The 5 News Week: Reports On Goldust’s Contract Situation, Maryse On A Possible Return To WWE.

Hello, my fellow wrestling fans and welcome to the 5 news week. The post where I report 5 major or minor news of the week that I don't have time to do it separately. Without further ado, here are the 5 news week. WWE To Unite The RAW and The Smackdown Live Women’s Championships At Wrestlemania 35?  On this past week’s episode of Smackdown Live, we’ve witnessed Charlotte put on a great match with Asuka for the Smackdown Live women’s championship to which Charlotte captured the championship. Making her an 8-time women’s champion.  Anyways, since that title change, Rumours has been going around that WWE might unify the RAW and Smackdown Live women’s championships at Wrestlemania 35. I did some digging and that rumour came from Slice Wrestling and they’re not a reliable entity. Always guys, check who’s the source because then you’ll know who’s legit or not.  Initial Plans For The Smackdown Live Women’s Championship Match At Wrestlemania 35.   Speaking of the Smackdown Live wo

WWE NXT 27/3/19 | My Coherent Review.

This episode of NXT was a solid effort from the NXT creative team but it wasn't all that amazing besides one particular segment. Oh, and the band Disturbed’s new song is one of the theme songs for NXT Takeover New York and when was the last time a Disturbed song has been a theme song for a PPV? (Wow, that's a lot of a’s).  Adam Cole Wants to Make His Championship Match Undisputed.  The show started off with The Undisputed Era leader himself, Adam Cole. Cole cut a promo about how he outlasted 4 of the best NXT superstars.  He then called out Johnny Gargano to which Johhny Gargano came out with “Johnny Wrestling, Adam Cole” chants from the full sail crowd that lasted in what feels like forever and Cole told the crowd that he doesn't need their support while Gargano said that he loves the “Johnny Wrestling” chants. After that, Gargano said that Adam Cole is in the fight of his life at Takeover.  Adam Cole replied by calling Gargano “Johnny Participation” (whic

WWE Smackdown Live 26/3/19 | My Coherent Review.

This was a very eventful show but was it good? Yes. Matter fact, it was a great show and here's why.  Opening Segment.  The show kicked off with The New Day after another great performance by Kofi in that gauntlet match last week. They cut a promo basically thanking the fans for being with them in this journey.  They also said that Kofi has been treated so poorly for the past 11 years and Kofi is a great example of the power of positivity. Xavier Woods then called out Vince McMahon for answers and out came the chairman himself.  Vince was about to say something until Daniel Bryan came out and said that if they wanna quit then let them quit. Xavier Woods replied by saying that Daniel Bryan is becoming what Bryan used to hate 5 years ago.  Vince told them to “SHUT UP!” and decided to put Xavier Woods and Big E in a tag team gauntlet match. If they win that match then Kofi gets to go to WrestleMania. Decent segment.  Backstage Interview with Sarah Schreiber

WWE RAW 25/3/19 | My Coherent Review.

This episode of RAW was filled with boredom for the most part but it had good segments here and there. However, At least it was better than last week's show.  Opening Segment.   The show kicked off with WWE repeating their announcement from yesterday I believe that for the first time ever, the RAW Women's championship will main event WrestleMania 35. Obviously, this is a HUGE and I've nothing but positive things about this.  After that, a beat the clock challenge was announced for tonight between Becky Lynch vs Liv Morgan, Ronda Rousey vs Sarah Logan and Charlotte vs Ruby Riott. Ronda Rousey then cut a promo basically saying that she will tap out both Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch.  She then made fun of the beat the clock challenge and the first beat the clock challenge match has started between Ronda Rousey and Sarah Logan. Out came Becky Lynch and she called Ronda a weirdo which made me laugh.  Charlotte Flair came out and the queen said that she

Shawn Micheals vs Ric Flair Wrestlemania 24 And Why I Love This Match.

