WWE NXT 27/7/21 | A Coherent Review.

NXT this week was a good show. It's just that it isn't as good as the previous ones.  Images via WWE.com Samoa Joe Requested 3 Things From William Regal.  In this segment, Samoa Joe was like, "Regal, sign these 3 contracts. One, I leave NXT management. Two, I join the NXT roster once again and three, I face Karrion Kross for the NXT championship at NXT Takeover: 36".  And the GM replied with a, "fine". I mean, this is an outcome that pretty much everyone saw coming and I'm fine with it.  Joe coming back to the squared circle is probably the most intriguing part about this whole thing.  In other words, Karrion Kross is getting a demotion in officially joining the main roster after Takeover: 36. Tommaso Ciampa And Timothy Thatcher vs Pete Dunne And Oney Lorcan.  A fine match for what it was. The bad guys picked up the clean victory to which the returning Ridge Holland showed up and literally took out both Ciampa and Thatcher with a shoulder tackle like it&

Recapping Jim Johnston's First Work In WWE.

We've all heard of the saying of "music brings joy in us". While it is a cheese pizza saying, the statement is 100% true especially in my case. One of my earliest childhood memories involved my parents playing 90s RnB and Hip Hop music on the car radio. After my wrestling fandom kicked in, I furthered my taste in music by listening to rock/heavy metal as well as some electronic dance music or EDM. Needless to say, I love music and professional wrestling has been incorporating music into their characters and shows for what feels like an eternity.  Now, music wasn't part of the pro wrestling mystic until the 1950s hit where Mildred Burke utilized music in her entrance. The same practice was also executed in the same decade by Gorgeous Geroge.  The 1970s was a period of time where a few pro wrestlers gave their shot as a musician.  "Classy" Freddie Blassie released an album in 1977 called "Blassie, King Of Men". The album utilized his promo mic skills

A Few News I Guess: Buddy Murphy Being Looked At By AEW!?

Since this week's news was dominated by some dudes named Phil Brooks and Bryan Danielson, I decided to deliver my 3 viewers here a few news, guess?  NXT Reshooting A Karrion Kross Scene Due To "Jeff Hardy" Chants.  This is sad yet f**king hilarious. So sad that It's more depressing than what they're doing with Baron Corbin honestly.  From bodyslam.net , they've heard that a segment that involved Karrion Kross cutting a promo before Samoa Joe showed up, had chants of "Hardy". The chants were so noticeable that NXT had to reshoot the segment.  I feel so sorry for Karrion Kross bruh.  Quick Thoughts On Smackdown Yesterday.  You would think with the intrigue being built following Money In The Bank that the outcome of this week's episode is a good one?  Nah. The show was just not good. Roman Reigns made a "missionary" line which I'm sure my Twitter timeline will appreciate. The only positive thing about the episode was the segment with S

How about the L that magician jujitsu master took last night, am I right?  Oh wait, that wasn't even mentioned other than his appearance on RAW and not the ending?  Can't say that I blame NXT for that.  This episode is really good, which is usual with the yellow brand.  Images via WWE.com Samoa Joe Calls Out Karrion Kross.  NXT is starting off hot, people!  Now, this is how the segment went. Samoa Joe was like, "I want to beat the crap out of Karrion Kross" to which NXT gm Willie Man said, "Uh, no. You're not allowed to do so because Kross attacked Samoa Joe the referee and not Joe the NXT management".  After that statement from Regal,  Joe replied, "Nah. I'll find that piece of sh*te himself".  Towards the end of the show, Samoa Joe came back to the ring and called out the NXT champion.  Karrion Kross did respond via the titantron and proceeded to show a down and out Steve Regal.  Joe tried to chase the champ but Kross quickly got away.  I

WWE RAW 19/7/21 | A Coherent Review.

