WWE RAW 30/12/19 | My Coherent Review.

I'm back from a two-week review hiatus and honestly, it was refreshing but this ain't about me. You're here for my thoughts on the final RAW of the 2010s and it was decent until the ending.  I'm still in shock as to what did I just witness. I've not been this shocked from seeing an ending like that probably since watching the movie "Schindler's List".  Kevin Owens Wants To Take Seth Rollins And AOP Down.  Owens in a promo, says that the heel trio are disrespecting Rey Mysterio and shows footage of Mysterio losing the US title to Andrade in a house show even though the luchador wasn't 100%.  Seth Rollins and his friends came out and Kevin Owens immediately tried to attack AOP but that did not fail thanks to Samoa Joe and chaos has ensued to start off RAW.  Charly Caruso showed up to interview Samoa Joe about what AOP and Rollins did to him last week to which a bunch of security guards entered the locker room to get rid of Owens

The 5 News Week Look-Back: Batista's Match With Triple H At Wrestlemania 35 Supposed To Be A Hell In A Cell!?, A Look Back At Eric Bischoff's Role As Executive Director.

Hello, my fellow wrestling fans and welcome to the 5 News Week where I usually report on the 5 major or minor news of the week but I'm not doing that here if you can't tell from the graphic I made (you're welcome, by the way).  But Rather, all throughout December, I'm going to look back at some of the news that came out in 2019. The start of a new decade is going to be upon us in the coming days and that can be exciting especially for the future of the wrestling business as a whole. I hope you guys celebrate the new year's day and of course, drink responsibly.  Fans Frustration Over The Booking Of The Main Roster Women's Division.  I wrote an article earlier this year about why women's wrestling in world wrestling entertainment of the year 2018 was great (which you can click here to read the whole thing).  However, it seems like the year after (2019) was the exact opposite. Now, they did rebound the quality of storytelling in the women's div

Fantasy Booking And How It Plays A Vital Role In Content Creation.

I’m not really a hardcore fantasy wrestling booking fan but I don’t mind witnessing it every once in a while. However, I could understand why people either enjoy reading fantasy booking articles or do it themselves because it’s a lot of fun and it fills up your creative juices that you never had before doing this. The question is, how did fantasy booking come about?  The answer is simply after the internet’s infancy. As the number of people having internet connections increased, so did the number of people participating in fantasy bookings (not a big increase but you get my point). Fantasy booking has been a great conversation starter in forums like Reddit.  via smarkoutmoment.com Now, how does it play a vital role in wrestling content creation? Take a look at WhatCulture Wrestling (by that I mean, go to their Youtube channel and just stare at it because why? *repeatedly slapping my head*, Here's why).  They got Adam Blampied (weird saying his name now after what happe

The 5 News Week Look-Back: Shane McMahon Was Going To Become WWE Champion!?, Percy Watson's Life After NXT.

We're a few days away from Christmas so enjoy yourselves and drink responsibly. Without further ado, here are the 5 News Week Look Back.  How's Road Dogg Doing In NXT As Part Of The Writing Team?  The Do double G is a guy that I'm surprised is still on social media. Not only he had to deal with people on Twitter about the creative decisions being made on the blue brand (I was one of those people) but as well as the boss' creative changes and I'm not talking about Sasha Banks (obviously like who am I mentioning? Kevin Dunn?).  According to PWInsider and Mike Johnson , Brian "Road Dogg" James reached a &q

Why I Haven't Reviewed Smackdown In 2 Weeks.

I know you don't care about a dude (moi) writing about why he hasn't reviewed Smackdown in 2 weeks on an unknown site called "Playard Wrestling Post" but hear me out. Ever since the brand split was brought back, the blue brand's quality of television was like a roller-coaster ride, full of ups and downs. That overused metaphor can especially be applied as to how the powers that be, constructed each Smackdown episode in 2019.  Smackdown on FOX is a great example of the shows' downward in quality storytelling. Other than maybe Bray Wyatt, every episode of Smackdown on FOX was underwhelming and in some cases, flat out horrendous.  Elias is apparently a babyface even though the things he's saying sounds like something a heel would say, King Corbin makes fun of Roman Reigns' big dog persona in the lamest of ways, the women's division is as weak as the news you read on Wrestling Twitter and many more.  I want to like Smackdown, I reall

My Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Cameron Grimes' Best Match So Far?, The Dark Order Emerges At Last.

Corpus Cristy, TX. A crowd this is notorious for having little to no reactions is as lively on the recent episode of AEW Dynamite as any Monday Night RAW audience reaction all year. I know it sounds like an oxymoron but I'm not lying.  Anywho, this is not only an AEW Dynamite review but as well as an NXT review so which show was better? NXT by far. Dynamite had some logic holes filled with meh matches for the most part. WWE's yellow brand was the exact opposite.  NXT   Highlights. Adam Cole vs Finn Balor For The NXT Championship.   "The Irishman's title reign lasted as long as the movie "The Irishman"" in Mauro we love and in Mauro we keep.  They weren't lying when they said that the match had limited commercial breaks. The bout started off slow, to be honest, but it picked up in the second half. Both guys took a series of kicks from both guys until Balor hits the Pele kick and when Balor layed down the mat, Cole immediately pinned hi

WWE RAW 16/12/19 | My Coherent Review.

This week's RAW was a whole lotta nothing and because of it, I'm not going to talk about everything that happened in this episode like I usually do but instead, I'm airing my positives for the show.  Also, I'm not planning on posting my review for next week's RAW and the reason being is that I'm either replacing it with an essay or I'm leaving Tuesday afternoon (my time) blank depending on the day.  Some Positives.  Becky Lynch Sends Asuka An Important Message.  We're starting this recap with a fantastic sit-down promo by the champ. Like some fans out there, Becky admits of being a bit off for the past few months as a singles competitor and lumped in a newer environment in the women's tag team division.  She then later feels like the company is trying to protect her by putting her in corporate events because the overlords think that Lynch is their bankable asset right now (at least, that's how I look at it).  This promo of

WWE TLC 2019 | My Coherent Review.

In case you forgot guys, this is the last WWE PPV of 2019 and they ended the year with a fun pro wrestling event but this ain't a WWE show without some bad booking decisions.  The Humberto Carrillo and Andrade match was good. Humberto wins clean this time with a moonsault.  Then, Andrade and Zelina Vega were arguing pretty much and honestly, breaking them up will be a huge mistake considering that the pairing is what makes Andrade unique. I hope once that happens, Andrade can bounce back from it.  The New Day in Kofi Kingston And Big E vs The Revival For The SmackDown Tag Team Championship In a Ladder Match.  Kingston almost killed himself by throwing himself on the outside to the Revival on the ladder. Both Revival members then climbed the ladder but Big E somehow took out both guys with a belly to belly suplex.  Then, Big E himself climbed the ladder but he was halfway there and Scott Dawson drop kicked on Big E's leg, preventing him from climbing to the top.
