WWE Money In The Bank 2021 | A Coherent Review

Last year's Money In The Bank show was one of my all-time favourites. You wanna know why?

It's because it ended in 2 hours and 10 minutes. As a guy with an intensive full-time job, that alone has to be the reason why 2020 MITB is a great show.

How did this year's show hold up? Well, it was quite simply, an enjoyable 3-hour program.

I had my so-called "money's worth" after watching this PPV.

Oh, and the Smackdown tag team championship match was aye okay.

Women's Money In The Bank Ladder Match.

You would think that Alexa Bliss would've won this match considering that she has voodoo powers, right?

But, I can't pull the "white dude that complains about logic in a subject piece of entertainment" because this match was probably one of the best multi-person ladder matches I've seen in quite some time.

Nikki A.S.H overcame the odds like a good superhero story would tell by winning the briefcase.

Given that she's been winning match after match as of late, I do not mind this win but will see what the future holds.

AJ Styles And Omos vs The Viking Raiders For The RAW Tag Team Championship.

They gave those dudes some TIME and it paid off. The encounter was a fun one. The match did a great job of highlighting the strengths of Omos while hiding the weakness of the big man.

The duo of AJ Styles and Omos retained thanks to a double chokeslam from Omos to Erik shades of this past week's Monday Night RAW episode.

Bobby Lashley vs Kofi Kingston For The WWE Championship.

The storytelling going into this match didn't justify what we got here which was a glorified squash match.

However, I could see this match being a catalyst for a potential feud with Big E as he just witnessed his best friend getting destroyed with ease.

That is if Big E grabs the briefcase (spoilers, he does).

Bobby Lashley walked out of Fort Worth still the WWE champion with the Full Nelson submission.

Rhea Ripley vs Charlotte Flair For The RAW Women's Championship.

This wasn't as good as their previous matches but it was decent for what it was.

That top rope natural selection from Charlotte Flair to quote that overused chant, "is awesome".

The stomp on the steel steps from Charlotte Flair and a figure 8 is how Rhea Ripley's disappointing championship reign came to a close.

In other words, Charlotte Flair is now what feels like the gazillionth time women's championship (you know Google exists, right Omar?).

This win is leading to a Becky Lynch return and feud, right?

Honestly, I would prefer a fresh matchup between a Rhea and a (potentially) returning Becky Lynch.

As of this moment, I'm right in the middle when it comes to how I feel about the finish. I'm not on board with it but at the same time, I don't completely hate it either.

Men's Money In The Bank Ladder Match.

Fans singing Shinsuke Nakamura's theme song just feels right.

You know what doesn't feel right? A 3 hour Monday Night RAW or a bad Ryan Coogler movie.

Like the women's Money In The Bank ladder match, this one was f**king fantastic.

John Morrison and Seth shouting at each other about who's got the drip, had me DYING!

Big E grabbed the contract and that's how the New Day member wins the whole thing.

I could not be happier. To quote the popular content creator, Flight, "nice. Nice. It made me happy. It made me smile."

Roman Reigns vs Edge For The Universal Championship.

This ain't a show with a live audience without some CM Punk chants.

Guys, it's been several years. Let it go. The JBL and Cole show ain't coming back (yes, I'm repeating the same joke because I'M FUNNEEE!).

The match was a little too slow-paced for my liking but it was nevertheless, a fine encounter.

Seth Rollins took his frustrations on to Edge as he attacked the Rated R superstar with a kick on the back of Edge's neck while the referee was down.

That wasn't how the tribal chief retained the championship though.

It took a *ugh* distraction from Rollins for Roman to hit the spear to walk out of the arena still as the champion.

Rollins further gave the hall of famer a beating which led to a brawl between those two men.

But then. Out came the 16-time world champion, the closest thing to Superman that isn't Henry Cavill, the only middle-aged man that wears jean shorts like it's the 2000s and the internet meme sensation himself, John Felix Anthony Cena.

And that crowd went f**king insane. Probably one of the loudest reactions I've ever heard in my 14-year wrestling fandom.

Sh*t. Tell that to an ECW fan that was in the 2006 one thing stand PPV and they wouldn't believe you.

I can't wait for this encounter, to be quite honest. It actually made me look forward to witnessing this week's episode. I'll give it a Roger Ebert thumbs up for that ending.

So, to recap for all of you slow mofos.

Like: Women's And The Men'sMoney In The Bank Ladder Match, Big E's Victory, The RAW Tag Team Championship Match, My time is up, my time is now.

Didn't like: Bobby Lashley vs Kofi Kingston (too damn disappointing).

WWE Smackdown 21/1/22 | A Coherent Review.

Another week, another time Pat McAfee shows me why he's better than Corey Graves. Both in the ring AND on the commentary table.  As far as how I feel about this week's episode, it ain't good, people. It ain't good.  An Image via WWE.com   Sethy Mane Wanted A Tag Partner So….………. That he faces The Usos later in the show and if drippy Jesus wins, 2 out of 3 members of the Bloodline are barred off ringside in the blue title encounter (in case you were wondering, Kevin Owens was Seth's tag partner).  BUTTTTTTTTTTTT! The tribal chief had other ideas. He proposed a pitch where if the "burn it down" man loses the tag match, the Rumble match is gone, FINITO!  Bully Ray probably saw Seth Rollins' uttering Jox Moxley's name and reacted, "HOW DARE YOU!! BLASPHEMY!"  Fortunately for SR The Drip Mane, he got what he wanted via a DQ finish thanks to a superman punch from Roman Reigns. While the ending did protect the tag champs, the consequences of i...

A Few Thoughts On RAW And Smackdown: RAW wasn't GREAT!?

Since this blog will be less of a priority now considering I'm focusing on my podcast now (hit the 5 stars on Apple Podcast you sons of b*tches), I decided to share my few thoughts on RAW, Smackdown, I guess?  Smackdown.  The blue brand delivered yet another good episode this week and it's probably due to the fact that Braun Strowman taking out the Maximum Model is high-key funny as f**k.  The folks over at Titan Towers are bringing back the essence of their characters whether it's Kevin Owens, Shayna Baszler or in this case, Big Braun himself.   As a fan, you gotta love it, especially since in the case of Strowman, the dude hasn't been the same since he turned heel 4 years ago when feuding with Roman Reigns for the universal title.   Other noteworthy segments include Logan Paul challenging Roman Reigns for the big world universal multiverse galactic cinematic championship.  Imagine they pulled that match off 7 years ago back when Logan was on V...

WWE Smackdown 17/7/20 | A Coherent Review.

This recent instalment of Smackdown was decent.  The women, for the most part, was the standout in this program and it honestly carried the show from a meh to a decent watch.  The show started off with Jeff Hardy and Sheamus talking about the upcoming bar fight which you can scroll down to read my thoughts on it.  Sasha Banks and Bayley Gives Us A New Perspective Of The Word "Greatness".  The so-called "golden role models" were praising their greatness to which Nikki Cross was furious about the way she lost at Extreme Rules.  So, Nikki wanted a rematch for the SmackDown women's championship and Bayley accepted that bout if Nikki faces her best friend, Alexa Bliss to determine the number one contender.  That match started immediately after this segment and it was a good opener.  Bayley and Sasha Banks were entertaining in the commentary as per usual.  When Corey Graves brought the fact that Bayley didn't want t...
