WWE Smackdown Live 12/3/19 | My Coherent Review.

I didn't realize this until reading this review but there were three tag team matches on this episode of Smackdown Live. Anyways, this was a good effort from the SmackDown creative team and I appreciate that it didn't make the build for Wrestlemania confusing if that makes sense.

Shane McMahon Addresses His Actions At Fastlane.

Shane says he’s tired of the WWE Universe, the Superstars, the thousands of WWE employees trying to use him to get ahead in life…
The show started off with Shane McMahon with no cheap pop because he's a heel now obviously. Shane McMahon then forced the ring announcer to call him the best in the world.

After that, McMahon cut a promo basically saying that he's sick of everything and he's born to be the best in the world. Shane also said that it feels good for him to be the crap out of The Miz and he's gonna continue to give The Miz a beating on the grandest stage of them all.

You know what? I like this segment and the crowd booing Shane made the segment much better to watch honestly. In other words, It was short but sweet.

Aleister Black, Ricochet and The Hardy Boyz vs The Bar, Rusev and Shinsuke Nakamura.

This was decent. The match ended in a DQ because of The New Day and they wreaked havoc. Beating up all the heel teams.

After that, The Usos cut a promo basically calling out all the SmackDown Live tag teams.

Randy Orton Airs His Frustrations About AJ Styles.

“AJ was in Florida getting a tan with Dixie Carter when I was here main-eventing WrestleMania,” Orton declares.
In that promo, Randy Orton basically said that this is not the house that AJ Styles build but rather this is the house that Randy Orton build and he mentioned TNA but not by name. Out came AJ Styles and he said that Randy won't survive in the indie world because Randy always needed help.

Randy then said “I'm the landlord and rents due you son of a bitch. You could make that check out to the most destructive letters in sports entertainment and that's R. K. O.” AJ replied by saying that he can get his rent back at Wrestlemania. Pretty good segment and I'm looking forward to this match at Wrestlemania.

Asuka vs Sonya Deville.

WWE Photo
This was okay. Asuka won the match with the Asuka lock. After the match, both members of fire and Desire seemed to be not on the same page.

Then, there was a backstage promo by The IIconics basically calling Sasha Banks and Bayley out.

Becky Lynch Addresses Her Match At Wrestlemania For The RAW Women's championship.

She vows to take what they̢۪ve been trying to take from her and give to someone else.
Becky Lynch came out with her own two feet this time. She described how she's suspected, unsuspected, arrested and then being part of the biggest women's championship match ever basically describing how the build for this match was a mess.

Out came the queen and Charlotte said that she's putting all the work and she's being on top for four years. Becky Lynch replied by raising her hand up. Another decent segment. Why's the build for this match on SmackDown is much more simple to follow and his more of a direction than RAW’s build for the most part?

Kayla Braxton interviewed Daniel Bryan about Vince McMahon made a tag team match between Him, Rowan, Mustafa Ali and Kevin Owens.

R Truth and Rey Mysterio vs Samoa Joe and Andrade.

WWE Photo
The match was okay. The team of R Truth and Rey Mysterio won the match with a roll-up pin from Rey Mysterio. I don't mind this finish. Maybe Rey wins the championship and faces Andrade at Wrestlemania? That's something worth exciting for Wrestlemania.

Daniel Bryan and Rowan vs Kevin Owens and Mustafa Ali.

Decent match. The team of Daniel Bryan and Rowan won the match with the face slam or as it's known now, the iron claw from Rowan to Mustafa Ali.

Vince McMahon Talks To Kofi Kingston About A Wrestlemania Match.

After Woods makes the case for his fellow New Day member, The Dreadlocked Dynamo reminds Mr. McMahon that he never complains about anything, from missing time with his family to never getting a chance to compete for the WWE Title, and he demands to know what he needs to do to contend for the WWE Championship.
Vince McMahon came out and showed the crowd a video package about what happened to Kofi Kingston at Fastlane (click here to read my review for it). Then, Out came Kofi Kingston, Big E and Xavier Woods with pissed off looks on their faces and Big E said that Kofi deserves this WWE championship opportunity (By the way, how good is Big E on the mic?).

Vince McMahon replied by saying that he would've got a WWE championship match a long time and Kofi belongs in the Hall of fame but as part of The New Day.

Kofi Kingston then said that he's been a loyal soldier for too long and all he wants is to be a champion. Vince then said that if you want a WWE title match then Kofi is going to be in a gauntlet match next week. I love this segment if I'm being honest with you.

It made me invested in Kofi’s journey to be champion and we've seen stories like this in the  WWE before but the difference is that it's a story about a veteran. A babyface veteran that wants a shot of glory.

So, to recap for all of you slow mofos:

Didn't like: Nothing.

WWE Smackdown Live 10/7/18 | My Coherent Review.

Smackdown live was a bad show that did nothing as a wrestling fan to gain any excitement for extreme rules. Why you ask? Well i'm gonna give you what's good. No scratch that, i'm gonna give you what's ok and what's bad. Here we go. WHAT'S OK The opening segment and the brawl after that The opening segment was meh. And the brawl after that was fine. Didn't make me go "OHHHHHHHHHHH" or anything like along those lines. That brawl leads to a TEN MAN TAG TEAM match (Ummmmmm no shit omar). I will say this, the segment kinda teased the fact that maybe kane will turn on his best friend? I don't know. Should be interesting.  Andrade "cien" almas vs Sin cara The match was surprisingly decent. At one point andrade delivered a devastating stomp to sin cara on the ring apron. Andrade wins with a running knee to sin cara on the middle rope. Hoping andrade can move on to bigger and better things.  WHAT'S BAD ...

The Obsession With Ratings. Warranted Or Not?

(Just a bit of a heads-up, this article contains a lot of the word "ratings").  Rating. Rating. Rating. It is a word that you see or hear many times throughout your wrestling fandom but why is that?  Well, it's interesting to see how your weekly consumption does by the numbers every week.  However, that conversation can turn the other way.  The toxic, " logic-filled" , gatekeeping way that is (you see why I muted the word "rating" on Twitter?).  Fans have been talking about TV ratings for years but that discussion has skyrocketed once AEW Dynamite and NXT airs on the same night every week ya know because wrestling fans am I right?  Before I answer the question of whether the obsession with TV ratings is warranted or not, I'll first have to briefly describe the Nielsen rating (which is an American TV rating system. No sh*t, Omar).  A Summary Of The History Of The Nielsen Ratings.  The Nielsen rating system was introduced...

Should Dave Meltzer Get Rid Of His Rating System?

So a few weeks ago, good old Dave Meltzer of the wrestling observer newsletter gave the Kazuchika Okada vs Kenny omega match at dominion 2018 a 7-star rating. According to the interent wrestling database , this match is by far his HIGHEST match rating ever (i don't blame him because the match was amazing). So statistically, this is his favourite match of all time . Now, why I'm writing this now?  Well, his best match ratings have been a consistent 5 stars since 1983 with the exception of all the Omega vs Okada matches and the Mitsuharu Misawa vs Toshiaki Kawada match at AJPW's Budokan hall show in June of 1994.  There are fans that take his match ratings as an offence somehow like "Why he rates X match better than Y match?" or thinks that he "hates" WWE which is ridiculous considering that he gave three WWE matches a 5 star ratings just this past year. One was the ladder match to crown the first ever NXT North American champion, the Johnny Garga...
