The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Triple H Addresses The Johnny Gargano And Tommaso Ciampa Saga, Matt Hardy Confronts Chris Jericho.

I gotta put my resident WWE shill hat on because NXT this week won me over this week. Dynamite, however, was aight. Not bad but not as good as last week's edition.

Triple H Addresses The Johnny Gargano And Tommaso Ciampa Saga.

WWE Photo

Out came Hunter to call out Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano to the ring. After that, Triple H promised both men that they'll fight each other in a bigger stage but Gargano doesn't want to wait that long so Hunter asked him how long do Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano would like their bout to take place? Gargano replied, "two weeks".

Triple H announced that he'll find a place with a ring and a ref but he wants this feud to end otherwise both men don't have to worry about who's the heart and soul of NXT. Oh, and a camera shot of the "world ending" video packages we've seen on the titantron revealed as Killer Kross.

That ending was random but nevertheless, the segment was great and effective. It gives both guys a reason as to why they are fighting in the first place.

Matt Riddle vs Roderick Strong.

This is a good match. It had an amateur wrestling moment for minutes with those quick counters. Strong then applied the brutal-looking Boston crap being perfectly sold by the Original bro. The match was concluded with a DQ due to two hairy big men attacking Matt Riddle.

Malcolm Bivens showed up basically issuing a warning to the tag team champions. I'm glad to see him finally being utilized on NXT TV. He is a gem worth showcasing to the masses.

Some Other Things That Happened.

Tyler Breeze vs Austin Theory - A decent match. Theory got cocky by taking a selfie while hitting his finisher but Breeze reversed that into a beauty shot to win the match. Don't know if having your newer talent lose like that is the right decision but it is what it is.

Killian Dain vs Tehuti Miles - A typical NXT squash match. Nothing to see here. Dain wins with the Vader bomb.

Tony Nese vs Cameron Grimes - Two of the best athletes in NXT but definitely one of their weaker matches I've seen. Grimes takes the W with a double stomp.

Aliyah vs Xia Li. Winner Joins The Number One Contender's Ladder Match - Aliyah returns to the ring and is scheduled to face Xia Li, the same person that put her out of action with a broken nose.

Li couldn't compete due to a knee injury obviously sustained by Aliyah. Li's replacement? The returning Io Shirai and advances to the ladder with a moonsault I'll never get tired of seeing.

Keith Lee, Dominic Djakovic And Damian Priest Brawls - Quick story on this, Lee apologized to Djakovic on his accidentally attack last week, Dominic Djakovic showed up and doesn't care about Lee's apology but rather the title, Priest came out and basically said the same thing but he added "fame" and "a lot of women" in his dialogue.

They all brawl to which Dominic stood tall in the end. Decent segment. It did its job on building the eventual triple threat North American championship match.

Oney Lorcan And Danny Burch vs Shane Throne And Brendan Vink - A meh match. Lorcan And Burch won the encounter with a double team submission move which looked cool actually.

Candice LeRae vs Kayden Carter - Another non-offensive match of the night. LeRae wins the match and advances in the ladder match. There's one slot left so I'm curious on who's entering that spot.

Matt Hardy Confronts Chris Jericho.

Chris Jericho mentioned Brodie Lee's debut as well as the debut of the Broken One. Jericho then offered Matt Hardy to join the Inner Circle. Vanguard 1 emerges from above and Jericho trashes a drone for its beliefs.

But, he also wanted for Vanguard to join the Inner Circle and then, immediately flew away. Matt Hardy came out from the crowd area via teleportation like he's Nightcrawler or something.

Chris asked him how he actually nailed his powers to which Hardy replied, "I am magic". Hardy then explains that the reason why he joined the elite is that he owes "the bucks of youth" a debt for resurrecting Broken Matt Hardy.

Chris replied saying that he maybe 3000 years old and may look different but Matt is still the same person he's known for 25 years and still convinced him to join the Inner Circle.

Hardy said no aka "DELETE!" and Chris said that he has a magic of his own in Sammy Guevara attacking Hardy from behind but the two guest commentators in Cody and Kenny Omega came to the rescue with chair shots on Chris and Sammy.

It tells their history and how well they've known each other in such a way that is easy for casual fans to understand which is why I really enjoyed this segment. Also, a rare wrestling segment without two guys holding a  microphone which is nice.

