WWE NXT Takeover: XXV | My Coherent Review.

Look guys, I don't need to tell you this. This was a great show. Now, you're probably be asking "if you don't need to tell me this then why are you to quote yourself, TELLING ME THIS!?" Good question but the reason why is because I like to talk about great pro wrestling.

Matt Riddle vs Roderick Strong.

... and takes down Strong with a German Suplex.

An absolute must rewatch match for me and a must watch for you guys if you haven't seen it. Match started off with some amateur wrestling style takedown from both guys.

Then, Roderick Strong hit a modified back suplex on the ring apron. By then, Riddle hits Strong with a brainbuster. Riddle had the highlight of that match by hitting Strong with a go to sleep (yes, that go to sleep) into a German suplex with a bridge.

Roderick hits a powerbomb pin into a Boston crab then the match ends with Riddle delivered with a move that I wish I knew what the name of it was.

Street Profits vs The Forgotten Sons (in Steve Cutler and Wesley Blake) vs The Undisputed Era (in Kyle O'Reilly and Bobby Fish) vs Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch for the NXT Tag Team Championship in a Ladder Match.

Street Profits, Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch, Forgotten Sons and Undisputed ERA brawl at the start of the match.

During the match, both Angelo Dawkins and Steve Cutler did a dive onto everybody. After that, The Street Profits hits a leapfrog on Steve Cutler while Cutler was laying on the ladder.

The Forgotten Sons had a moment of their own by delivering a double team reverse DDT position into a stomp to. Jaxson Ryker showed up and because the match has no DQ and no count outs, he threw Angelo Dawkins onto the outside but then, The Undisputed Era, Street Profits, Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan were beating up Ryker and threw him onto the outside.

The match ended with Angelo Dawkins spearing Cutler, Montez Ford grabbed the titles and became NXT Tag Team Champions. A very good match but it wasn't the best ladder match in the history of Takeover shows and you know what match I'm referring to. Congratulations to the Street Profits.

Velveteen Dream vs Tyler Breeze for the NXT North American Championship.

... but His Purple Highness immediately strikes back!

Velveteen rocking that Prince inspired in ring gear but then again, that's what the Velveteen Dream character was inspired by. Kind of. Tyler at one point delivered a roll up into a half Boston crab which looked very impressive and knocked The Velveteen Dream out with a dropkick that sends Dream to the outside.

Velveteen Dream then took a selfie with Tyler while Tyler was out on the announce table because of the beating he took. Velveteen Dream then hits the Dream DT to Tyler but Tyler kicked out of TWOOOOOOOO! Tyler tried to hit a tombstone piledriver but Dream reversed it and hits the unprettier minutes later.

Tyler hits the unprettier of his own and The Dream kicked out. Tyler hits his old finish in the spinning heel kick aka the beauty shit but Dream retreated on the outside. The match ended with Tyler distracted by the Dream and Velveteen Dream hits the death valley driver and the purple rainmaker to retain his championship.

After the match, Tyler Breeze asked for a selfie and The North American champion accepted it. The way the finish played out, it looks like we're gonna get a rematch but I could be wrong. This was solid but it could've got 5 minutes longer if you ask me.

Also, a now known Damian Priest got video package aired and I'm looking forward to him punishing his opponents (see what I just did there?)

Shayna Baszler vs Io Shirai for the NXT Women's Championship.

The Genius of the Sky scores with a brutal kick...

Obviously, this ain't a Shayna Baszler match without an arm stomp and I will always cringe seeing it. Shirai delivered a crossface but Shayna got out of that with a slam.

Shirai hits a picture perfect moonsault to Shayna. Io was about to hit another moonsault but Shayna's gang came out and Candice LeRae hits them from behind with a kendo stick.

Io delivered Shayna with a roll up and a bridge but Shayna reversed that into a clutch submission. Io taps out softly and Shayna Baszler regains her NXT Women's Championship. After the match, Io viciously hits Baszler with a kendo stick, a moonsault while Io was holding a steel chair and a "you deserve it" chants to Baszler for good measure.

This was okay. Taking the title away from the Queen Of Spades wouldn't be a good move and I'm glad that didn't happen.

Johnny Gargano vs Adam Cole for the NXT Championship.

WWE Photo

Shout out to Josiah Williams from Wrestle Flow for rapping his recreation of the Undisputed Era theme song live (click here to listen to it via Instagram). Oh, and Johnny Gargano had a Captain Marvel inspired gear (can't wait to see some people crapping on his ring gear because it's Captain Marvel).

