are, but at the same point $2 billion, how can you argue with that? In 2011, when Sinclair Broadcasting bought Ring of Honor it instantly became the second most watched television program because it was on 60 local stations.  That was still a wide gap from WWE, and IMPACT has gone in the other direction becaus

Top 7 Best WWE TV Matches of 2018.

Whether RAW, Smackdown Live, 205 Live or NXT were enjoyable or not in 2018, those shows did gave us some of the best matches on free TV and I’m gonna rank 7 of the best WWE TV matches. Keep in mind that this countdown is based on opinions only.  7. Rey Mysterio vs Andrade “Cien” Almas | Smackdown Live Nov. 6th Episode.  Even though Rey Mysterio right now has been doing alright since returning and staying on the Smackdown Live roster permanently two months ago, there’s no denying that he still can deliver a classic and this one was no exception.  Andrade however, hasn’t been in a major feud for several months now but that doesn’t mean that when he is on a match, he can’t give us a classic either.  Great spots and near falls, this match could do no wrong except the finish and that’s why this match was lower on the list. Let’s hope that 2019 is Andrade’s year to shine.  6. The New Day vs The Bar and The Miz | S mackdown Live May 29th Episode.   While WWE tends to shove 6 ma

WWE Eyeing On New Creative Writers.

Last week on RAW, The McMahon family announced that there will be new faces and fresh match ups. What better way to invoke change than to seek out new writers with different ideas right?  WWE are actively seeking for new writer's assistant positions with at least two years in writing television and or/ production experience and preferably but not necessary, a degree in Film/TV/Drama, Media Studies, Journalism, Communications, English, or related field of study.  For everyone who thinks they can do it better, here's your opportunity. Merry Christmas! https://t.co/FJch1rOXCM — Jimmy Korderas (@jimmykorderas) December 24, 2018 What do I think of this? As long as Vince is in charge, unfortunately, nothing is going to change for the better of the product but that's just me.  Let me know in the comments on how you would change the WWE product and follow the blog for honest pro wrestling opinions. Anyways, stay safe smarks.

WWE Smackdown Live 18/12/18 | My Coherent Review.

Smackdown Live was a decent show that did an okay job to build for next week's episode. Why you ask? Well, I’m gonna tell you what’s good, what’s okay and what’s bad. Here we go.  WHAT'S GOOD Daniel Bryan and Andrade “Cien” Almas vs AJ Styles and Mustafa Ali  Before this, Daniel cut a promo on how people are destroying the environment every day and how Fresno, California ranks number 1 in pollution which led to Daniel shouting “SHAME, SHAME, SHAME”. The match itself was good and it was a good way to end this episode of Smackdown Live.  The team of AJ Styles and Mustafa Ali won the match with Mustafa delivered the 054 to Daniel Bryan which I don’t know if it’s just me but this felt like it was no accident when Ali pinned Bryan. Hopefully, this leads to something great for Mustafa Ali.  WHAT’S OK Becky Lynch Speaks About Her Loss  First off, Paige gone as GM is a huge mistake considering that she’s one of the best things on Smackdown Live but it is somew

WWE RAW 17/12/18 | My Coherent Review.

While it was overall a mediocre show, it was at least a bit better than the previous RAWs but that's not saying much in my opinion. Why you ask? Well, usually on my reviews, I give my thoughts on what's good, what's ok and what bad. However, I'm only gonna tell you what's ok and what's bad for this review because like I said earlier, this show was mediocre.  Without further ado, on with the review.  WHAT’S BAD Well. Vince McMahon Returned And…….. This segment was worth a YouTube video and not on prime time television. They brought Vince McMahon and this is the best they got?  This led to a Kurt Angle facing Baron Corbin and after the commercial break, Triple H announced that this match is a handicap match which led to Bobby Roode, Chad Gable and Apollo Crews come out. Shane came out and announced that this match has no DQ rules. The babyfaces won the match and then they put Corbin through a table.  This pissed me off for reasons such as it’s

WWE TLC 2018 | My Coherent Review.

TLC 2018 exceeded my expectations a bit in terms of how the show was like overall. In other words, it was decent but it was not a home run obviously. Now, Unfortunately, I didn't get to see the cruiserweight championship match between Buddy Murphy and Cedric Alexander but what I did see is everything after that. Without further ado, on with the review.   PRE SHOW: Elias vs Bobby Lashley  Well, that was a waste of time. Elias won the match. After the match, Bobby Lashley hit Elias with a guitar and Bobby along with Lio Rush stood tall. Thank God it was on the preshow.  MAIN SHOW: Mahalica vs Fabulous Truth  It’s either R Truth and Carmella or Jinder Mahal and Alicia Fox are going to get the 30 spot in the Royal Rumble match and the winner is The Fabulous Truth.  After the match, Kayla Braxton asked where are they going to spend their vacation to which Truth answered by saying that the Fabulous Truth are going to WWE Headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut which made me

The 5 News Week: WWE Planned Something Big To Improve Rating in January!?, Quick TLC Predictions.

