AEW Full Gear 2020 | A Coherent Review.

While Full Gear was a big improvement compared to All Out, the pacing in their PPVs still needs a LOT of work.

I was yawning way too much in the 2nd hour even though I had a 9-hour sleep yesterday.

With a card like this, it doesn't need to be 4 hours.

Oh, and that Serena Deeb and Allysin Kay match on the pre-show was decent.

Kenny Omega vs Hangman Page. AEW World Championship Number One Contender's Tournament Finals.

Hangman Page doesn't have time to play "sportsmanship" as he's nailing Omega with some brutal elbow strikes throughout the first 10 or so minutes.

Speaking of brutal, Page delivered a devastating powerbomb on the stage ramp to Omega and then a sitout powerbomb in the ring to a near fall.

Unfortunately for Hangman, he was taken out with the one-winged angel from Kenny to win the entire tournament.

An enjoyable opener although it could've been just a tiny bit better but I'm nitpicking.

The elite brand will have an announcement regarding AEW games this Tuesday.

It is interesting to point out that Tony Khan revealed in the AEW Full Gear post-show scrum that they’re working on multiple games for different platforms.

He also confirmed an AEW GM mode type game. As a hardcore gamer myself, this is exciting.

There’s nothing wrong with a healthy competition in the wrestling video game space since the market desperately needs a new major player in the game (get it? player? game? Because I talked about video games?).

Orange Cassidy vs John Silver of The Dark Order.

Moving on with that corny joke.

This is honestly a perfect match as a concept simply because two wild, goofy characters are facing each other for the first time.

Was it perfect in execution though? No, but it was a fun encounter.

You had John not too happy with Orange Cassidy doing his signature pose.

That aggression from Silver should've been used to win the match because Cassidy prevailed in the end.

Cassidy's momentum since his big win over Chris Jericho has been cooled off so I'm hoping they build him back up.

Cody Rhodes vs Darby Allin For The AEW TNT Championship.

Well, look at this, Cody just got his last name back and you know what? Good on him.

Those two men have always had excellent chemistry inside the squared-circle. The main question is, was this match an exception?

*Jon Moxley's voice* Nope.

So, Allin delivered an arm drag but Cody reversed it into an armbar. That was cool.

Moments later, Cody nailed an avalanche shoulder breaker to a near fall before he was biting on Allin's arm (Ewww).

The match ended with a roll-up from Darby Allin and because of that move, Allin is the third ever TNT champion.

After Cody showed his respect to the new champion, the FTW crew attacked both men from behind to which Taz picked up the TNT belt.

This is the first feud for Allin's TNT championship that we all saw it coming from a kilometre away.

On and all, this is, so far, the match of the evening.

In a backstage interview with Dasha, Dustin Rhodes challenged The Butcher And The Blade in a bunkhouse match on AEW Dynamite.

I did a quick Google search (because I do not know what a bunkhouse is) and it's pretty much a small, compact house historically used by cowboys.

So, another cinematic match?

Hikaru Shida vs Nyla Rose For The AEW Women's World Championship.

The match was decent just like their previous encounter at Double Or Nothing this past May.

Shida at one point, did a running knee onto Nyla that sent the native beast through the barricade.

After many knee strikes to Nyla Rose, Shida has retained the women's title.

After the match, Vickie Guerrero wasn't having Nyla Rose anymore.

Well, there goes the duo. Nyla Rose doesn't need Vickie Guerrero and I do not mind Rose separating with Vickie Guerrero.

FTR VS The Young Bucks For The AEW World Tag Team Championship.

A match that everybody has been looking forward to since FTR was still in WWE.

But, now, it's finally here and I'm happy to tell you guys that I enjoyed every single minute of it.

Matt delivered a fantastic spear on to Cash Wheeler.

The Young Bucks then made a Hardy Boyz reference with the twist of fate into a Swanton bomb on Dax Harwood.

Another call back in this match was when FTR nailed the DIY double kick on Matt Jackson.

Matt was about to make Dax Harwood tap out with the sharpshooter. Unfortunately, Matt's knee gave out.

FTR did the double spike piledriver to a close near fall.

As Cash Wheeler missed the springboard 450 splash, Matt hit the superkick with the injured knee to become the AEW tag team champion.

What a f'ing match. Nothing but praise. A big shout out to all 4 men.

Matt Hardy vs Sammy Guevera In An Elite Deletion Match.

Ooh. It's cinematic match time and it was fine for what it was.

I did laugh when Matt destroyed Sammy's golf cart and called it a "total squash".

There were appearances from the likes of Santana, Ortiz, Private Party, Hurricane Shane Helms and Gangrel.

(A call back to when the Hardy Boyz were a part of Gangrel for a bit back in the late 90s).

You can't have a match at the Hardy compound without some fireworks and throwing somebody on to the lake of reincarnation.