Not gonna lie, this episode of RAW was f**king bad. It did have its moments but as a whole, it was the typical Monday Night RAW content I've been watching but with fans now.  Images via WWE.com John Felix Anthony Cena Explains His Motivation Behind His WWE Return.  The reason why the former 16-time world champion came back to world wrestling entertainment is quite simple.  He wants the blue belt that Roman Reigns is currently holding.  Why? Because according to Jacob Toretto, Roman Reigns is a piece of sh*te. Side note, Cena will be on Smackdown this week to confront the tribal chief so there's that.   I ain't mad that Cena showed up to RAW instead of Smackdown to air his motivations since the gut wasn't part of last year's draft. This current iteration of Roman Reigns vs John Cena is a dream match that somehow feels like it was leading to that big destination and not a random face that WWE wants to put against the universal champion.  Overall it was simple, to the

WWE Money In The Bank 2021 | A Coherent Review

Last year's Money In The Bank show was one of my all-time favourites. You wanna know why?  It's because it ended in 2 hours and 10 minutes. As a guy with an intensive full-time job, that alone has to be the reason why 2020 MITB is a great show.  How did this year's show hold up? Well, it was quite simply, an enjoyable 3-hour program.  I had my so-called "money's worth" after watching this PPV.  Oh, and the Smackdown tag team championship match was aye okay.  Images via WWE.com   Women's Money In The Bank Ladder Match.  You would think that Alexa Bliss would've won this match considering that she has voodoo powers, right?  But, I can't pull the "white dude that complains about logic in a subject piece of entertainment" because this match was probably one of the best multi-person ladder matches I've seen in quite some time.  Nikki A.S.H overcame the odds like a good superhero story would tell by winning the briefcase.  Given that she

The 5 News Week: News On WWE Network Removing Some Content.

Hello, my fellow wrestling fans and welcome to the 5 news week. The post where I report 5 major or minor pro wrestling news, rumours and spoilers of the week that I don't have time to do it separately.  Without further ado, here are the 5 news week.  WWE Draft Date Changed According To Reports.  This ain't a brand split without a cohesive draft show, right?  From Andrew Zarian of "listen to my podcast now!" Mad Men Wrestling Podcast , the set of shows that will host this year's draft (RAW and Smackdown for all of you slow mofos) will possibly be delayed to a month.  The draft was supposed to be conducted on the 31st of August and the 9th of September.  The possible delayed date is now either the 1st of October and the 4th of October or the 4th of October and the 8th of October.  I am not a fan of the draft that is taking place right in the middle of the Survivor Series/October PPV build.  A draft that is scheduled weeks after Wrestlemania would've made sense

WWE Smackdown 16/7/21 | A Coherent Review.

Yay. Crowds are back which means *in the tone of BackStreet* What chants boys are back!  All lame jokes aside, it feels weird to see a full crowd once again in WWE programming.  It almost felt like it was a new invention and not something we've had for what it feels like an eternity now.  And WWE actually tried here because this episode was enjoyable as a whole.  Vinnie Mac with his uncreative, fickle a**, welcomed the most oppressed group (beside gamers) in human history aka wrestling fans to SmackDown.  Images via WWE.com Roman Reigns And The Usos vs Edge, Rey And Dominik Mysterio.  The live audience got electric for the Rated R superstar and I can't say that I blame them.  Speaking of the fans, they were into the bout until it ended via a roll-up from Jey Uso to Rey Mysterio. All 3 guys then attacked each other in a post-match beatdown but Edge stood tall in the end.  This is one of those bouts where the crowd made it into an 8 out of 10 instead of a 5 out of 10 (kinda like

WWE NXT 13/7/21 | A Late Coherent Review.

I was supposed to post this review yesterday but because I forgot to even do that (thanks laziness), the NXT review wasn't on its usual Wednesday.  It's pretty odd to publish a review the day of AEW Dynamite (a good show, by the way) but whatever (don't worry my 2 viewers, the AEW Dynamite reviews will be back).  As far as how I feel about this show, the episode wasn't as great as the previous weeks but it was as a whole, a passable piece of programming.  Images via WWE.com Ember Moon vs Dakota Kai.  Both women showcased their version of "team kick" by literally kicking the crap out of each other.  The word "Intensity" comes to mind after seeing this match.  Kai is victorious with the go-to kick which is one of my favourite wrestling moves right now.  Post-match saw Xia Li setting her eyes on Raquel Gonzalez's women's championship and Gonzalez was on board with the title match.  A random scene out of a WWE 2K universe mode but I don't hat