Some Other Things That Happened.

Cody vs Jimmy Havoc - A solid opening match. Havoc reversed Cody's disaster kick and turned it into an armbar. But that unfortunately for Havoc, led to two Crossroads for the American nightmare to win this match.

After the match, Jake Roberts cuts a promo on the titantron hyping up Lance Archer basically. The Snake still delivers a great promo in 2020. Who knew?

Darby Allin vs Kip Sabian - Another decent match of the evening. Allin wins with a unique looking roll-up by crossing Sabian legs like a sharpshooter hold. Cody on commentary spat out a crap ton of old school wrestling reference which is impressive.

Jake Hager vs Chico Adams - After a squash match from Hager with a sleeper hold, Jon Moxley showed up and they brawled with each other. It looks like we're seeing a possible match between Moxley and Hager (no f'ing sh*t, Omar).

Brodie Lee vs QT Marshall - There was a meeting with the exalted one and his followers in a dinner. Lee won the match with a discus clothesline.

Sammy Guevara vs Kenny Omega For The AAA Omega Championship - Guevara at one point, licked at a Brandi Rhodes poster which Brandi's reaction was priceless. Omega retains with the one-winged angel.

The question is, what are some of the highlights on both episodes in your opinion? Let me know in the comments below and follow me on Twitter @omartheplayaguy. Anyways, stay safe smarks.

The 5 News Week: An Interview With Musician John Kiernan.

WE'RE BACK LADIES, GENTLEMEN AND NB! Now, what did I miss from the several week hiatus?  *Scrolls down at the news feed* a billionaire said something stupid. Monday Night RAW is still duh and uninspired. Mass release of talent by WWE.  So……. Same old sh*t? Figures.  For those unaware (pretty much everybody), The 5 News Week is where I showcase 5 major or minor news of the week that I don't have the time to do separately.  Without further ado, here are the 5 News Week.  An Interview With Musician John Kiernan.  I kick things off with an interview from a guy that I'm hoping (as a musician) appreciates Brie Bella's theme song because my music tastes suck, musician John Kiernan.  If the name sounds familiar to you, it’s probably because you’re listening to a podcast that loves shouting out the names John “loose cannon” Lopez and ‘Beast Mode” Brock Joseph at the beginning.  Kiernan has composed and straight-up killed it in the pro wrestling musi...

Will Hobbs. Professional Wrestling's Powerhouse

"What's the most powerful house you can think of? Perhaps a bungalow, something that's low, unshakable, that kinda thing? ” Hey Ew, 2022 Think of the greatest big men in the history of the business. Big Van Vader who represents pure unadulterated aggression that seamlessly benefits his ferocious in-ring style ( see his match with Mitsuharu Misawa for more information).  Bam Bam Bigelow who's unpredictability inside the ring like his flying headbutts and moonsaults has made him spectacular to watch.  The Undertaker who have built a sense of aura by masterfully marching down the ring, creating anticipation in the process as well as constructing an expression of a man who hates video games and wants “men to be like men” .  And then there's Powerhouse Will Hobbs. A man who I believe in years to come is the heir apparent to the throne of “greatest big men in wrestling” and for good reason. Mr “I Break Backs Like Bane” possesses a power that belies his exuberance.  Why ...

WWE Backlash 2020 | A Coherent Review.

Overall, a decent PPV that was highlighted by a few good matches and one greatest match (yea, yea, the pun is worn out already but I just had to).  As a tradition on this site, I've not seen the pre-show match, however, I've heard it was solid.  Bayley And Sasha Banks vs Alexa Bliss And Nikki Cross vs The IIconics For The Women's Tag Team Championship.  A decent opening match of the evening. Peyton Royce did a unique crossbody onto every participant in the match.  Moments later, Royce and Billie Kay did their double team move on Sasha Banks but you know who also did a double team move?  Nikki Cross and Alexa Bliss with a double team DDT on Peyton Royce.  As soon as Bliss hits the Twisted Bliss on Peyton Royce, Sasha Banks quickly rolled Alexa up for the victory and retained dos straps.  The tag team championship reign of the golden role models continues (No sh*t, Omar). Also, I wanna briefly speak on the Alexa Bliss situation....
