WWE Smackdown 10/1/20 | My Coherent Review.

I'm back from a month hiatus from not reviewing this show and the question is, Did I miss something?

Not really but the show was meh (you're going to see a lot of the word "meh" in this recap) but meh is better than horrible so for that, the blue brand has improved the quality of storytelling in certain aspects of course.

Miz TV. Special Guest, John Morrison.

WWE Photo
Miz mentioned in his promo about how his statement aka a beating from Miz to Kofi was him having a bad day at the office and apologizes to the New Day member. He then introduced his best friend John Morrison who by the way is rocking the 2006 blonde hair kinda look.

WWE Photo
Morrison stated that he's disappointed at the fans for chanting at Miz "you suck" and proceeds to insult the fans for not working as hard as Miz inside the squared circle. The New Day showed up and they asked him who is Miz fooling? That back and forth led to a match and speaking of which….

Kofi Kingston vs The Miz.

A rematch from last week and it was a fun one. Kingston did a flying crossbody to a near fall before delivering a suicide dive on the outside to the A-lister. Kofi was distracted by Morrison's wrestling move on Big E to which Miz took that as an advantage to lock in the skull-crushing finale and won the match.

I find it funny that the last time Morrison was on WWE TV was Miz hitting the skull-crushing finale to John on the stage area, almost 10 years and now he's out here defending the guy.

Also, using Bray Wyatt as a catalyst to complete Miz's turn to the dark side was fantastic. It wasn't a typical random heel turn that you usually see on professional wrestling television so kudos to the creative team for that rare intriguing storyline.

Speaking of Bray Wyatt, he had a firefly funhouse segment and he told the fans that he loves them. After that, Mandy Rose gave Otis a cake as an apology to what Ziggler did to Otis' cake made by his mom weeks back (I'm no pun intended, eating this love story up. Take notes RAW).

Also, Elias had his signature concert and sang a song about his role in the Royal Rumble match. Meh.

Mandy Rose vs Alexa Bliss.

Thanks to a distraction from Otis, Mandy picks up the W with a roll-up. A mediocre match.

Lacey Evans vs Sasha Banks.

WWE Photo
There was no match because according to Bayley via titantron, Sasha is in Los Angeles finishing up her rap album leading to Bayley insulting Lacey's daughter.

Evans heard enough and left the ring to look for Bayley. Bayley ambushed her and hits her with a series of rights. Meh.

Daniel Bryan was done with his interview with Kalya Braxton and in the monitor next to him, the rabbit was going to tell Bryan how to defeat The Fiend, however, Wyatt shut his mouth saying that snitches get stitches. Apparently, The Fiend is a fan of HBO's The Wire. Who knew?

Braun Strowman vs Shinsuke Nakamura.

WWE Photo

Strowman wins here with the running powerslam so that means he's getting an intercontinental championship match (no sh*t, Omar). It was aight.

The mind games continue as Bryan sees a present, opens it and sees the puppet rabbit dead. Rest in pieces.

The Usos vs King Corbin And Dolph Ziggler.

WWE Photo
Before they squared off inside the ring, they had a verbal back and forth which was meh. The match itself was okay. The Revival showed up and that gave the heel team an advantage to continue dominating this match.

Roman Reigns then delivers the superman punch and speared Corbin minutes later ending the match in a DQ.

WWE Photo

Robert Roode came back and hits Reigns with a spinebuster on the announce table but the table didn't break so instead, Corbin had a plan to break the table and it was an elbow drop from the show off on Roman through a table which was executed as planned. It's good to see The Usos back as well as Robert Roode.

With that being said, the ending was okay for what it was. It certainly didn't make me like this storyline all over sudden like an out of nowhere Vince Russo written heel turn.

So, to recap for all of you slow mofos.

Like: Kofi Kingston vs The Miz, the mind games from The Fiend.

Didn't like: Mandy Rose vs Alexa Bliss.

The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Fyter Fest 2020 Came Back Swinging?

Last week, on this very series, I said that I enjoyed Great American Bash better than Fyter Fest.  Well, this week is the exact opposite. AEW came in swinging with night 2 Fyter Fest.  I've not liked a Dynamite episode in several weeks so it's nice to see that the show finally executed a great show since God knows how long.   NXT      Highlights (at least in my opinion because wrestling is subjective).  Mia Yim vs Candice LeRae In A Street Fight. The match went underway after Yim quickly attacked Candice LeRae during LeRae's entrance.  In the crowd area, Candice tried to nail the suplex on the table but Yim got out of that position and kicked her to which she landed through the table.  The Streetfight concluded with LeRae striking Yim with the brass knuckles followed by a swinging neck from the top of the table onto a bunch of chairs and that's how LeRae defeats the HBIC.  A fun opening match even though...

WWE Smackdown Season Premiere | A Coherent Review.

It is the season premiere of Friday night Smackdown even though WWE doesn't have an offseason.  Nevertheless, it was a decent program and had a WAY better ending than whatever the hell of an ending last year's premiere of Friday night Smackdown showed.  There isn't a women's match this week and all of the AEW fanboys are looking at this like, "sEe, WWE dOeSn't feATuRe wOmeN'S mAtChEs aLsO."  pictures via WWE.com The Season Premiere Of Smackdown 2020.  The show started off with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon highlighting the scheduled matches for Smackdown as well as the superstars.  Chaos then ensued thanks to a huge brawl. Then, the "super freak" Lars Sullivan came out and delivered the freak accident to Shorty G.  Somehow, Jeff Hardy attacked him and that led to the opening match of the night between Lars and Jeff.  You know, I'm kind of surprised that two white people in McMahon and Hemsley knew who Rick James is.  Maybe I'm igno...

THE Coherent AEW Take: Christian Dior, Dior. Eddie Kingston up in all the stores!

Ever since AEW Dynamite was on Saturday night for a bit, I've been WAY behind on AEW content so excuse my ignorance. And It's Full Gear weekend which means another PPV that would last longer than the Snyder cut.  Sheeit, I'll bet the collar and elbow hold alone from the Hangman Page and Kenny Omega championship match, is longer than the entire Queen's Crown tournament.  As far as how I feel about both programs this week, well.  They did an okay job on building towards the final AEW PPV of the year this Saturday. Rampage.   Highlights.  Bryan Danielson vs Anthony Bowens.  And no, the highlight doesn't include Max Caster's verses. I'll rather listen to f**king Riff Raff than Max Caster's dig on anything.  The worst part, people are probably going to look at this and say, "can't wait for a Max Caster's appearance on Wild 'N Out!"  With that being said, this opening match was good. Danielson wins with the rebel lock.  Eddie Kingston (wi...