With Fastlane 2019 over and done with ( click here to read my review for Fastlane 2019) and Wrestlemania 35 right around the corner, I wanna talk about my all-time favourite professional wrestling match and that is Shawn Michaels vs Ric Flair at Wrestlemania 24.  Before I get to talk about the match itself, I first have to talk about the build for this match. Let’s rewind the clock back to 2007. Ric Flair came back to RAW on November 26th from Smackdown! (remember when he was on Smackdown because I sure didn't) after a 3-month hiatus due to him entering into the political game in his home state of North Carolina, starting his own marketing company and pursued opportunities for investment.  In that segment, Ric Flair announced to the world that he will never retire because he loves this business so much. Out came Vince McMahon and the chairman of the board said that if Flair doesn't win a match then his career is over basically stating that Ric Flair is dead weight and doe

The 5 News Week: Backstage News On Asuka’s Challenger At Wrestlemania?, Mustafa Ali On Overcoming Stereotypes.

Hello, my fellow wrestling fans and welcome to the 5 news week. The post where I report 5 major or minor news of the week that I don't have time to do it separately. Without further ado, here are the 5 news week. Backstage News On Asuka’s Challengers At Wrestlemania?  If you have been watching Smackdown Live as of late then you’ll know that Asuka right now has no creative direction going into Wrestlemania but that could change according to the Wrestling Observer.   The plan as of a few weeks ago was for Lacy Evans of all people to challenge Asuka for the Smackdown Live Women’s Championship and it was internally listed officially for Wrestlemania but that got nixed.  Why you might ask? Well, Vince McMahon has an interest on Lacy Evans and she might get a push after Wrestlemania because of her big star potential.  If this is the plan then WWE is gonna have a hard time convincing (get it? Vince? conVINCING? ) to the audience that Evans is a championship contender right no

WWE NXT 13/3/19 | My Coherent Review.

Last week's episode of NXT was one of the best NXT show of 2019 so far. The question is, Can this episode of NXT top that? No, but it was a decent episode though.  Mustache Mountain vs The Forgotten Sons.  This was a decent match. During the match, Tyler Bate delivered a double aeroplane spin to Steve Cutler and Wesley Blake. The match ended with The Forgotten Sons did a reversed DDT into a double stomp from the top rope, won the match and is in the finals of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.  After the match, Matt Riddle was interrupted by Adam Cole and Adam said that he's deserving of a North American championship match. Riddle then proposed a match between himself and Adam Cole. Count me in.  Io Shirai vs Bianca Belair.  This was okay. The match ended in a DQ because of the champ Shayna Baszler and she put Bianca Belair, Io Shirai and Kairi Sane to sleep with a clutch submission. Gotta be honest, not a fan of that ending.  I get it that WWE wants to s

WWE Smackdown Live 12/3/19 | My Coherent Review.

I didn't realize this until reading this review but there were three tag team matches on this episode of Smackdown Live. Anyways, this was a good effort from the SmackDown creative team and I appreciate that it didn't make the build for Wrestlemania confusing if that makes sense.   Shane McMahon Addresses His Actions At Fastlane.   The show started off with Shane McMahon with no cheap pop because he's a heel now obviously. Shane McMahon then forced the ring announcer to call him the best in the world.  After that, McMahon cut a promo basically saying that he's sick of everything and he's born to be the best in the world. Shane also said that it feels good for him to be the crap out of The Miz and he's gonna continue to give The Miz a beating on the grandest stage of them all.  You know what? I like this segment and the crowd booing Shane made the segment much better to watch honestly. In other words, It was short but sweet.  Aleister Black, Ri

WWE RAW 11/3/19 | My Coherent Review.

This fallout show after Fastlane was quite poor and it's a great example of why RAW needs to get rid of the third hour. Don't know why the RAW after a PPV is usually not a good show but that's WWE for you.  Opening Segment. The show started with The Shield and Michael Cole at one point actually mentioned Dean Ambrose's contract expiration which is VERY rare. Anyways, Roman Reigns wanted a singles match tonight and told Rollins to stay the beast. After that, Reigns and Ambrose left the arena to give Seth some space. Out came Paul Heyman and he gave his usual stick.  Seth Rollins replied by saying that guys like Balor, Styles and Daniel Bryan took Brock Lesnar’s limit and respects those guys but Seth is the only one that can slay the beast.  Heyman then made excuses as to why Styles, Balor and Daniel took the Beast’s limit which led to Shelton Benjamin outta nowhere suplexes Seth and a match was made between those two. Speaking of which….. Seth Rollins
