The 5 News Week: The Current Plan For Eva Marie According To Reports.

Hello, my fellow wrestling fans and welcome to the 5 news week. The post where I report 5 major or minor pro wrestling news, rumours and spoilers of the week that I don't have time to do it separately.  Without further ado, here are the 5 news week.  What’s Going On With The ShowBuzz Daily Website!? Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer has expressed concern regarding Showbuzz Daily not posting the daily TV rating due to technical issues stating (from Cagesideseats ) "all wrestling companies, TV companies, sports stations, etc. looked to that site for numbers.” The owner of the Showbuzz Daily entity, Mitch Metcalf, took to the blue hell that is Twitter and said that they can't add content to the site anymore over a shutdown that isn't clear as to what caused the shutdown itself.  Metcalf went on to highlight that due to operating the site without generating revenue, the cost and time to bring back the site has made him think about the future of ShowBuzz Daily.  Is...

WWE Smackdown 28/5/21 | A Coherent Review.

I've not been on the Smackdown review grind as of late mainly due to this thing called "life".  What's notable and somewhat annoying about my review inconsistencies is that It's always the good wrestling shows that I do not review. In other words, f**k you Monday Night RAW you absolute visual Nyquil.  Anyways, how was Smackdown today? Besides a few good wrestling matches, it was a nothing show. The episode was the definition of the word, "filler".  Images via WWE.com The Riott Squad vs Natalya And Tamina.  I've been really liking Natalya and Tamina's run so far? It's something I wouldn't say even as recently as last month.  This match kinda justifies my enjoyment for the current women's tag team champions. When Ruby Riott wrestles (or allowed to), trust me, she f**king wrestles.  Seth Rollins Sh*ts On Cesaro Yet Again.  Don't worry. Seth hasn't abused the word "drip" but to be fair, his fashion taste is decent. Is it...

WWE NXT 25/5/21 | A Bit Late Coherent Review.

NXT has once again, produced an engaging, well written, scripted and produced show. Why? Well *slaps his head multiple times* Here's why.  Images via WWE.com   Ember Moon And Shotzi Blackheart vs Raquel Gonzalez And Dakota Kai. The match ended with a win from the good guys to which they immediately got a BEATING from the NXT women's champion.  It is still so weird that Raquel made a u-turn to the good side and her babyface run didn't even last a week.  I will say, the opening contest was pretty good.  In a produced scene, Hit Row wants all of the championship gold. I'm hoping they fulfil the promise real quick because Hit Row is already one of my favourite groups in wrestling.  Speaking of promos, Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher simply stated that they wanted to beat the holy hell out of the Grizzled Young Veterans.  Zack Gibson and British Seth Green, James Blake, wanted to move on from Ciampa and Thatcher but they do not want to move on fr...

The 5 News Week: Money In The Bank 2021 Happening In A Live Audience.

Hello, my fellow wrestling fans and welcome to the 5 news week. The post where I report 5 major or minor pro wrestling news, rumours and spoilers of the week that I don't have time to do it separately.  Without further ado, here are the 5 news week.  WWE Refreshing Their Set Designs.  WWE has officially announced that starting on July 16th, world wrestling entertainment is back on the road as first reported by the Mad Men Wrestling Podcast (see, was it difficult, WWE?).  Speaking of Andrew Zarian of Mad Men Wrestling Podcast , Zarian has teased that WWE might refresh their set design for their flash programming:  "Right now, they're working on the sets. I don't know if it's Smackdown or RAW okay. All I know is that they're working on new sets."  RAW would've benefited a lot with a set redesign or a refresh compared to SmackDown because the SmackDown set was straight-up beautiful. Will see what WWE is cooking up come July.  Money In The Bank 2021 Happen...

AEW Dynamite 19/5/21 | A Coherent Review.

AEW Dynamite was, as per usual, GOOD! GOOD! GOOD! Christian Cage vs Matt Sydal.  I'll never get tired of humming Christian Cage's theme song. Yes, it's basically an instrumental of Evanescence's My Last Breath but it is still one of my favourite theme songs of all time.  It's a rarity that a wrestler I appreciate, has two different theme songs from different companies that I love equally.  Anywho, that opening match ruled which isn't surprising given that they have a bit of history together.   After Christian defeated Matt Sydal with the kill switch, Ricky Starks brought the rest of Taz's crew to the ring and they attacked both competitors in the opening match.  Hangman Page came to the rescue however, he was taken down with a chop block from Taz's son, Hook.  All I can say is, Ricky Starks won my fandom ever since his Darby Allin impressions.  The Varsity Blondes cut a solid promo regarding the Young Bucks and how they're not the same Young Bucks...

WWE NXT 17/5/21 | A Coherent Review.

The show as a whole was as per usual with NXT, pretty good and here’s why.  Images via wwe.com A video promoting Karrion Kross and Finn Balor's second encounter for the championship was how the show opened.  Ever since NXT moved to the USA network, the quality of their video promotions has definitely increased.  The widescreen aspect ratio especially, makes their vignettes look a WHOLE lot better. Toni Storm vs Zoey Stark.  Zoey Stark has been in the upper card position when it comes to the women's division since her first appearance on the yellow brand.  So, it's really odd that she lost in her first major feud. Bit, I will say, the match was pretty good for the most part. Toni defeated Zoey Stark with a unique modified DDT that looked so damn impressive but in my opinion, NOTHING in her arsenal beats the storm zero finish.  The NXT women's tag team champions were enjoying themselves in a spa (still can't forgive The Way for brainwashing Indi Hartwell into...

WWE RAW 17/4/21 | A Coherent Review.

Was Monday Night RAW a desaturated, unengaging and lengthy show to get through? Yes. Is it basically mental torture? Yes, yes and yes.  Images via WWE.com Bobby Lashley Celebrates His Victory Last Night With The "Glitz And Glamour".  MVP was ABSOLUTELY glowing about Bobby Lashley's victory last night at Backlashimania (which you can read about the review for the show here ).  Lashley then issued an open challenge for the almighty. And it was answered by Drew McIntyre.  Obviously, MVP and Bobby Lashley was like nah which led to Lashley escaping from the beating that Drew McIntyre was about to give the champ.  Drew McIntyre will rather die than not be WWE champion because Drew has had opportunity after opportunity after opportunity.  I do not mind rematches as long as each match is better than the last and in this case, I don't hate it.  I do understand why people are bothered by this given it's the same match over and over again.  AJ Styles vs Elia...

WWE Wrestlemania: Backlash 2021 | A Coherent Review.

Wrestlemania: Backlash or as I like to call it, Backlashimania, gets an enthusiastic thumbs up for me. I enjoyed the hell out of this PPV overall.  Images via WWE.com The opening intro was narrated by the greatest of all time, Batista and it was straight badass despite the fact it was pretty much a promotion for Zack Snyder's new film, Army Of The Dead.  If you've read my about page, then you'll know that I ain't talking about Zack Snyder movies because his fans are…… never mind.  Rhea Ripley vs Charlotte Flair vs Asuka For The RAW Women's Championship.  Charlotte with the Cruella De Vil inspired ring gear was to quote Dolph Ziggler's old theme song, "perfection". The opening bout was fast-paced, high octane action that didn't have a slow/dull moment.  All of these women utilized quick grapples and strikes to their advantage.  Charlotte was this close to capturing the title but she was pushed to the outside, nailed the riptide to Asuka and that...