Sammy took an absolute BEATING from Matt Hardy with a steel chair and because of it, the older Hardy sibling walks out of the compound victorious.

Side note, according to Davey boy Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Radio, this match was to quote WrestlingInc "strategically placed on the card after The Young Bucks vs. FTR match to provide fans with a little comedy relief and variety."

Those chair shots weren't funny, Tony Khan! I will say, there were a few funny moments.

In a filmed video promo, Lance Archer gave a huge warning to the AEW roster. Meh.

Chris Jericho vs MJF. If MJF wins Then He Joins The Inner Circle.

MJF, like the bad guy that he is, mocked Chris Jericho's "come on baby" entrance because he's MJF and he's better than all of us.

The match was meh.

MJF won the match thanks to a distraction roll-up which means that MJF is now a part of the Inner Circle.

Then, Chris Jericho quickly embraced MJF as the new member of that group.

This is where the storyline gets a little bit more intriguing. Will see what happens next.

In a backstage segment, Orange Cassidy apologized to Penelope Ford for "hurting her" after Kip Sabian told him to do so.

After that, he and the rest of Best Friends walked out.

How's that Miro AEW run so far, huh?

Jon Moxley vs Eddie Kingston For The AEW World Championship In An, I Quit Match.

What's with that green ranger looking attire that Eddie Kingston is wearing?

Did Eddie Kingston say "I Quit"?

The answer is yes and that is due to the headlock of some sort from Jon Moxley wrapped in barbed wire.

Kenny Omega showed up to point his finger on to the AEW championship.

The pacing of the show really affected my thoughts on the "I quit" match and I hate saying this because I love both performers.

In other words, I found this match to be quite boring.

So, to recap for all of you slow mofos.

Like: FTR vs The Young Bucks, Cody vs Darby Allin, Orange Cassidy vs John Silver, Hangman Page vs Kenny Omega, a few funny moments from the elite deletion Match.

Didn't like: that pacing, Jon Moxley vs Eddie Kingston.

WWE Extreme Rules 2019 | My Coherent Review.

Man, I'm impressed with WWE in terms of PPVs as of late because overall, this was a fantastic show in my opinion with great matches but the crowd was dead for most of the show so that sucks.  I finally watched the pre-show match between Finn Balor and Shinsuke Nakamura before I went to bed because the show aired at 2 am where I live and it was okay.  By the way, how interesting is it when on last year’s Extreme Rules show, Shinsuke Nakamura won the United States championship and now this year’s show, he won the intercontinental title. Also, it's funny that the intercontinental championship was the main event on last's year show and on this year's Extreme Rules PPV, it's on the preshow.  Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre vs Roman Reigns and The Undertaker.  Mike Rome did better in announcing "The Best In the world" this time than on RAW. Mike Rome's announcement a few weeks ago sounded like that one friend that thinks he/she knows how to ...

NXT Takeover: In Your House 2020 | A Coherent Review.

NXT Takeover: In Your House is like the rest of the Takeover shows, a fantastic 2 hours of professional wrestling.  What makes this show special is the additional nostalgia like how the show started with the NXT WWF inspired intro, the ice cream commercial narrated by William Regal doing his best Lord Alferd Hayes impression, icopro commercial and last but not least, Todd Pettengill.  This is a show that I'm definitely rewatching in years to come.  Mia Yim, Tegan Nox And Shotzi Blackheart vs Raquel Gonzalez, Candice LeRae And Dakota Kai.  A decent opening match. During the match, Nox did a Molly Holly top rope on to every competitor in the match.  Yim tried to give LeRae some Seoul Food but LeRae reversed that into a suplex. Several minutes later, Shotzi did a Salida Del Sol of some sort on Gonzalez to which Nox delivered the shiniest wizard on Kai and won the match.  Finn Balor vs Damian Priest. I actually thought that the closing mo...

The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Holy Sh*t, The Revival Are All Elite, Matt Riddle vs Timothy Thatcher In A Unique Steel Cage Match.

Both shows had its weak points but overall, that was an enjoyable 4 hours of professional wrestling television. I personally liked AEW Dynamite this week.  From an awesome women's match with Shida and Christi Jaynes to The Revival showing up, AEW managed to give me a solid episode and successfully furthered their storylines to next week's exciting show.  NXT   Highlights (at least in my opinion because wrestling is subjective).  Kushida vs Drake Maverick vs Jake Atlas. Triple Threat Match Interim Cruiserweight Championship Tournament.  What a way to kick off this episode of NXT, am I right? Atlas delivered the rainbow DDT but Kushida broke Jake's pin.  Speaking of Kushida, he nailed the armbar submission, however, Drake pinned Atlas because Atlas' shoulders were on the mat and will meet El Hijo Del Fantasma for the finals next week.  I don't know if Drake is rehired or he's going to be rehired but Maverick has a big ta...
