WWE NXT 13/4/21 | A Coherent Review.

A new night which means new graphics and a new theme song courtesy of NXT's favourite singer, Poppy.

NXT got a fresh new look and I like it. As far as how I feel about the episode itself, it was a fun two hours of professional wrestling television.

Karrion Kross Wants New Challengers.

Kross praised Finn Balor as a competitor but unfortunately for Balor, he lost to the man that is hungry for challengers.

And that was the promo. It was fine. I do think the next challenger for the championship is Kyle O'Reilly but who knows at this point?

The yellow brand aired a highlight video of Takeover: Stand And Deliver (which you can check out the review for both nights here and here).

Msk vs Killian Dain And Drake Maverick For The NXT Tag Team Championship.

Msk were booed during this match which is odd. You could argue that it's because they're facing an adorable team of Drake Maverick and Killian Dain.

Either way, it's really questionable that Msk is getting some negative reactions. Nevertheless, this tag team bout was good although it was pretty short.

Msk retained the black and gold belts with a double team neckbreaker into a spinebuster on Drake Maverick.

After the match, Killian Dain was attacked by his former Sanity partner, Alexander Wolfe and the rest of Imperium. My man Wolfe was like, "f**k my friend".

NXT aired exclusive footage of Adam Cole cursing at Kyle O'Reilly while he's been taken out by WWE's medical team.

I've never seen a person having the energy to talk sh*t while dealing with a series of injuries. That scene was unintentionally funny to me.

Mercedes Martinez vs Jessi Kamea.

Robert Stone owes Martinez her money and Kamea wasn't having disrespect to Stone. They settled this in a quick encounter where Martinez prevailed. Martinez then forced Robert Stone to give her money back. Cool.

Santos Escobar vs Kushida For The Cruiserweight Championship.

Escobar issued an open challenge for the championship and Kushida answered the challenge.

Kushida killed off his jeans attire and replaced it with trunks (RIP Kushida's jeans).

Hey, the match was fun, fun, fun!

Kushida just became the new cruiserweight champion which begs the question, why did Jordan Devlin lose the ladder if Escobar would lose the championship a mere week later?

This opens up for Escobar to compete in the main event at least I hope so.

Speaking of Jordan Devlin, he told Kushida that he's aiming for that title.

Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher said in a backstage promo that they're coming for the NXT tag team championship. Okay, I'm intrigued.

Raquel Gonzalez Meets A New Debuting Persona.

Gonzalez mentioned her NXT women's championship victory and thanked Dakota Kai for the dominant success Gonzalez had.

Out came the debuting Franky Monet aka Taya Valkyrie and they had an exchange of words in Spanish.

Funny sh*t even though I do not understand a lick of Spanish.

RAW's Rhea Ripley and Smackdown's Bianca Belair showed up to congratulate Raquel Gonzalez.

Now that was a great visual. What a moment. By far, the best thing about this episode.

Sarray debuts next week (awesome). Meanwhile, Roderick Strong told William Regal that he is quitting NXT.

I think Smackdown would be a great brand for Roderick to be a part of. I could see him being a good intercontinental champion, at some point.

Leon Ruff vs Isiah Swerve Scott.

The match was fine. Swerve Scott wins with a modified sitout death valley driver of some sort (aka probably my new favourite finisher).

Swerve Scott was brutally attacked by Leon Ruff. I guess the feud ain't over (no sh*t, Omar).

Mercedes Martinez and Zoey Stark were going back and forth verbally regarding who gets a women's championship opportunity.

Dexter Lumis, Bronson Reed, Shotzi Blackheart And Ember Moon vs The Way In Johnny Gargano, Candice LeRae, Indi Hartwell And Austin Theory.

For weeks, they've been telling the story of Indi Hartwell trying to hook up with Dexter Lumis (the social media content from Hartwell for this storyline is f'ing hilarious).

And In this match, the storyline got the pay off as Dexter Lumis was carrying Indi Hartwell and left the ring.

Another definite highlight of the math was when Ember Moon nailed the eclipse on Austin Theory.

The good guys picked up the victory with a tsunami from Bronson Reed to Austin Theory.

A great main event bout is all I'll say.

So, to recap for all of you slow mofos.

Like: Raquel Gonzalez and Franky Monet segment then the women's champions moment, Kushida vs Santos Escobar, Msk vs Killian Dain and Drake Maverick.

Didn't like: Nothing really.

WWE Smackdown 4/2/22 | A Coherent Review.

Gotta be honest guys, this episode didn't do it for me.  Besides the announcement of Ronda Rousey challenging Charlotte Flair for the blue women's belt at Wrestlemania as well as another challenge proposed by Goldberg aka NoBerg to the tribal chief, this, like last week's show, was as skippable as an anime filler episode.  Paul Heyman Was Like, "F**k That Brock Guy!"  Brock and Paul legit need some counselling because they've broken up and reunited together like my relationship with the Call of Duty franchise. To quote Gordon Ramsey, "DAMN! DAMN! DAMN! DAMN!"  All lame banter aside, Paul Heyman's promos before Goldberg's appearance was the only good thing throughout the entire show.  As far as how I feel about the idea of Goldberg facing Roman Reigns at the upcoming Elimination Chamber show, major Ls on this one.   Ricochet vs Ridge Holland.  Yay, the "one on one match that later turned into a tag match" cliche. The difference is t...

The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Fyter Fest 2020 Came Back Swinging?

Last week, on this very series, I said that I enjoyed Great American Bash better than Fyter Fest.  Well, this week is the exact opposite. AEW came in swinging with night 2 Fyter Fest.  I've not liked a Dynamite episode in several weeks so it's nice to see that the show finally executed a great show since God knows how long.   NXT      Highlights (at least in my opinion because wrestling is subjective).  Mia Yim vs Candice LeRae In A Street Fight. The match went underway after Yim quickly attacked Candice LeRae during LeRae's entrance.  In the crowd area, Candice tried to nail the suplex on the table but Yim got out of that position and kicked her to which she landed through the table.  The Streetfight concluded with LeRae striking Yim with the brass knuckles followed by a swinging neck from the top of the table onto a bunch of chairs and that's how LeRae defeats the HBIC.  A fun opening match even though...

WWE Smackdown Season Premiere | A Coherent Review.

It is the season premiere of Friday night Smackdown even though WWE doesn't have an offseason.  Nevertheless, it was a decent program and had a WAY better ending than whatever the hell of an ending last year's premiere of Friday night Smackdown showed.  There isn't a women's match this week and all of the AEW fanboys are looking at this like, "sEe, WWE dOeSn't feATuRe wOmeN'S mAtChEs aLsO."  pictures via WWE.com The Season Premiere Of Smackdown 2020.  The show started off with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon highlighting the scheduled matches for Smackdown as well as the superstars.  Chaos then ensued thanks to a huge brawl. Then, the "super freak" Lars Sullivan came out and delivered the freak accident to Shorty G.  Somehow, Jeff Hardy attacked him and that led to the opening match of the night between Lars and Jeff.  You know, I'm kind of surprised that two white people in McMahon and Hemsley knew who Rick James is.  Maybe I'm igno...
