WWE NXT 25/5/21 | A Bit Late Coherent Review.

NXT has once again, produced an engaging, well written, scripted and produced show. Why? Well *slaps his head multiple times* Here's why.

Ember Moon And Shotzi Blackheart vs Raquel Gonzalez And Dakota Kai.

The match ended with a win from the good guys to which they immediately got a BEATING from the NXT women's champion.

It is still so weird that Raquel made a u-turn to the good side and her babyface run didn't even last a week.

I will say, the opening contest was pretty good.

In a produced scene, Hit Row wants all of the championship gold. I'm hoping they fulfil the promise real quick because Hit Row is already one of my favourite groups in wrestling.

Speaking of promos, Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher simply stated that they wanted to beat the holy hell out of the Grizzled Young Veterans.

Zack Gibson and British Seth Green, James Blake, wanted to move on from Ciampa and Thatcher but they do not want to move on from Msk because they're here in NXT for one reason, championship gold.

I'm going to reveal an exclusive scoop on this review. Okay? Here it is.

The Grizzled Young Veterans are going to win the NXT tag team titles at some point this year. Please, follow this site for more accurate scoops (if you can't tell already, that was sarcasm).

Pete Dunne vs Bobby Fish.

A decent hard-hitting affair between the grappler and the striker although I wished it lasted for 5 more minutes.

After Dunne defeated Bobby Fish, Oney Lorcan relentlessly attacked an unconscious Bobby Fish because why not?

Mercedes Martinez vs Zayda Ramier.

This was a one-sided bout that did its job of keeping the so-called "momentum" for the 21-year veteran.

After the match, Mercedes encountered some bright red lights as well as smoke coming from under the ring.

This, of course, was a visual call from Tian Sha which means we're probably going to get a match between Martinez and Xia Li and honestly, I don't hate it.

Xia Li has been well booked in NXT since aligning herself with Tian Sha and it's only a benefit that she's placed in a rivalry with a veteran like Martinez. This only elevates Li's star power and I'm all for it.

Cameron Grimes Face To Face Confrontation With Ted Dibiase.

The segment took an unexpected turn when LA Knight showed up and wanted Dibiase to take the million-dollar legacy to new heights by teaming up with LA Knight.

Grimes wasn't too happy with what LA said, stating that Knight is simply no Cameron Grimes (ahhh, no sh*t?)

Grimes took a solid right hand and the scene ended with Ted Dibiase delivering his signature laugh.

Out of all the Grimes/Dibiase segments, this was by far the weakest of the bunch.

It wasn't bad but that segment was missing something and that "something" was the humour that goes into those segments.

Disappointed however not the worst thing I've seen all week.

After searching for Dexter Lumis, Indi Hartwell entered a room that was covered in papers with a drawing that detailed Dexter Lumis being stabbed after Hartwell called him a loser in a massage spa.

This is the usual part where I (sarcastically and kayfabe speaking) go all caps on why The Way are such pieces of crap for convincing Indi that she should stay away from Dexter but I'm so tired that I can't bring the energy to do so.

Finally, Franky Monet Made Her In-Ring Debut.

That entrance from Monet was a star-making performance. And, she can still wrestle her a** off.

An impressive debut from Franky Monet (her finisher was the glam slam and Beth Phoenix's reaction was priceless).

Bronson Reed Celebrates His North American Championship Victory Until…….

Santos Escobar along with the rest of Legado De La Fantasma made their presence and Escobar wanted something that is Bronson Reed and it is the North American championship (oh my God, really? I'm so surprised).

The stable tried to attack Bronson Reed however, the current NXT tag team champions, Msk, came to the rescue.

The highlight of this segment was how Santos Escobar delivers his dialogue. In other words, the dude is good at talking A LOT about himself or anything in general.

As far as the segment itself, it was fine for what it was.