The Match started off slow with an arm submission applied by Johnny Champion to Adam Cole. Then, Adam hits a DDT and a dropkick from the top rope onto Johnny's leg. Johnny then delivered a spinning STO of some sort from the middle rope to Adam Cole.

Adam Cole hits Johnny with a backstabber when Johnny jumped from the top rope. Minutes later, both men hit a superkick on the outside and when both men broke the count, Johnny delivered a slingshot DDT to Cole. Cole managed to survive that and delivered a reverse fireman's carry into a knee strike on Johnny's head.

Gargano fearlessly dives through the rope, but Cole is waiting with a savage kick to the face!

Speaking of his head, Johnny did a suicide dive but Adam reversed that with a superkick. Johnny hits Cole with the last shot after Adam delivered the Gargano escape to Gargano. Adam then finally hits the last shot to the NXT Champion but Gargano escapes as Mauro would like to put it. Johnny took out the ref with a dive and Johnny superkicks Adam but the ref can't make the call.

Adam does the Canadian Destroyer and the second last shot to win the NXT Championship for the first time. This match EXCEEDED the Takeover: New York and it's all thanks to those two men right there. What a match and what a way to end a Takeover show.

So, to recap for all of you slow mofos:

Like: Matt Riddle vs Roderick Strong, the NXT Tag Team Championship ladder match, Johnny Gargano vs Adam Cole II.

Didn't like: Nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing.

WWE Extreme Rules 2019 | My Coherent Review.

Man, I'm impressed with WWE in terms of PPVs as of late because overall, this was a fantastic show in my opinion with great matches but the crowd was dead for most of the show so that sucks.  I finally watched the pre-show match between Finn Balor and Shinsuke Nakamura before I went to bed because the show aired at 2 am where I live and it was okay.  By the way, how interesting is it when on last year’s Extreme Rules show, Shinsuke Nakamura won the United States championship and now this year’s show, he won the intercontinental title. Also, it's funny that the intercontinental championship was the main event on last's year show and on this year's Extreme Rules PPV, it's on the preshow.  Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre vs Roman Reigns and The Undertaker.  Mike Rome did better in announcing "The Best In the world" this time than on RAW. Mike Rome's announcement a few weeks ago sounded like that one friend that thinks he/she knows how to ...

NXT Takeover: In Your House 2020 | A Coherent Review.

NXT Takeover: In Your House is like the rest of the Takeover shows, a fantastic 2 hours of professional wrestling.  What makes this show special is the additional nostalgia like how the show started with the NXT WWF inspired intro, the ice cream commercial narrated by William Regal doing his best Lord Alferd Hayes impression, icopro commercial and last but not least, Todd Pettengill.  This is a show that I'm definitely rewatching in years to come.  Mia Yim, Tegan Nox And Shotzi Blackheart vs Raquel Gonzalez, Candice LeRae And Dakota Kai.  A decent opening match. During the match, Nox did a Molly Holly top rope on to every competitor in the match.  Yim tried to give LeRae some Seoul Food but LeRae reversed that into a suplex. Several minutes later, Shotzi did a Salida Del Sol of some sort on Gonzalez to which Nox delivered the shiniest wizard on Kai and won the match.  Finn Balor vs Damian Priest. I actually thought that the closing mo...

The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Holy Sh*t, The Revival Are All Elite, Matt Riddle vs Timothy Thatcher In A Unique Steel Cage Match.

Both shows had its weak points but overall, that was an enjoyable 4 hours of professional wrestling television. I personally liked AEW Dynamite this week.  From an awesome women's match with Shida and Christi Jaynes to The Revival showing up, AEW managed to give me a solid episode and successfully furthered their storylines to next week's exciting show.  NXT   Highlights (at least in my opinion because wrestling is subjective).  Kushida vs Drake Maverick vs Jake Atlas. Triple Threat Match Interim Cruiserweight Championship Tournament.  What a way to kick off this episode of NXT, am I right? Atlas delivered the rainbow DDT but Kushida broke Jake's pin.  Speaking of Kushida, he nailed the armbar submission, however, Drake pinned Atlas because Atlas' shoulders were on the mat and will meet El Hijo Del Fantasma for the finals next week.  I don't know if Drake is rehired or he's going to be rehired but Maverick has a big ta...
