AEW Full Gear 2021 | A Coherent Review.

Apologies to my 4 viewers that this review is shorter than the last time I did an AEW PPV review which was Revolution (big f**king yikes, Omar. Fake wrestling fan).  It's just that TK is killing me with the 4 hour long PPVs but at this point, my complaints on how long the show would last are getting old so let's get into how this show ABSOLUTELY F'ING RULED LIKE A MONARCH! (For the most part because nothing is perfect).  MJF vs Darby Allin.  While I believe MJF's character is a walking dummies article on how to be a heel, the guy can wrestle his a** off as seen by the opening contest with Darby Allin.  MJF made my favourite wrestling bruf William Regal proud due to the fact that he used the brass knuckles to win the match.  Where does Maxwell go from here? I can't believe I'm saying this but I could see him wrestling Sting and the worst part about this statement is that I wouldn't mind it. 2019 me would've slapped the sh*t out of 2021 me.  The Lucha Brot...

The 5 News Week: Brief Thoughts On AEW Double Or Nothing 2021.

Hello, my fellow wrestling fans and welcome to the 5 news week. The post where I report 5 major or minor pro wrestling news, rumours and spoilers of the week that I don't have time to do it separately.  Without further ado, here are the 5 news week.  A Brief Thoughts On Double Or Nothing 2021.  I was supposed to create a separate review for Double Or Nothing but life came into the way. Hence, why I'm briefly writing about it. Here are my key takeaways from what was a pretty entertaining PPV:  AEW should really think about the length of the show because honestly, there's no reason why a wrestling show should be 4 and a half hours bruh. I felt every single second of the 4-hour runtime.  I prefer the Stadium Stampede match over the Blood And Guts. It had the right amount of batsh*t shenanigans along with the surprising additional humour (that Konnan cameo was gold).  The women, in my opinion, STOLE THE DAMN SHOW! The opening match for the NWA women's champions...

The 5 News Week: Who's Sword Did Drew McIntyre Use In His Entrance On Monday Night RAW?, AEW Reportedly Struggling To Sell Tickets At Daily's Place For Dynamite.

Hello, my fellow wrestling fans and welcome to the 5 news week. The post where I report 5 major or minor news of the week that I don't have time to do it separately. Without further ado, here are the 5 news week.  Some Images via WWE.com Who's Sword Did Drew McIntyre Use In His Entrance On Monday Night RAW?  Monday Night RAW this past week was surprisingly a watchable show from start to finish ( click here to know more).  While Drew McIntyre vs Randy Orton wasn't THE main reason why, it was a decent encounter.  However, during Drew's entrance before he captured the WWE championship for the 2nd time, the Scotsmen revealed in an interview with Ryan Satin over at Fox Sports that the sword he used for that entrance belongs to Vince McMahon:  "I guess I’ll let the cat out of the bag: The sword that I had is actually Vince [McMahon]’s sword.  It was gifted to him by Stephanie [McMahon] and Hunter [Paul Levesque]. I believe the conversation went, “We need the s...

AEW Full Gear 2020 | A Coherent Review.

While Full Gear was a big improvement compared to All Out, the pacing in their PPVs still needs a LOT of work.  I was yawning way too much in the 2nd hour even though I had a 9-hour sleep yesterday.   With a card like this, it doesn't need to be 4 hours.  Oh, and that Serena Deeb and Allysin Kay match on the pre-show was decent.  Kenny Omega vs Hangman Page. AEW World Championship Number One Contender's Tournament Finals.  Hangman Page doesn't have time to play "sportsmanship" as he's nailing Omega with some brutal elbow strikes throughout the first 10 or so minutes.  Speaking of brutal, Page delivered a devastating powerbomb on the stage ramp to Omega and then a sitout powerbomb in the ring to a near fall.  Unfortunately for Hangman, he was taken out with the one-winged angel from Kenny to win the entire tournament.  An enjoyable opener although it could've been just a tiny bit better but I'm nitpicking.  The elite brand will have an an...

AEW Double Or Nothing 2020 | A Coherent Review.

AEW had a big mission to accomplish ever since their announcement as a wrestling entity and that is to deliver an enjoyable and memorable PPV titled " Double Or Nothing ." That mission was successful both critically and financially.  And yet, due to the unique times, we're living in, Double Or Nothing managed to score a second W in the show's history. This was an entertaining 3 and a half hours of professional wrestling. Oh, and I've not seen the preshow match so I can't talk about it.  Frank Kazarian vs Joey Janela (replacing Rey Fenix due to an injury) vs Scorpio Sky vs Darby Allin vs Kip Sabian vs Christopher Daniels vs Orange Cassidy vs Colt Cabana vs Luchasaurus vs Brian Cage. Casino Ladder  Number One Contender's Match For The AEW World Championship.  The match started off as a gauntlet match which is a unique take for a multi-person ladder match that definitely separates from the rest. During the match, Allin tried to deliver a move thr...

The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Triple H Addresses The Johnny Gargano And Tommaso Ciampa Saga, Matt Hardy Confronts Chris Jericho.

I gotta put my resident WWE shill hat on because NXT this week won me over this week. Dynamite, however, was aight. Not bad but not as good as last week's edition.  NXT    Highlights. Triple H Addresses The Johnny Gargano And Tommaso Ciampa Saga.  Out came Hunter to call out Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano to the ring. After that, Triple H promised both men that they'll fight each other in a bigger stage but Gargano doesn't want to wait that long so Hunter asked him how long do Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano would like their bout to take place? Gargano replied, "two weeks".  Triple H announced that he'll find a place with a ring and a ref but he wants this feud to end otherwise both men don't have to worry about who's the heart and soul of NXT. Oh, and a camera shot of the "world ending" video packages we've seen on the titantron revealed as Killer Kross.  That ending was random but nevertheless, the segment was grea...

The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: The Exalted One Arrives And A Certain Broken One Emerges.

This is the coherent wrestling Wednesdays where I usually give you my thoughts on NXT and AEW but since NXT was literally a highlight reel, I'm only going to talk about the latest edition of AEW Dynamite. So, how did TNT's only wrestling show do this week?  Going into this show, I was afraid of how this episode will turn out because unlike WWE, they don't have a huge library of matches to fill  2 hours of programming.  But after witnessing this show, AEW did a fantastic job of executing the episode with an empty crowd. They put WWE to shame on how to air a wrestling TV show with no crowd and this is coming from the resident WWE shill.  Highlights.  Cody And His Elite Buddies Address Their Match At Blood And Guts.  The American nightmare starts off this episode of Dynamite in an empty area with a great promo about social distancing, Tony Khan his upcoming blood and guts match and his fellow Elite member, Nick Jackson.  Speaking of The Elit...
