WWE Smackdown 17/7/20 | A Coherent Review.

This recent instalment of Smackdown was decent.

The women, for the most part, was the standout in this program and it honestly carried the show from a meh to a decent watch.

The show started off with Jeff Hardy and Sheamus talking about the upcoming bar fight which you can scroll down to read my thoughts on it.

Sasha Banks and Bayley Gives Us A New Perspective Of The Word "Greatness".

The so-called "golden role models" were praising their greatness to which Nikki Cross was furious about the way she lost at Extreme Rules.

So, Nikki wanted a rematch for the SmackDown women's championship and Bayley accepted that bout if Nikki faces her best friend, Alexa Bliss to determine the number one contender.

That match started immediately after this segment and it was a good opener.
Bayley and Sasha Banks were entertaining in the commentary as per usual.

When Corey Graves brought the fact that Bayley didn't want to hit Bliss with a kendo stick a few years ago and I'm not gonna lie, that was funny.

The match concluded with a W from Nikki Cross via an inside cradle. This is the most interested I've ever been in Nikki Cross since God knows how long.

Coming from a guy that wasn't looking forward to this encounter initially during the build for Extreme Rules, I'm glad I was proven wrong in that regard.

In the latest edition of the firefly funhouse, Bray Wyatt tells the world that it is now The Fiend's turn to take out Braun Strowman.

I'm hoping the build for the rubber match is actually you know, GOOD.

Matt Riddle vs Tony Nese.

Yes, THE Tony Nese is in action in a separate brand which explains how the company isn't consistent when it comes to their brand extension but that's another conversation for another time.

Riddle defeats Nese with the bro Derek. Matt then calls out King Corbin, bruh and he got what he wanted.

The king told Riddle that he doesn't belong in Smackdown but rather NXT or maybe 205 because he could be a top star (he's 216 Ibs, Corbin). After that, Matt attacked Tony Nese. Well, that was boring and uninteresting.

Miz TV. Special Guest, Naomi.

WWE Photo

The Miz and John Morrison asked Naomi about the hashtag "#NaomiDeservesBetter" and she appreciates the fans for rocking with her while also mentioning that she has been the most consistent performer since day one.

The hosts then brought up Lacey Evans and she was insulting her while applying her lipstick. Naomi gave Evans a right (no pun intended) and that's how the segment ended.

I liked Naomi's promo and the rest was just fine. Also, Naomi better win the match against Lacey Evans next week.

Kofi Kingston told Big E that he's out for 6 weeks and E should focus on his singles career which I'm definitely excited for that run to happen.

Maybe a feud between Styles and Big E for the IC title? Hmmm?

Shorty G vs Lince Dorado vs Gran Metalik vs Drew Gulak. Winner Faces AJ Styles For The Intercontinental Championship.

Speaking of the phenomenal one. This was a decent fatal four-way action.

Gran Metalik picked up the W and became the number one contender for the title in the process with a beautiful springboard elbow drop.

WWE Photo

Styles slapped the number one contender but he was taken out of the ring with a DDT. Should be a good one.

In an interview with *Billie Kay's voice* KALYA, the SmackDown tag team champions says this ain't Big E's time but rather their time. God damn, the tag team division is em. Ty.

Jeff Hardy vs Sheamus In A Bar Fight.

WWE Photo

I mean, it's a bar fight. Nothing too unique in this cinematic beating between the Celtic Warrior and the Charismatic Enigma. It was fine for what it was.

Jeff Hardy won the bar fight with a Swanton Bomb from the top of the beer barrels.

Sheamus' motivation as to why he was antagonizing Jeff for months was lacking and he didn't gain ANYTHING from this story at all.

I get that it was a way to make the audience cheer for the good guy in Jeff Hardy but it was executed in the lamest of ways.

I hope this is the conclusion to that dreadful storyline.

So, to recap for all of you slow mofos.

Like: Nikki Cross vs Alexa Bliss, a tease to a possible singles run for Big E, Naomi's promo in the Miz TV segment.

Didn't like: King Corbin and Matt Riddle segment.

WWE Extreme Rules 2019 | My Coherent Review.

Man, I'm impressed with WWE in terms of PPVs as of late because overall, this was a fantastic show in my opinion with great matches but the crowd was dead for most of the show so that sucks.  I finally watched the pre-show match between Finn Balor and Shinsuke Nakamura before I went to bed because the show aired at 2 am where I live and it was okay.  By the way, how interesting is it when on last year’s Extreme Rules show, Shinsuke Nakamura won the United States championship and now this year’s show, he won the intercontinental title. Also, it's funny that the intercontinental championship was the main event on last's year show and on this year's Extreme Rules PPV, it's on the preshow.  Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre vs Roman Reigns and The Undertaker.  Mike Rome did better in announcing "The Best In the world" this time than on RAW. Mike Rome's announcement a few weeks ago sounded like that one friend that thinks he/she knows how to ...

NXT Takeover: In Your House 2020 | A Coherent Review.

NXT Takeover: In Your House is like the rest of the Takeover shows, a fantastic 2 hours of professional wrestling.  What makes this show special is the additional nostalgia like how the show started with the NXT WWF inspired intro, the ice cream commercial narrated by William Regal doing his best Lord Alferd Hayes impression, icopro commercial and last but not least, Todd Pettengill.  This is a show that I'm definitely rewatching in years to come.  Mia Yim, Tegan Nox And Shotzi Blackheart vs Raquel Gonzalez, Candice LeRae And Dakota Kai.  A decent opening match. During the match, Nox did a Molly Holly top rope on to every competitor in the match.  Yim tried to give LeRae some Seoul Food but LeRae reversed that into a suplex. Several minutes later, Shotzi did a Salida Del Sol of some sort on Gonzalez to which Nox delivered the shiniest wizard on Kai and won the match.  Finn Balor vs Damian Priest. I actually thought that the closing mo...

The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Holy Sh*t, The Revival Are All Elite, Matt Riddle vs Timothy Thatcher In A Unique Steel Cage Match.

Both shows had its weak points but overall, that was an enjoyable 4 hours of professional wrestling television. I personally liked AEW Dynamite this week.  From an awesome women's match with Shida and Christi Jaynes to The Revival showing up, AEW managed to give me a solid episode and successfully furthered their storylines to next week's exciting show.  NXT   Highlights (at least in my opinion because wrestling is subjective).  Kushida vs Drake Maverick vs Jake Atlas. Triple Threat Match Interim Cruiserweight Championship Tournament.  What a way to kick off this episode of NXT, am I right? Atlas delivered the rainbow DDT but Kushida broke Jake's pin.  Speaking of Kushida, he nailed the armbar submission, however, Drake pinned Atlas because Atlas' shoulders were on the mat and will meet El Hijo Del Fantasma for the finals next week.  I don't know if Drake is rehired or he's going to be rehired but Maverick has a big ta...
