WWE Smackdown 25/10/19 | My Coherent Review.

Another disappointing episode of Friday night Smackdown but it was a bit better this week. Still, a meh episode.

Miz TV. Special Guest, Team Hulk Hogan And Team Ric Flair.

WWE Photo
Both team Hulk Hogan and team Flair were guests on the latest edition of Miz TV or at least most of it due to a brand split. Hulk Hogan mentioned in his promo that he's put out the greatest team Hulkamania of all time (are the mega powers and Brutus Beefcake a joke to you brother?)

Ric Flair replied by basically saying that his team will beat Hogan's team at Crown Jewel. Sami Zayn made a short joke and Gable tells Zayn that he embraces who he is.

Roman Reigns called King Corbin stupid to which Hogan proposed a match in the main event of this episode between most of team Hogan vs most of team Flair in a 6 man tag team match.

WWE Photo
Sami on behalf of the team, refused to accept that but after Hogan said something to Nakamura in Japanese, Sami told Hogan that the 6 man tag match is on but Zayn can't compete so he brought in Cesaro to replace him and then a brawl ensued.

Who would have thought that Roman Reigns cut the best promo out of guys like Flair? This opening segment was far better than the opening segment of this past week's episode of RAW in terms of building the team Hogan vs team Flair match at Crown Jewel.

WWE Photo

However, it wasn't great due to how the segment ended in a generic note with a brawl because there's a lot of dudes on screen which means they gonna have them beat each other in the name of sports entertainment.

Also, I actually don't mind G's attire but then again, I have a terrible fashion sense so.

The New Day in Kofi Kingston And Big E vs Robert Roode And Dolph Ziggler.

WWE Photo
The number one contender for the Smackdown tag team titles took an L with a roll-up from Ziggler to Kingston. *sarcastically smiling* nice.

Oh, and The Revival show up to gang up the New Day only for Heavy Machinery to make the save. The match was short and forgettable.

Lacey Evans vs Local Jobber.

WWE Photo
Lacey Evans cut a promo before the match started saying that she doesn't want to entertain this.

Lacey Evans was walking outside the ring while the ref was counting till 9 until Evans immediately rushed back to the ring and knocked the enhancement talent out with the woman's right and won the match.

The Rebuilt Firefly Funhouse.

This firefly funhouse was actually a funeral for rabbit and Wyatt opens the small casket to kiss the rabbit.

That led to the rabbit being reincarnated thanks to that kiss but Mercy the Blizzard ate rabbit and died once again. I hate to piss some people off but The Fiend ain't winning the universal championship for obvious reasons. I honestly don't know where the ugly red belt goes from this feud.

Drew Gulak vs Kalisto.

WWE Photo
Drew was talking about ways that Fury will beat Braun Strowman in a PowerPoint presentation. Kalisto wasn't having it but thanks to Braun Strowman showing up, Kalisto won his singles match.

I went from being kinda interested to critiquing a pretty piss poor brawl to actually looking forward to the Strowman vs Fury match thanks to the contract signing last week.

Micheal Cole interviews Daniel Bryan.

WWE Photo
Cole asks Bryan is the yes movement is alive but when Sami Zayn and Shinsuke Nakamura came out, Zayn answered Micheal's question by showing footage of Daniel Bryan saying that the yes movement died on an episode of Smackdown in November.

Zayn offered Bryan to join him and Nakamura but Daniel left them hanging by leaving the ring.

The storyline they're telling is honestly great. Given that Bryan has got great crowd reactions, is the yes movement back in full effect or not and having the fans wait for that answer is fantastic storytelling. A very well executed segment indeed.

Nikki Cross vs Mandy Rose.

WWE Photo
This was aight. Cross won the match with a swinging neckbreaker to Mandy Rose.

Brock Lesnar And Cain Velasquez. Face To Face Confrontation.

WWE Photo
Rey Mysterio optimistically says that Dominic is doing well little by little and thanked the fans for their kind wishes. Mysterio warns Brock that Cain will give Lesnar another scar on the beast's face. Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman were in the titantron via backstage (if that makes sense) and Paul tells Mysterio to guess what Brock Lesnar did tonight.

