Playard Wrestling Post

AEW had a big mission to accomplish ever since their announcement as a wrestling entity and that is to deliver an enjoyable and memorable PPV titled " Double Or Nothing ." That mission was successful both critically and financially.  And yet, due to the unique times, we're living in, Double Or Nothing managed to score a second W in the show's history. This was an entertaining 3 and a half hours of professional wrestling. Oh, and I've not seen the preshow match so I can't talk about it.  Frank Kazarian vs Joey Janela (replacing Rey Fenix due to an injury) vs Scorpio Sky vs Darby Allin vs Kip Sabian vs Christopher Daniels vs Orange Cassidy vs Colt Cabana vs Luchasaurus vs Brian Cage. Casino Ladder  Number One Contender's Match For The AEW World Championship.  The match started off as a gauntlet match which is a unique take for a multi-person ladder match that definitely separates from the rest. During the match, Allin tried to deliver a move thr...

Hopefully, I can be consistent with this series because I am back to recap NXT and AEW Dynamite in the coherent wrestling Wednesdays.  AEW's go-home show for Double Or Nothing was kinda mediocre while NXT was a decent show that had a few issues.  If you were curious on my predictions regarding Double Or Nothing this coming Saturday then click here to check it out and scroll down. However, it is a bit dated given that I posted the article yesterday.   NXT  Highlights (at least in my opinion because wrestling is subjective).  We Got the First Official Match At Takeover: In Your House.  After Kross had a squash match once again, out came the psycho killer himself, Tomato Ciampa and he put over the specimen that is Karrion Kross and challenged him to a match between himself and Kross because "that is special", according to Ciampa.  A very good opening segment. It was short and to the point. Kross is someone to be watche...

I've missed over two weeks worth of " The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays " and to quote Steve Irkel (paraphrasing of course), why did it do that?  Well, last week, I overslept and didn't feel like reviewing both NXT and AEW Dynamite. This week was the same but without the oversleeping part (laziness is the word you're looking for, Omar).  I'm not going to recap everything that happened in all two episodes of NXT and AEW Dynamite but rather mention some of the highlights and connect the dots with those episodes if that makes sense?  Before I start this, I wanna send my dearest thoughts and condolences to Shad Gaspard's family and friends.  Gaspard’s work in WWE with JTG as the duo Cryme Tyme and even his creative endeavours like the novel he wrote will live on forever. He left this world by saving his son and that tells you how great of a human being Shad Gaspard is. Rest easy, big man.  Now, let's talk about some wrasslin, shall we?  NXT  ...

This is the coherent wrestling Wednesdays where I usually give you my thoughts on NXT and AEW but since NXT was literally a highlight reel, I'm only going to talk about the latest edition of AEW Dynamite. So, how did TNT's only wrestling show do this week?  Going into this show, I was afraid of how this episode will turn out because unlike WWE, they don't have a huge library of matches to fill  2 hours of programming.  But after witnessing this show, AEW did a fantastic job of executing the episode with an empty crowd. They put WWE to shame on how to air a wrestling TV show with no crowd and this is coming from the resident WWE shill.  Highlights.  Cody And His Elite Buddies Address Their Match At Blood And Guts.  The American nightmare starts off this episode of Dynamite in an empty area with a great promo about social distancing, Tony Khan his upcoming blood and guts match and his fellow Elite member, Nick Jackson.  Speaking of The Elit...