Hello, my fellow wrestling fans and welcome to the 5 news week. The post where I report 5 major or minor news of the week that I don't have time to do it separately. Without further ado, here are the 5 news week.  WWE Planned Something Big To Improve Rating in January!? Monday Night RAW for weeks has been consistently getting record low TV ratings and according to a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Live , Bryan Alvarez mentioned that WWE has a big plan to turn the ratings around in January of next year. Here's what he had to say (Shout out to Ringside News for the transcript):  “For those of you who hate Raw, all I’m going to do is tell you that the belief within WWE is that — take this for what it’s worth — they believe it is all turning around in January. Apparently, they have some sort of idea and they think it’s all turning around in January and that the ratings in January are going to be good again. The show is going to be better and something big is going to

Finn Balor Is Indeed Out Of Action.

A couple of days ago, WWE announced that Finn Balor suffered an injury and didn't specify on what the injury was. His last match, by the way, was a triple threat match at a house show last Wednesday in Santiago, Chile against Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre to which McIntrye won.  It turns out that Finn wasn't dealing with an injury at all, at least according to Mike Johnson over at  PWinsider . Instead, Balor is dealing with an illness and couldn't continue the Latin America tour. Finn is also unable to compete on the Mixed Match Challenge, replacing him with Apollo Crews. But the powers that be believe that he's 100% ready for TLC next week. Here's what he had to say about that via Twitter:  I am sorry I could not preform in #WWEBuenosAires Lo siento no pude competir en #WWEBuenosAires — Finn Bálor forEVERYone (@FinnBalor) December 7, 2018   I wish him nothing but a speedy recovery.  By the way, I report on the 5 major or minor news of the week in on

The 5 News Week: WWE Planning For A Queen Of The Ring Tournament Next Year? Vince McMahon Loves Corbin As Acting GM Of RAW.

Hello, my fellow wrestling fans and welcome to the 5 news week. The post where I report 5 major or minor news of the week that I don't have time to do it separately. Without further ado, here are the 5 news week.  WWE Planning For A Queen Of The Ring Tournament Next Year? According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter , WWE are pitching ideas for a possible Queen Of The Ring tournament next year. WWE hasn't done a King Of The Ring tournament since 2015 so it will be interesting on how they'll approach it if the idea turns into a reality.  HBO Coming Out With A Kenny Omega Documentary In 2019 Well, a Canadian musician Joseph Shabason did an interview with the Kreative Kontrol podcast with Vish Khanna and he talked about his involvement in a Kenny Omega documentary that's coming out in 2019 and here's what he had to say (transcript via wrestling news source ):  "I just finished a documentary about a wrestler. That’s going to be coming out on HBO in

WWE Smackdown Live 4/12/18 | My Coherent Review

Smackdown Live last night was okay that did a decent job to build of TLC. Why you ask? Well usually on my RAW and Smackdown reviews, I tell you what's good, what's okay and what's bad. Because the show was decent, I'm only gonna tell you what's good and what's okay. Without further ado, on with the review.  WHAT'S GOOD Daniel Bryan So Far As A Heel  I know this heel character by Daniel Bryan has been around for a couple of weeks now and I wasn't really a fan of the heel turn initially but with that being said, I love this new, dangerous, psychotic heel Daniel Bryan and I could argue that he's more psychotic than Dean Ambrose. In other words, Daniel is a better portraying a lunatic than Dean.   WHAT'S OK The Women's Triple Treat TLC Match Contract Signing  The show started off with all three women explaining their reasons as to why they will win the match at TLC. After that, Becky signed the contract and left the ring whil

WWE RAW 3/12/18 | My Coherent Review

It's December everyone and RAW is still awful. Now usually on my reviews, I tell you what's good, what's okay and what's bad. For the first time since I started reviewing Monday Night RAW back in June, I'm going to put every segment and every match on what's bad for obvious reasons. Here we go.  WHAT'S BAD   The opening match of the night The purpose of an opening match is to build excitement for the rest of the show but this did the opposite. I appreciate WWE for going straight to a match instead of a boring, generic and downright formulaic (in a bad way) opening segment but the execution was pretty bad.  This was supposed to be a tag match between Ronda and Natalya vs Nia Jax and Tamina but instead, the Riott Squad came out and they put Natalya through a table on the outside.  Sasha Banks and Bayley vs Mickie James and Alicia Fox What can I say? This was a skippable match. Mickie was going for her DDT finish but instead, Sasha tagged Ba
