WWE RAW 29/11/21 | A Coherent Review.

This was an eventful episode of Monday Night RAW, a few of which for the wrong reasons.  That's it. That's the intro. Images via WWE.com   Seth Rollins vs Finn Balor.  Before the match, Rollins glowed about the WWE championship match at *sigh* Day One (for real, y'all can't bring back New Year's Resolution?)  Side note, I can't help but look at how much of an afterthought Finn Balor is. He's literally replaced Ricochet's role on RAW as being kind there.  I will say, the match was good though. "I didn't realize I almost quoted Fred Hampton with the revolutionary line" Seth Rollins wins with the stomp.  Becky Lynch And Liv Morgan Contract Signing.  This entire segment revolved around Becky Lynch wanting Morgan to have a chip on her shoulder and Liv told Becky to shut up for once (I, for one, also love telling Beckys to shut up).  And then it went South as Liv Morgan brought up how if it wasn't for her greedy contract, her friends would st

WWE Smackdown 26/11/21 | A Coherent Review.

This episode of Smackdown is a great example of the words, "unnoteworthy" and "skip that sh*t" because damn, nothing actually happened here.   Images via WWE.com   Roman Was Like, "Rumours Give Losers False Hope".  That statement above didn't make it clear whether it's about his next challenger or the fact that he's talking sh*t about the folks that wanted all three spidermen in the upcoming No Way Home movie.  A pretty minimal opening segment that wasn't too noteworthy but it did solidify the effectiveness of Roman's words.  Drew McIntyre And Jeff Hardy vs Happy Corbin And Madcap Moss.  Speaking of things that aren't noteworthy. The good guys won. Cool.  Ridge Holland vs Cesaro.  Nothing screams WWE writing than some good old fashioned 50/50 booking. I will say, those two guys so far, have pretty good chemistry as seen by a good bout. Cesaro won with a roll-up (aka the most protective move in all of professional wrestling).  Rick B

The Coherent Wrestling Week: A DISAPPOINTING War Games Line up!?

NXT and AEW are going head to head once again…………. In a recap that averages the same as NXT's in the sense that the numbers are low and nobody really gives a sh*t.  But, it was just an excuse to briefly note about NXT and AEW Dynamite since I haven't seen AEW Rampage as of writing this.  And well, Dynamite was by far the better show out of the two.  NXT has become a hit or miss show ever since its relaunch a few months ago which hasn't been this way even as recently as this past April.  NXT   Highlights.  Cameron Grimes Goes Off About Duke Hudson.  The promo pretty much sounded like this, "I may be a rich Redneck from bumf**k town in the South but I never forgot where I came from."  All lame jokes aside, this was by far, the best thing about this episode and it hints at a potential big babyface character in the future (that is if WWE can do it properly) because his entire dialogue showed his humbleness as someone who understood what it's like to struggle.  Oh,

WWE RAW 22/11/21 | A Coherent Review.

Monday Night RAW was, like last night's Survivor Series PPV, pretty f'ing skippable.  Images via WWE.com   The entire narrative of this episode revolves around Vince McMahon's egg which sounds so weird to say out of context.  So, who stole that egg? Well, thanks to Sami Zayn's "sources", the person that took The Rock's golden egg (again, so odd to say it without context) from the Netflix film, Red Notice is Austin Theory and he got a WWE championship opportunity later in the episode. I do agree with Vince McMahon. No one likes a snitch.  Looking at you, SEAN. ROSS. SAPP or any other wrestling journalist!  Big E and Austin Theory did deliver a decent match and it ended with Big E retaining the championship due to the good old distraction finish from Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens arguing on the outside which sidelined Austin Theory.  It led to a good old brawl between Seth and Big E while Kevin Owens somehow didn't get involved in all of that. Nothing to

Few News I Guess: Brief Thoughts On Survivor Series 2021.

Since last week's news were as slow as……………. That's actually a lie considering the unfortunate mass release and the fact that my mental health has been through the roof for the past couple of days (thanks random anxiety attacks, appreciate it).  One Image via WWE.com Some NXT Superstars Getting NAME Changes!?  Trademarking their names only to let them go mere months later. Yay!  Anywho, here are the name changes for some of the NXT wrestlers/other talents (from PWInsider): Mei Ying aka Wendy Choo.  Kellie Morgan aka Mila Malani. Aja Smith aka Daphne Lashaunn.  DA Brewer aka Dallas Irvin.  Tom Castor aka Derek Sanders. Cooooooool.  WWE's Mexico Office Going To CLOSE??  Yes, people. Like any other exploitative multinational corporation, WWE has an office base in Mexico specifically in the country's capital, Mexico City which was opened in the early 00s.  A report was published by the city's metropolitan site Periódico Correo regarding WWE shutting down their office ov

WWE NXT 2.0 16/11/21 | A Coherent Review.

