This was one big meh of an episode. That’s all I’m gonna say about that.
Opening segment.
The show kicked off with you guessed it, Kofi Kingston who by the way, just came back from a vacation to his home country in Ghana. Kofi Kingston said that life full of craziness and full of surprises and wants to inspire people.
Kofi showed a video footage of his trip to his home country and then talked about his vacation with tears. Dolph Ziggler came to ruin his moment by saying that he respects Kofi but that WWE championship should've been on his waist.
Kofi replied by saying that he knows how Dolph Ziggler feels and Kofi showed Ziggler a video footage in Dec 2017 episode of Smackdown when he relinquished the United States championship. Kofi said that the reason why he played that footage is because Dolph always does after he doesn't get his way and that's quitting.
After that, Dolph played of the footage of Ziggler's beatdown on Kofi a few weeks ago (Wow, a lot of video footages playing eh?) Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn came out to start off a tag match between Owens and Zayn vs Kingston and Woods. I actually liked this segment and yes, even with many video packages playing even though I joked about it a bit earlier.
Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn vs Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods.
This was an okay match. The ⅔ of The New Day won the match with a trouble in paradise and then Dolph superkicked both Kingston and Woods.
A Moment of Bliss. SmackDown Live Edition.
Alexa introduced Bayley until she wants for he coffee. Alexa then lists off her accomplishment then Bliss' coffee finally came to which Bayley smacked it.
Carmella and then, Charlotte Flair came out to give their reasons as to why they deserve a championship and announced a triple threat match between Carmella, Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss to determine who's gonna face the SmackDown Live women's champion at Stomping Ground. Decent segment. Didn't do anything for me but it did progress decently to a PPV.
Then, R Truth and Carmella were talking backstage until Shane called on Carmella's phone and made a match for R Truth and that match is…….
R Truth vs Elias for the WWE 24/7 Championship in a Lumberjack match.
Elias won his second WWE 24/7 championship with a knee then a roll up. Then all the Lumberjacks were beating up Elias but Elias somehow escaped without the Lumberjack's knowledge to which Truth was chasing Elias under the ring and Truth won the title for the third time just like that.
Wow, that segment made the entire rest of the WWE roster that was part of that match look really stupid like Elias WAS OUTSIDE CRAWLING FOR GOD SAKE!!!
Shane McMahon Says That What Roman Can Do, Shane Can Do Better If Not The Best.
Shane came out with The Revival from RAW and talked about him beating Roman Reigns on RAW last night. Shane McMahon made some dog metaphors about Roman and then, out came Roman Reigns himself.
Reigns superman punched The Revival and was walking to the ring slowly until Drew McIntyre kicked Roman's head off with the claymore kick. I have to say, this was a lot shorter than I expected and I didn't hate it but still, I don't care about this feud.
Charlotte Flair vs Carmella vs Alexa Bliss. The winner faces the SmackDown women's championship at Stomping Ground.
During the match, Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville showed up and were standing near the ring. The closing moments of the match, the duo know as Fire And Desire distraction Carmella to which Alexa Bliss hit a DDT to Carmella and won the match.
On one hand, the feud between Alexa and Bayley started off great with a fantastic match at Payback 2017. On the other hand, Alexa Bliss and Bayley were part of the worst segments in RAW history. I'm confused but we shall see how WWE builds this to Stomping Ground.
Lars Sullivan Exclusive In Ring Interview With Kayla Braxton.
Braxton asked him what's his motivation for wreaking havoc on RAW and Smackdown Live? Lars answered the question by telling her that she should call him The Freak.
Braxton asked him about his match with The Lucha House Party and he replied with a nursery rhyme. I don't remember Lars Sullivan being that green in the mic. I'm I going crazy? Let me know in the comments.
Andrade In Action.
Andrade was having a match with Apollo Crews until Finn Balor came out and brawled with him. This is the only time this match actually has a "build" if you call it that.
Goldberg Talks About His Match With The Deadman at Super showdown.
In Goldberg's promo, he mentioned the Undertaker line about how he doesn't need the family man and Goldberg agrees with him. Goldberg ended the promo by saying that he's next to which Undertaker showed up.
This was a much better end segment than last night's version and during the show, they actually showed the extended version of The Undertaker's promo on RAW so there's that.
So, to recap for all of you slow mofos:
Like: The opening segment.
Didn't like: The Lumberjack's looked really dumb, Lars Sullivan promo was pretty bad (even though I can't blame him for that).
Guys, don't expect an NXT review tomorrow because the NXT after a Takeover is a skippable show.
