WWE Smackdown Live 24/9/18 | My Coherent Review.

Smackdown live was once again, a good show that did its job to build some hype for WWE super showdown. Now usually on my reviews, I give my thoughts on what's good, what's ok and what bad. However, I'm only gonna tell you what's good and what's ok for this review because I didn't find anything bad about this episode. Now let's talk wrestling, shall we?

WHAT'S GOOD

The opening segment

“This show is already way better than ‘Miz TV,’” Bryan says.
Man, this opening segment was entertaining and I believe this is the first time since 2011 that R Truth has been featured a lot on WWE television. Look, I know some people who find the five-second dance break cringeworthy but I thought that was funny. That segment led to a match between The Miz and R Truth and if want to know my thoughts on the match itself then look below.

Rusev calls out Aiden English

WWE Photo
Basically, this segment goes like this. Rusev calls out Aiden to explain himself for his actions last week. Aiden then comes out to the ring and he played a promo package pretty much implying that if it wasn't for Aiden English, Rusev wouldn't be as over as he is now or at least that's what I thought of that until he blames Rusev's wife Lana for his actions.

Lana then replied by saying that she was by his side when her husband was undefeated for a year and she calls out Aiden for trying to create a name for himself using Rusev.

After that, Aiden asks that if she's so honest with her husband, is she going to tell him that one night in Milwaukee? Ooh, it's heating up. I overall enjoyed this segment but was it the Milwaukee incident all bullshit or not? Will have to watch Smackdown live next week to find out.

Samoa Joe is at AJ's house. Literally.

Joe promises to beat AJ for the WWE Championship in Australia holds up a toy that he got for Annie.
Holy crap, what a way to end this show and the way it ended by Joe saying "Daddy's home" just made it so much better. Click here to watch the whole thing on YouTube if you haven't seen it yet. I promise it's worth the 5 minutes.

WHAT'S OK

R Truth vs The Miz

WWE Photo
The match itself was predictable but decent at the same time. The Miz wins here with him hitting the skull crushing finale and then the running knee finish that Bryan usually uses.

Sheamus vs Big E

WWE Photo
Before the match, The New Day were "saying something nice" to The Bar and Sheamus had enough and that's when The Bar were preaching the truth. At one point, Big E tried to kill himself with the spear on the outside but luckily Sheamus reversed it and then immediately hit the brogue kick and win the match.

Naomi and Asuka vs Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville

WWE Photo
According to Micheal Cole, Sonya Deville is the hottest thing on Smackdown live (*cough* click here to read all my Mae young classic reviews so far). If that's the case, she would've won this match but she and Mandy didn't because the team of Naomi and Asuka wins this match win the double by Naomi and Asuka.

Shinsuke Nakamura vs Tye Dillinger

WWE Photo
Tye bro, where you at?  Anyways, Tye wins via DQ because outta nowhere Randy Orton was beating up Tye which I'm confused. I mean yes Tye Dillinger is over with the crowd but I just don't get it. look, I'm not hating this. I just have more questions than answers.

Becky Lynch vs Lana

There were Milwaukee chants from the crowd in Denver which was really funny. Anyways, Becky wins with the Disarmher.

Sounds off in the comments below on what do you think about SmackDown live this week and follow the blog for honest pro wrestling opinions. Anyways, stay safe smarks.

WWE Backlash 2020 | A Coherent Review.

Overall, a decent PPV that was highlighted by a few good matches and one greatest match (yea, yea, the pun is worn out already but I just had to).  As a tradition on this site, I've not seen the pre-show match, however, I've heard it was solid.  Bayley And Sasha Banks vs Alexa Bliss And Nikki Cross vs The IIconics For The Women's Tag Team Championship.  A decent opening match of the evening. Peyton Royce did a unique crossbody onto every participant in the match.  Moments later, Royce and Billie Kay did their double team move on Sasha Banks but you know who also did a double team move?  Nikki Cross and Alexa Bliss with a double team DDT on Peyton Royce.  As soon as Bliss hits the Twisted Bliss on Peyton Royce, Sasha Banks quickly rolled Alexa up for the victory and retained dos straps.  The tag team championship reign of the golden role models continues (No sh*t, Omar). Also, I wanna briefly speak on the Alexa Bliss situation....

The 5 News Week: An Interview With Musician John Kiernan.

WE'RE BACK LADIES, GENTLEMEN AND NB! Now, what did I miss from the several week hiatus?  *Scrolls down at the news feed* a billionaire said something stupid. Monday Night RAW is still duh and uninspired. Mass release of talent by WWE.  So……. Same old sh*t? Figures.  For those unaware (pretty much everybody), The 5 News Week is where I showcase 5 major or minor news of the week that I don't have the time to do separately.  Without further ado, here are the 5 News Week.  An Interview With Musician John Kiernan.  I kick things off with an interview from a guy that I'm hoping (as a musician) appreciates Brie Bella's theme song because my music tastes suck, musician John Kiernan.  If the name sounds familiar to you, it’s probably because you’re listening to a podcast that loves shouting out the names John “loose cannon” Lopez and ‘Beast Mode” Brock Joseph at the beginning.  Kiernan has composed and straight-up killed it in the pro wrestling musi...

Jim Cornette's Opinion On WWE's Deal With FOX.

Jim Cornette recently appeared on Talk Is Jericho about the state of wrestling ( Click here to listen and download the whole thing, it's really good) and talked about a number of topics but the interesting thing about this discussion is his opinion on WWE's deal with FOX. Here's what he had to say (shout out to WrestleZone for the transcript):  " Vince just got $2 billion for a TV deal. People are looking at All In, the resurgence of New Japan, and all that, but that’s going to be the most important thing. Now people with platforms are interested in wrestling again.  There’s a lot of money in wrestling again. For a while ratings were meh, and they still are, but at the same point $2 billion, how can you argue with that? In 2011, when Sinclair Broadcasting bought Ring of Honor it instantly became the second most watched television program because it was on 60 local stations.  That was still a wide gap from WWE, and IMPACT has gone in the other direction becaus...