I haven't reviewed NXT in two weeks and holy crap, I didn't miss much at all.  This week's show was BO. RING and I'm trying to make this interesting by adding my lame a** humour and you know you f'd up when I have to rely on my jokes to make this week's NXT discussion somewhat engaging.  Images via WWE.com   Tony D'Angelo vs Dexter Lumis.  The scary white man vs The spicy white man. WHO WILL SURVIVE!?  The answer is my favourite POC wrestler currently, Tony D'Angelo (that joke will never get old).  Johnny Gargano came to check on Dexter Lumis after Camelo Hayes and Trick Williams destroyed Lumis' hand.  Minutes later, all three guys in Dunne, Gargano and Hayes announced a triple threat match for the North American championship.  Should be a good match, is all I'm going to say about that.  Odyssey Jones And Jacket Time vs The Diamond Mine.  First off, Jacket time isn't a good tag team name. It sounds like me as a 5-year-old after wearing a lon

WWE RAW 16/11/21 | A Coherent Review.

The reign of good Monday Night RAWs has kinda come to an end?  While it wasn't the most offensive thing I've seen since Randy Orton vomiting out badly burned hot choco, I thought this week's RAW was just there. Nothing really of substance happened here.  Image via WWE.com Kevin Owens Explains His Reasoning For Beating Up Big E.  After Kevin Owens basically said that he's tired of being humble and lowkey, Big E took a beating from The Usos and Riddle came to the big man's rescue which led to a tag team match because that's what you do after seeing multiple people fighting apparently.  During the tag team match, shenanigans happened with Big E and Sethy Rollings and Randal Keith showed up to help his tag team partner, Riddle which led to a 6 man tag team match because apparently somebody asked for a sequel?  Finally, after several and several minutes of stretching something that should've lasted 15 minutes at the very least, we got a clean victory from the hee

AEW Full Gear 2021 | A Coherent Review.

Apologies to my 4 viewers that this review is shorter than the last time I did an AEW PPV review which was Revolution (big f**king yikes, Omar. Fake wrestling fan).  It's just that TK is killing me with the 4 hour long PPVs but at this point, my complaints on how long the show would last are getting old so let's get into how this show ABSOLUTELY F'ING RULED LIKE A MONARCH! (For the most part because nothing is perfect).  MJF vs Darby Allin.  While I believe MJF's character is a walking dummies article on how to be a heel, the guy can wrestle his a** off as seen by the opening contest with Darby Allin.  MJF made my favourite wrestling bruf William Regal proud due to the fact that he used the brass knuckles to win the match.  Where does Maxwell go from here? I can't believe I'm saying this but I could see him wrestling Sting and the worst part about this statement is that I wouldn't mind it. 2019 me would've slapped the sh*t out of 2021 me.  The Lucha Brot

WWE Smackdown 12/11/21 | A Coherent Review.

While there were a few redeeming qualities about this week's episode of Smackdown, the show as a whole was kinda bleh to me. Images via WWE.com   Chaos Ensued Amongst The SmackDown Women's Survivor Series Team.  Sonya Deville introduced the participants in the women's Smackdown Survivor Series team to which a brawl ensued after Sasha Banks wanted to beat up Shotzi. Naomi came out to even the odds between the heels and the babyfaces in that scene.  And you know what all of that means? A 6 women tag team match, Playas. By far, the most impressive person in this match was Naomi. The finesse she showed with her series of kicks was *chefs kiss*.  Speaking of impressive, the crowd was BEHIND Aliyah and that's cool. Naomi's assistance led to Aliyah pinning Natalya to win the entire match. I said "Naomi's assistance" for a reason because as soon as that victory, Aliyah was taken out of the Survivor Series team.  God damn, Sonya Deville legit hates POCs succeed

THE Coherent AEW Take: Christian Dior, Dior. Eddie Kingston up in all the stores!

Ever since AEW Dynamite was on Saturday night for a bit, I've been WAY behind on AEW content so excuse my ignorance. And It's Full Gear weekend which means another PPV that would last longer than the Snyder cut.  Sheeit, I'll bet the collar and elbow hold alone from the Hangman Page and Kenny Omega championship match, is longer than the entire Queen's Crown tournament.  As far as how I feel about both programs this week, well.  They did an okay job on building towards the final AEW PPV of the year this Saturday. Rampage.   Highlights.  Bryan Danielson vs Anthony Bowens.  And no, the highlight doesn't include Max Caster's verses. I'll rather listen to f**king Riff Raff than Max Caster's dig on anything.  The worst part, people are probably going to look at this and say, "can't wait for a Max Caster's appearance on Wild 'N Out!"  With that being said, this opening match was good. Danielson wins with the rebel lock.  Eddie Kingston (wi

WWE RAW 8/11/21 | A Coherent Review.

I've enjoyed Monday Night RAW as of late and if I've read that sentence as recent as a few months ago, I would probably call it "blasphemous".  The question is, did this episode continue its process of good episodes? The answer is yes. This episode was actually good if not great.   Images via WWE.com   Seth Rollins Was Like, "I Know Kevin Owens Is A POS"  The headline above pretty much described the entire in-ring promo segment from Drippy Jesus other than the backstage segment in which Kevin convinces Big Cocoa Butter Rubber E that he isn't the guy he used to be.  And Rollins ran as soon as Kevin Owens showed up. Before the main event match happened, Rollins "came clean" to Big E saying that what happened last week was a plan being set up by himself and Owens. After a good back and forth between those two men, the accidental collision between Kevin Owens and Big E, led to a count-out loss for the prizefighter.  And then, Kevin followed Shotzi
