WWE NXT 27/4/21 | A Coherent Review.

I didn't review RAW yesterday because it was so bad and yawn-inducing that I actually fell asleep after watching the episode.  Thankfully, NXT was a different story because it was, for the most part, a decent program.  The thing that I didn't like about the show was how similar and badly predictable the booking was in some of the matches like distraction finishes and common tropes in order to build a championship match feud.   Images via WWE.com Dakota Kai vs Mercedes Martinez.  Ah yes. The "If you want a spot in the championship match, you have to face the champion's friend/partner" cliche but I can't complain due to the fact that the encounter was decent.  Like pretty much all of WWE matches, this one ended via a DQ because of Raquel Gonzalez's consistent attack on Martinez.  Just when a babyface is teased to have a grey area, WWE decided to turn Raquel fully to the dark side.  That ending rendered Gonzalez's babyface turn a few weeks ago utterl...

The 5 News Week: The State Of Monday Night RAW.

Hello, my fellow wrestling fans and welcome to the 5 news week. The post where I report 5 major or minor pro wrestling news, rumours and spoilers of the week that I don't have time to do it separately.   Without further ado, here are the 5 news week.   Images via WWE.com The State Of Monday Night RAW.  To all of the viewers who were curious as to why I haven't reviewed Monday Night RAW this past week (by viewers, I mean the only two viewers I get each post) it is because the show is really f**king insufferable to get through.  It is so bad in fact that I dedicated this section of the news week talking about the state of Monday Night Raw and why the 3-hour program just simply doesn't work (by the way, some of these tropes have been used on WWE TV in general but unlike the red brand, Smackdown and NXT are actually enjoyable to watch as a whole).  #1. Dumb babyface cliche. (this clip of Damian Priest facing off The Miz and John Morrison should explain the...

WWE NXT 20/4/21 | A Coherent Review.

Hey look, another great episode of NXT. Ever since NXT moved to a different night, the show feels to quote Outkast, "so fresh, so clean". The quality of the yellow brand's programming has definitely risen.  However, that is not to say that NXT wasn't good before the move to Tuesdays.  Images via WWE.com Kyle O'Reilly Returns After His Encounter With Adam Cole. Kyle O'Reilly or as autocorrect would call him, "Kylie O'Feilly", spoke about, of course, his brutal bout with his former best friend Adam Cole and how he's going to move on.  O'Reilly then referenced the fact that Karrion Kross has what's his and that is the NXT championship.  Out came Cameron Grimes and offered him to make some mula together. O'Reilly said yes only for the guy to strike Grimes right on the money maker.  Kyle legit dressed like a teenage boy that hates going on vacations with his family.  O'Reilly's comedic timing with Cameron Grimes is what made th...

WWE Smackdown After WrestleMania 37 | A Coherent Review.

It is not surprising that Smackdown is better than Monday Night Bore. And this episode proved it. Yes, it was a night of rematches but at least I wasn't yawning throughout most of the episode.  Side note, Pat McAfee on commentary? Let's go. I love this choice, guys. The way he talks sh*t about somebody will always bring a smile to my face.  Already, Smackdown after mania is way better than RAW after mania.  Images via WWE.com Roman Reigns Reflects On His Victory At Wrestlemania.  After WWE tried to recreate the boos that Roman Reigns got 4 years back, Reigns said that he fulfilled his promise by Defeating Edge and Daniel Bryan at Wrestlemania.  As the tribal chief was going to leave the ring, out came the Swiss cyborg himself, zazarow and Reigns immediately walked out of the ring.  I assumed Cesaro is going to face the Intercontinental champion, APOLLOOOOOOO! But, he's stepping up against the tribal chief and I'm all for it, honestly.  Cesaro wants a m...

AEW Dynamite 14/4/21 | A Coherent Review.

It is so refreshing that I get to review one show in a day instead of two shows in a day.  The latest edition of AEW Dynamite was pretty good. As usual, the in-ring work is top-notch.  Before AEW aired its opening intro, The Jackson brothers reminded everyone that a new and improved Young Bucks are coming due to the fact that they're tired of letting people walk all over them.  A good promo actually. Didn't know Young Bucks are such good bad guys based on that dialogue alone.  Also, something that happened backstage, MJF offered Mike Tyson a check because MJF believes to keep his friends close but his enemies closer (MJF has ACTUAL FRIENDS!? Who knew?).  But, Tyson tore that check to pieces.  The Young Bucks vs Death Triangle In Pac And Rey Fenix For The AEW World Tag Team Championship.  You got folks on Twitter over analysing whether The Young Bucks' Nike shoes are fake or not (aka funny a** content).  During the match, Pac and Fenix delivered a ...

WWE NXT 13/4/21 | A Coherent Review.

A new night which means new graphics and a new theme song courtesy of NXT's favourite singer, Poppy.  NXT got a fresh new look and I like it. As far as how I feel about the episode itself, it was a fun two hours of professional wrestling television.  Images via WWE.com   Karrion Kross Wants New Challengers.  Kross praised Finn Balor as a competitor but unfortunately for Balor, he lost to the man that is hungry for challengers.  And that was the promo. It was fine. I do think the next challenger for the championship is Kyle O'Reilly but who knows at this point?  The yellow brand aired a highlight video of Takeover: Stand And Deliver (which you can check out the review for both nights here and here).  Msk vs Killian Dain And Drake Maverick For The NXT Tag Team Championship.  Msk were booed during this match which is odd. You could argue that it's because they're facing an adorable team of Drake Maverick and Killian Dain.  Either way, it's reall...

WWE RAW After WrestleMania 37 | A Coherent Review.

Was this a RAW After Wrestlemania episode because it certainly didn't feel that way. As PER usual, Monday Night RAW was not a good program.  I wanna briefly talk about the change in the commentary team.  Corey Graves makes his Monday Night RAW commentary return and he was his usual self.  Adnan Virk made his Monday Night RAW debut on the commentary and he was decent. I mean, the dude was once fired from his ESPN gig over leaking information so he fits this business right in.  Images via WWE.com   Bobby Lashley vs Riddle. This match came about after Riddle challenged Lashley to a match and the Almighty was like, "you're a loser" (Bob is right though).  And Bobby Lashley proved his point by tapping Riddle out to the Full Nelson submission. Cool.   The Viking Raiders vs Cedric Alexander And Shelton Benjamin.  A competitive match but it was aight. The Viking Raiders are back, taking the W with the Viking Experience. It feels like yesterday that C...
