Why I Haven't Reviewed Smackdown In 2 Weeks.

I know you don't care about a dude (moi) writing about why he hasn't reviewed Smackdown in 2 weeks on an unknown site called "Playard Wrestling Post" but hear me out.

Ever since the brand split was brought back, the blue brand's quality of television was like a roller-coaster ride, full of ups and downs. That overused metaphor can especially be applied as to how the powers that be, constructed each Smackdown episode in 2019.

Smackdown on FOX is a great example of the shows' downward in quality storytelling. Other than maybe Bray Wyatt, every episode of Smackdown on FOX was underwhelming and in some cases, flat out horrendous.

Elias is apparently a babyface even though the things he's saying sounds like something a heel would say, King Corbin makes fun of Roman Reigns' big dog persona in the lamest of ways, the women's division is as weak as the news you read on Wrestling Twitter and many more.

I want to like Smackdown, I really do but if that's Smackdown answer to good storytelling then I'm unfortunately going to pan this show every week.

It is sad that I'm doing this every Saturday afternoon (my time) but I'm sure there's someone out there that enjoys what WWE is putting out on FOX and you know what? That's awesome and I celebrate that.

And yes, this is probably the shortest essay I’ve written on this site but I wanna get something out of my chest. Anyways, do you guys think that Smackdown on FOX is good, bad or somewhat in between?

Sound off in the comments below on what do you think about it? Follow ya boy on the Twitta @omartheplayaguy and follow the blog for honest pro wrestling opinions. Anyways, stay safe smarks.

WWE Wrestlemania 26 | A Coherent Review.

I've teased a mystery review on my Facebook page (which you can click here to follow us) and that mystery has now been unveiled. It's Wrestlemania 26. This review was delayed and was supposed to be up last Monday but at least is now up. Also, The first draft of this review was 7 pages long so strap in. By far, the longest review on this very website.  I thought it would be fitting to review a Wrestlemania from a decade back and how do I feel about it? It was a show that if you watched it, you're most likely going to have a good time. It was a mix of great things but terrible things at the same time as most shows.  The 26th edition of Wrestlemania took place in the University of Phoenix Stadium in the Phoenix suburb of Glendale, Arizona on March 28th, 2010.  The commentators were Micheal Cole, Jerry Lawler and Matt Striker. Honestly, Striker was pretty good and a far better colour commentator than Lawler was on this show (even today, Lawler is still bleh on commen...

WrestleFest DXB's Fahrenheit 971 | A Coherent W.

Being a fan of pro wrestling (or any other medium of entertainment) does have its pros and cons when engaging with the industry as a whole.  On one hand, you've witnessed an Eddie Kingston promo that'll make you tear up more than the opening scene of Up.  On the other hand, going to the wrestling subreddit will definitely have you questioning humanity as a whole and the fact that living in an area where a wrestling presence pretty much doesn't exist like a Vince Russo-written storyline that is, you know, GOOD!?  Luckily, the latter retracted my con as a fan because I'm talking about Wrestlefest DXB and their latest joint, "971 Fahrenheit".  Martin Bushby of now Post Wrestling Alumni brought the event to my attention because like a wrestler on an episode of RAW I get distracted all the time.  So, I decided to take a short journey to a taxi then a bus then a train then a 30-minute walk to the show itself and I know I'm going to sound biased as f**k but I l...

The 5 News Week: WWE Backstage. Cancelled Or Nah?, Liv Morgan's Re-Debut Was Supposed To Be Different!?

I'm back on my BS because it's The 5 News Week where I report on the 5 major or minor news of the week hence the name "T he 5 News Week".  Sorry for the week of absence. I took a week off of social media (except YouTube) due to the sadness I felt when reading those brave women and men tell their stories about the awful, terrible experiences they've had after their interactions with notable people in the industry.  It made me question my fandom and whether I should be in the industry (wrestling media-wise) knowing that they are asshats that will take an advantage on people for no reason other than more power and control.  This week proves that the business needs to wash all the old tropes that make it harder for people to express what's really going on especially when it pertains  to serious issues like sexual assault, racism, sexism etc.  I'm hoping that those stories will lead to a sudden change in every aspect of this profession and other ...
