Playard Wrestling Post

I'm back from a month hiatus from not reviewing this show and the question is, Did I miss something?  Not really but the show was meh (you're going to see a lot of the word "meh" in this recap) but meh is better than horrible so for that, the blue brand has improved the quality of storytelling in certain aspects of course.   Miz TV. Special Guest, John Morrison.  Miz mentioned in his promo about how his statement aka a beating from Miz to Kofi was him having a bad day at the office and apologizes to the New Day member. He then introduced his best friend John Morrison who by the way is rocking the 2006 blonde hair kinda look.  Morrison stated that he's disappointed at the fans for chanting at Miz "you suck" and proceeds to insult the fans for not working as hard as Miz inside the squared circle. The New Day showed up and they asked him who is Miz fooling? That back and forth led to a match and speaking of which…. Kofi Kingston ...

I'm not a fan of the Smackdown on Fox episodes so far except one which was the NXT Invasion episode but this episode was really good thanks to you guessed it, the invasion between all brands.  Will see how SmackDown does creatively following Survivor Series and beyond. Hoping that the shows after this are not a snooze fest.  Smackdown Prepare Their One Last Brawl With RAW And NXT.  The show opened with Roman Reigns giving his Smackdown troops some motivation few days before Survivor Series.  Sasha Banks as Smackdown team captain for the women's 5 on 5 on 5 tag team traditional Survivor Series match, brought her team members to the ring and called out RAW.  Smackdown got their wish and Team RAW showed up and Charlotte challenged Sasha to a match for old times sake.  Team NXT entered the house that AJ Styles built in Smackdown and Rhea Ripley wanted this match to be a triple threat match between herself, Banks and Flair and that's t...

NXT has taken over and to quote Robert Roode, it was glorious. I don't know how this show will turn out if it was a regularly scheduled show.  This is the best Smackdown on FOX episode and that's all thanks to NXT. I know that's due to most superstars having travelling issues from Saudi Arabia back to the States but they’ve managed to give us a fun episode and it was something that we haven't seen coming.  Brock Lesnar Is Pissed Off.  The beast and the advocate started off this episode of Smackdown and Paul says that Brock is angry. The reason is? Rey Mysterio hits Lesnar with a series of chair shots which is funny to say given that I said the exact opposite in my Crown Jewel review.  Heyman went on to say that Brock Lesnar officially quits Friday Night SmackDown in order to appear on Monday Night RAW this coming week to hunt Rey Mysterio. They did show us the full WWE championship at Crown Jewel so depending on who you are, you may like it or not like it...

Another disappointing episode of Friday night Smackdown but it was a bit better this week. Still, a meh episode.  Miz TV. Special Guest, Team Hulk Hogan And Team Ric Flair.  Both team Hulk Hogan and team Flair were guests on the latest edition of Miz TV or at least most of it due to a brand split. Hulk Hogan mentioned in his promo that he's put out the greatest team Hulkamania of all time (are the mega powers and Brutus Beefcake a joke to you brother?)  Ric Flair replied by basically saying that his team will beat Hogan's team at Crown Jewel. Sami Zayn made a short joke and Gable tells Zayn that he embraces who he is.  Roman Reigns called King Corbin stupid to which Hogan proposed a match in the main event of this episode between most of team Hogan vs most of team Flair in a 6 man tag team match.  Sami on behalf of the team, refused to accept that but after Hogan said something to Nakamura in Japanese, Sami told Hogan that the 6 man tag ma...

This show other than the opening segment and match, was just not interesting and I'm hoping that it's just a filler week for them so that they hammer back their creative strengths next Friday or Saturday morning where I live.  Erick Rowan Claims That "Might Is Right". Erick Rowan showed up with a killswitch engage shirt which I've not noticed it till I watched the YouTube version of this segment and he conveys to the fans that might is right (not gonna lie, that was a good line). Daniel Bryan came out and didn't buy that BS so he challenged him to a very competitive match with many near falls from the big man.  Luke Harper emerges at the end and due to his distractions, Erick Rowan delivered the iron claw which was botched but he got it with a second Iron Claw and won the match.  Roman Reigns makes the save to end a 2 on 1 beating. This is where my fickle wrestling fan side comes in (no pun intended), the mystery side of that story sucked bu...

Smackdown Live was like Clash of Champions, okay overall. That’s it.  Oh, you wanna know why I feel this way? Okay, well here you go.  The New Day vs The Revival And Randy Orton.  This show started off with a match. A 6 man tag team match in fact which is a nice change of pace. for this show. Wish I could say the same thing about this match. Not that I have a problem with this match but rather it was okay. The match ended with Big E preventing an RKO machine and Kofi delivers the trouble in paradise to win this match but then, out came Brock Lesnar along with Paul Heyman and no, it's not a typo. Heyman said that it's a bad day for the New Day yes it is and was informed that Brock Lesnar challenges Kofi to match for the WWE title on Friday Night SmackDown premiere on FOX. Kofi accepts it and ate an F5 afterwards.  This is no pun intended, big news and Kofi has faced Lesnar before so will the outcome be the same on Friday? Will find out soon. Also, whe...
