WWE NXT 15/6/21 | A Coherent Review.

This is probably one of the best wrestling TV episodes of the year. I had fun watching NXT this week from start to finish and here's why.  Images via WWE.com William Regal Encountered A Familiar Individual.  Karrion Kross with his antagonising promo towards Regal, proves to all of the people that said, "iS kRoss a hEEl oR A bAbYfAce!?" That the dude is indeed portraying himself as a piece of shite.  Out came the returning Samoa Joe and he was offered by Willaim Regal to be an enforcer. Regal was about to quit but Joe's presence got him to change his mind.  It is so oddly nostalgic to hear Samoa Joe utter William Regal's name like that. While it had a predictable outcome (those God damn dirt sheets ruining everything including my entertainment for some reason), the segment did just do one thing.  It simply put a smile on my face. I think it would be extra cool if they replaced Regal with Samoa Joe as GM but I ain't complaining. Breezango vs Imperium.  Nice t...

WWE RAW 14/6/21 | A Coherent Review.

I, as usual, had an expectation for this program that was lower than Pluto Nash's box office records.  However, coming out of watching the go-home show for Hell In A Cell, I was extremely surprised by how inoffensive this episode was for the most part.  Images via WWE.com The show opened with the usual hoekie shite from Alexa Bliss. Nia Jax showed up at her playground and Jax challenged her to a match.  And, the match happened later in the night and it ended with the worst-selling of a DDT I've ever seen by Jax followed by the twisted Bliss but Reginald interfered in Alexa's pin and that's how Bliss won the match (That entire match got me shouting, "BOOOOOOOOOOO!").  I'm all for professional wrestling embracing the scripted nature of the industry because the creative liberties that the business has as a result of embracing the scripted nature of the industry are high.  This is why part of me respects what WWE is trying to do with Alexa Bliss.  The cinemati...

NXT Takeover: In Your House 2021 | A Coherent Review.

If I actually agreed with what Triple H said on the pre-show media call regarding fans, this review wouldn't happen but apparently if you like a piece of entertainment, don't complain a single thing about it.  Something that a weird Zack Snyder fan will probably tell me in all caps for no reason.  With that out of the way, how was Takeover? It was a lower-tier Takeover show but I had a good time for the most part.   Part of NXT's success is the instant response that  you can definitely hear  from the fans coming out of a moment or an entire match. And, with the return of a full live crowd atmosphere, that statement was proven to be the exact opposite because that crowd was a dud.  There were more noises during the empty area phase of WWE programming than this show. It really sucks that it had to be this way.  Images via WWE.com Bronson Reed And Msk vs Legado De La Fantasma. A Winner Takes All Match.  We went from a musical performance and a T...

The 5 News Week: Brief Thoughts On AEW Double Or Nothing 2021.

Hello, my fellow wrestling fans and welcome to the 5 news week. The post where I report 5 major or minor pro wrestling news, rumours and spoilers of the week that I don't have time to do it separately.  Without further ado, here are the 5 news week.  A Brief Thoughts On Double Or Nothing 2021.  I was supposed to create a separate review for Double Or Nothing but life came into the way. Hence, why I'm briefly writing about it. Here are my key takeaways from what was a pretty entertaining PPV:  AEW should really think about the length of the show because honestly, there's no reason why a wrestling show should be 4 and a half hours bruh. I felt every single second of the 4-hour runtime.  I prefer the Stadium Stampede match over the Blood And Guts. It had the right amount of batsh*t shenanigans along with the surprising additional humour (that Konnan cameo was gold).  The women, in my opinion, STOLE THE DAMN SHOW! The opening match for the NWA women's champions...

WWE Smackdown 4/6/21 | A Coherent Review.

Smackdown this week was kinda there? I mean, I didn't hate it but I can't say that I enjoyed it as well. In other words, the episode was just average.  Images via WWE.com Roman Reigns Wants His Cousins To Bring Home The Tag Team Gold.  Once again, this episode started off with none other than Roman Reigns talking and who isn't all for that, am I right?  The basic gist of the promo is like the title suggests, is about Reigns wanting to make sure that The Usos leaves the Thunderdome as the 7-time tag team champions.  Out of all the "Roman Reigns opening dialogue" segments I've seen, this was in the lower tier side of things.  It wasn't terrible but it didn't have the "punchline" that makes those segment all that more impactful in my eyes.  The Usos vs Rey And Dominik Mysterio For The SmackDown Tag Team Championship.  During the encounter, The Usos delivered a sick looking pop-up Samoan drop to Dominik Mysterio.  Jimmy was aiming for the splash ...

WWE NXT 1/6/21 | A Coherent Review.

Hey, look. NXT just delivered yet another enjoyable wrestling show.  Images via WWE.com Kyle O'Reilly vs Pete Dunne vs Johnny Gargano. Number One Contender's Match For The NXT Championship.  NXT started off the program with a high profiled, action-packed encounter that I heavily enjoyed.  Adam Cole with the "doomer mentality" took out everyone in the match which led to William Regal along with a bunch of security guards, stopping Cole from additional attack.  Later in the night, Adam Cole got a word with the NXT champion Karrion Kross and he basically said, "I'm just……..better than you, bro".  Kross responded saying that he wants to face EVERYONE in that number one contender’s match.  Cole's unapologetic confidence was the highlight of the episode.  Yes, he hasn't won a lot of matches to get to the champion scene in the first place but the way NXT told that story somehow made sense.  Ember Moon Calls Out Raquel Gonzalez Then……. Ember managed to n...

WWE RAW 31/5/21 | A Coherent Review.

I was recently reading my RAW reviews from 2019 and the thing that is common in all of those reviews was that while I had some issues with those episodes, the shows were decent as a whole.  2021, however, is, of course, a different story. Ever since the fall of last year, I've been consistently getting terrible episode after terrible episode that is giving SNL a run for its money.  At this point, criticizing Monday Night RAW is a God damn routine.  Images via WWE.com   The Miz TV. Special Guest, Charlotte Flair.  As told by the headline above, the show opened with Miz TV. A segment that literally nobody looks forward to.   You had John Morrison legit wearing a necklace that is covered in garlic for protecting himself from any supernatural thing appearing which was PEAK CRINGE.  Charlotte Flair stated that she'll send Rhea Ripley to hell in 3 weeks (by the way, this is still a weird decision to move the Hell In A Cell show in the summer but whateve...