Lesnar showed Velasquez and Mysterio that his son got the beating from the beast once again. The father and the godfather rushed backstage.

WWE Photo

When Rey and Cain were checking on Dominic, Brock snuck attacked them and they ate the F5. Cain then was furious at Brock and said something in Spanish that I clearly don't know the translation for. Brock being Brock is always great and for that, I'll give that segment a thumbs up.

Roman Reigns, Ali And Chad Gable vs King Corbin, Shinsuke Nakamura And Cesaro.

WWE Photo
King Corbin broke up the tag from Reigns but unfortunately for the winner of the 2019 King Of The Ring, Gable delivers him with a rolling senton kick, a swinging neckbreaker and a moonsault to a near fall.

The match ended with, of course, a spear from Roman Reigns and tagged Ali so that he hits the 450 splash and that's how the babyface team won the match. A decent match and the crowd ate that match up.

So, to recap for all of you slow mofos.

Like: Daniel Bryan's interaction with Sami Zayn, Roman Reigns' short and impressive promo, Brock being Brock.

Didn't like: Kofi Kingston losing his tag team match despite being the number one contender for the Smackdown tag team titles.

WWE Smackdown 17/12/21 | A Coherent Review.

Another week, another meh episode of Smackdown although the ending was pretty eye-opening.  Images via WWE.com   The Viking Raiders vs Jinder Mahal And Shanky.  After a backstage segment that included The Usos roasting Xavier Woods' kingship, the blue brand really started the show with a match (not this one) which is a rare thing to see on main roster television. And the match wasn't bad at all.  The Viking Raider defeated the team of Jinder and Shanky with a splash from Ivor. Does everyone want a Happy Corbin segment? Well, no and Drew McIntyre agrees as he took out Corbin and Madcap Moss to retrieve his sword which sounds like a bad King Arthur comedy flick or something.  Naomi Wants A Match With Sonya Deville.  Naomi is upset at how Sonya Deville acted like a Susan over the past few months so the glow queen challenged the actual manager to a match at Day 1 and Sonya was like, "Ahhhh, no".  Naomi then had a match with Shayna Baszler and within minute...

My Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Chris Jericho Offers Moxley To Join Inner Circle, The Go-Home Show Before Dec 18th.

I thought the middle act of AEW Dynamite suffered some pacing issues even though it was overall a much stronger show than last week's episode.  The latest episode of NXT, however, has built a solid foundation on what's to come on December 18th. The main question is, which show do I like better? The answer is AEW.  NXT  Highlights. Angel Garza vs Lio Rush For The NXT Cruiserweight Championship.  Was this match better than their first encounter? Like Snoop Dogg's verse in Sasha Banks' theme song, "Hell yea". Garza slams Rush hard on the ring apron by pushing the champ. Moments later, Garza delivers the Spanish Fly and Rush kicked out of that.  As Rush hits the frog splash, the champ wanted to pull him back in the middle of the ring but instead, he ripped off Garza's pants (nice attention to detail).  Angel then hits the wind clipper but Lio kicked out which led to a wind clipper submission and the man of the hour tapped out which m...

NXT Takeover Phoenix | My Coherent Review.

NXT Takeover was a great show with great wrestling, energetic crowd and intriguing storytelling (OMG, REALLY? I didn’t know that).  War Raiders vs The Undisputed Era (Kyle O’ Reilly and Roderick Strong) for the NXT Tag Team Championship.  First off, cool entrance by War Raiders. Secondly, the match was entertaining. At one point, Strong did a superplex to Hanson. The match ended with War Raiders delivered the Fallout to Kyle O ‘Reilly and won the match. War Raiders are the new NXT Tag Team Champions deservedly so.  Matt Riddle vs Kassius Ohno. During the match, Ohno hit Riddle right on his mouth which absolutely looked brutal. Minutes after that, Riddle hits Ohno with series of elbow strikes which made Ohno tap out and won the match. A very unique finish but nevertheless, this was a decent match.  Johnny Gargano vs Ricochet for the NXT North American Championship.  Those guys put on the absolute clinic of a wrestling match. But that ending ...