In the final backstage promo of the night, the leader of the Imperium stable, Walter, said regarding the way Imperium kicked Alexander Wolfe out of the stable that there isn't room for weakness.

Based on last week's segment, the firing of Alexander Wolfe was planned and in the cards and it sucks because the dude is a talented performer.

Karrion Kross vs Finn Balor For The NXT Championship.

A technical main event exhibition that kicked all sorts of a*****.

It isn't a surprise that Karrion Kross retained the NXT championship here and the question is, where does Finn Balor go from here?

He has done everything on that brand and I can't see him contributing more to the black and gold brand.

Since DB is no longer with WWE, I would like to see Finn Balor trade himself to Smackdown and have himself feud with the likes of Cesaro or better yet, Roman Reigns but I'm just suggesting it here.

So, to recap for all of you slow mofos.

Like: Finn Balor vs Karrion Kross, Santos Escobar In the Bronson Reed celebration segment, an impressive debut from Franky Monet, Ember Moon and Shotzi Blackheart vs Raquel Gonzalez and Dakota Kai.

Didn't like: Cameron Grimes Face To Face Confrontation With Ted Dibiase.

The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Fyter Fest 2020 Came Back Swinging?

Last week, on this very series, I said that I enjoyed Great American Bash better than Fyter Fest.  Well, this week is the exact opposite. AEW came in swinging with night 2 Fyter Fest.  I've not liked a Dynamite episode in several weeks so it's nice to see that the show finally executed a great show since God knows how long.   NXT      Highlights (at least in my opinion because wrestling is subjective).  Mia Yim vs Candice LeRae In A Street Fight. The match went underway after Yim quickly attacked Candice LeRae during LeRae's entrance.  In the crowd area, Candice tried to nail the suplex on the table but Yim got out of that position and kicked her to which she landed through the table.  The Streetfight concluded with LeRae striking Yim with the brass knuckles followed by a swinging neck from the top of the table onto a bunch of chairs and that's how LeRae defeats the HBIC.  A fun opening match even though...

WWE Smackdown Season Premiere | A Coherent Review.

It is the season premiere of Friday night Smackdown even though WWE doesn't have an offseason.  Nevertheless, it was a decent program and had a WAY better ending than whatever the hell of an ending last year's premiere of Friday night Smackdown showed.  There isn't a women's match this week and all of the AEW fanboys are looking at this like, "sEe, WWE dOeSn't feATuRe wOmeN'S mAtChEs aLsO."  pictures via WWE.com The Season Premiere Of Smackdown 2020.  The show started off with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon highlighting the scheduled matches for Smackdown as well as the superstars.  Chaos then ensued thanks to a huge brawl. Then, the "super freak" Lars Sullivan came out and delivered the freak accident to Shorty G.  Somehow, Jeff Hardy attacked him and that led to the opening match of the night between Lars and Jeff.  You know, I'm kind of surprised that two white people in McMahon and Hemsley knew who Rick James is.  Maybe I'm igno...

THE Coherent AEW Take: Christian Dior, Dior. Eddie Kingston up in all the stores!

Ever since AEW Dynamite was on Saturday night for a bit, I've been WAY behind on AEW content so excuse my ignorance. And It's Full Gear weekend which means another PPV that would last longer than the Snyder cut.  Sheeit, I'll bet the collar and elbow hold alone from the Hangman Page and Kenny Omega championship match, is longer than the entire Queen's Crown tournament.  As far as how I feel about both programs this week, well.  They did an okay job on building towards the final AEW PPV of the year this Saturday. Rampage.   Highlights.  Bryan Danielson vs Anthony Bowens.  And no, the highlight doesn't include Max Caster's verses. I'll rather listen to f**king Riff Raff than Max Caster's dig on anything.  The worst part, people are probably going to look at this and say, "can't wait for a Max Caster's appearance on Wild 'N Out!"  With that being said, this opening match was good. Danielson wins with the rebel lock.  Eddie Kingston (wi...
