Playard Wrestling Post

I know you don't care about a dude (moi) writing about why he hasn't reviewed Smackdown in 2 weeks on an unknown site called "Playard Wrestling Post" but hear me out. Ever since the brand split was brought back, the blue brand's quality of television was like a roller-coaster ride, full of ups and downs. That overused metaphor can especially be applied as to how the powers that be, constructed each Smackdown episode in 2019.  Smackdown on FOX is a great example of the shows' downward in quality storytelling. Other than maybe Bray Wyatt, every episode of Smackdown on FOX was underwhelming and in some cases, flat out horrendous.  Elias is apparently a babyface even though the things he's saying sounds like something a heel would say, King Corbin makes fun of Roman Reigns' big dog persona in the lamest of ways, the women's division is as weak as the news you read on Wrestling Twitter and many more.  I want to like Smackdown, I reall...

This like Monday Night RAW earlier this week was a filler episode but unlike Smackdown, I actually enjoyed RAW. My overall thoughts, a bad 2 hours of professional wrestling television.  Miz TV.  Special Guest, Originally Daniel Bryan.  I say originally because Daniel Bryan was taken under the ring by the Fiend last week and The Miz says that he cares about Daniel Bryan.  Bray Wyatt showed up via a firefly funhouse segment and the whole theme of the funhouse is family. Wyatt then proceeds to show Miz's picture of his family and escapes the ring.  While the segment was fine, it is the most interesting story being told in this episode. Also, The Miz is facing Bray Wyatt but not The Fiend and rather the firefly funhouse Bray Wyatt at TLC so that should be interesting.  Mandy Rose vs Alexa Bliss.  Rose puts Bliss down and she rips Bliss's eyes lashes off. Alexa countered that with a twisted Bliss moments later and won the match. Meh...

NXT has taken over and to quote Robert Roode, it was glorious. I don't know how this show will turn out if it was a regularly scheduled show.  This is the best Smackdown on FOX episode and that's all thanks to NXT. I know that's due to most superstars having travelling issues from Saudi Arabia back to the States but they’ve managed to give us a fun episode and it was something that we haven't seen coming.  Brock Lesnar Is Pissed Off.  The beast and the advocate started off this episode of Smackdown and Paul says that Brock is angry. The reason is? Rey Mysterio hits Lesnar with a series of chair shots which is funny to say given that I said the exact opposite in my Crown Jewel review.  Heyman went on to say that Brock Lesnar officially quits Friday Night SmackDown in order to appear on Monday Night RAW this coming week to hunt Rey Mysterio. They did show us the full WWE championship at Crown Jewel so depending on who you are, you may like it or not like it...

Not impressed with this week's episode of Smackdown Live. I'm gonna go as far as to say that show was bad for the most part. The story built-in throughout the show was something I don't care about. Maybe my mind could change because I am a human being after all but I have no positives for Owens feuding with Shane McMahon.  Smackdown Town Hall.  After Shane McMahon "gave Kevin Owens the night off", the rest of the SmackDown roster were on the stage area for you guessed it, a Smackdown Live town hall. Roman Reigns grabbed the microphone and basically told him to kick his behind.  Charlotte Flair basically agreed with Shane McMahon's tactics to which Liv Morgan replied by saying that she wants the opportunity to be in the ring or something along those lines.  Shane then called out Buddy Murphy to say something and Murphy gave a warning to Owens that next time he mentions him, he's gonna beat Owens up (finally. Apparently, Eric Bischoff had a hand in this episode of Smackdown Live because I didn't feel like it. This was a dull show just like last week's episode. And  Yes, I've made a custom graphic this time because I couldn't find the WWE preview show graphic that I usually post. What do you think guys?  The KO show. Special Guest, Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre.  As you can tell from reading the headline, the show didn't start off with The New Day and he introduced The Phenom (referring to The Undertaker) "The Phenum" which was unintentionally funny. He then brought up his guests and after Shane got his usual introduction from Greg Hamilton, showed him a video highlight of The Undertaker showing up on RAW last night (which you can click here to read my RAW review).  Shane replied to that by saying that he's not afraid of The Undertaker  and he made that tag  match a no holds barred. This was one big meh of an episode. That’s all I’m gonna say about that.  Opening segment.  The show kicked off with you guessed it, Kofi Kingston who by the way, just came back from a vacation to his home country in Ghana. Kofi Kingston said that life full of craziness and full of surprises and wants to inspire people.  Kofi showed a video footage of his trip to his home country and then talked about his vacation with tears. Dolph Ziggler came to ruin his moment by saying that he respects Kofi but that WWE championship should've been on his waist.  Kofi replied by saying that he knows how Dolph Ziggler feels and Kofi showed Ziggler a video footage in Dec 2017 episode of Smackdown when he relinquished the United States championship. Kofi said that the reason why he played that footage is because Dolph always does after he doesn't get his way and that's quitting.  After that, Dolph played of the footage of Ziggler's beatdown on Kofi a few...
