WWE Smackdown Live 8/1/19 | My Coherent Review.

Smackdown Live was a very good show with most of the show focusing on the wrestling aspect which is always a plus depending on the matches of course and here's why.

Daniel Bryan Goes Insane And It’s Awesome.

WWE Champion Daniel Bryan kicks off SmackDown LIVE with an epic rant.
The show started off with Daniel Bryan walking around the arena basically describing how people are consuming nothing but toxicity into themselves and the environment (God, I love crazy social justice Daniel Bryan). Then outta nowhere, R Truth jumped on Bryan and put the mugging out of him which led to a match between R Truth and Daniel Bryan. Speaking of which………………

Daniel Bryan vs R Truth.

This was a quick one. Truth was going for a splash on the turnbuckle but Daniel reversed that and hits him with the running knee to win this match. As Daniel was leaving the stage area, AJ came out and hits him with straight right hands to Daniel Bryan until security was able to separate Styles.

Rey Mysterio and Mustafa Ali vs Andrade Cien Almas and Samoa Joe.

Rey Mysterio and Andrade Cien Almas had one of my favorite TV matches of last year (click here if you wanna read my top 7 best WWE TV matches of 2018) but was this all good? Yes, this was a good match. At one point, Ali did a slide into a quick face buster to Almas which looked awesome. The match ended with Almas delivered the hammerlock DDT and won the match. Again, a very solid match and finally Andrade got a big W in his main roster run.

Rusev calls out Shinsuke Nakamura.

Instead, Nakamura appears from a SmackDown LIVE production truck.
Rusev came out to the ring upset about what Shinsuke did to his wife. Shinsuke was in the production truck and showed him the footage of last week’s show where Rusev hit his wife. Rusev then exited the ring to look for Shinsuke and while Rusev was backstage, Shinsuke outta nowhere hits him with a metal box. The segment ended with Shinsuke delivered a Kinshasa to Rusev. This is the feud I don’t care about and I hoping that once Rusev is done with Nakamura, he feuds with El Idolo.

The Usos vs The Bar. If Usos wins then they face The Bar for the Smackdown Live Tag Team Championship.

It’s no shocker that they can pull out a good match and that’s exactly what they did. By the end of the match, Mandy Rose (Yes Mandy Rose) distracted Jimmy Uso and Cesaro used that distraction as an advantage and hits Jey Uso with the neutraliser to win this match. After the match, The Miz came out and challenged The Bar for the Smackdown Live Tag Team Championship. The Bar had other ideas and Sheamus delivered the Brogue Kick to Miz. Well, that was a awkward and bad end to this match.

There was a 2 on 1 backstage brawl between Naomi, Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville only for then Jimmy Uso to break this up.

Daniel Bryan by the way, cut a Psychotic promo backstage when he was interviewed by Kayla Braxton about AJ Styles.

Also something that happened backstage, a match between The Bar vs The Miz and Shane McMahon for The Smackdown Live Tag Team Championship at the Royal Rumble is official. I will give this match credit, at least it isn’t the same variations of tag teams facing The Bar for the Tag Team Championship.

Charlotte Flair vs Becky Lynch vs Carmella. Winner Faces Asuka For The Smackdown Live Tag Team Championship.

 WWE Photo
A very good main event. At one point. Charlotte delivered a beautiful moonsault on both Carmella and Becky Lynch. By the end of the match, Carmella carried Becky Lynch, then quickly Lynch turned it into a disarmher and just like that, Becky Lynch won the match. And she’s facing Asuka for the Smackdown Live Women’s Championship.

So, to recap for all of you slow mofos

Like: The main event, opening match, Daniel Bryan’s psychotic promo.

Didn’t like: The ending of The Bar vs Usos match.

The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Fyter Fest 2020 Came Back Swinging?

Last week, on this very series, I said that I enjoyed Great American Bash better than Fyter Fest.  Well, this week is the exact opposite. AEW came in swinging with night 2 Fyter Fest.  I've not liked a Dynamite episode in several weeks so it's nice to see that the show finally executed a great show since God knows how long.   NXT      Highlights (at least in my opinion because wrestling is subjective).  Mia Yim vs Candice LeRae In A Street Fight. The match went underway after Yim quickly attacked Candice LeRae during LeRae's entrance.  In the crowd area, Candice tried to nail the suplex on the table but Yim got out of that position and kicked her to which she landed through the table.  The Streetfight concluded with LeRae striking Yim with the brass knuckles followed by a swinging neck from the top of the table onto a bunch of chairs and that's how LeRae defeats the HBIC.  A fun opening match even though...

WWE Smackdown Season Premiere | A Coherent Review.

It is the season premiere of Friday night Smackdown even though WWE doesn't have an offseason.  Nevertheless, it was a decent program and had a WAY better ending than whatever the hell of an ending last year's premiere of Friday night Smackdown showed.  There isn't a women's match this week and all of the AEW fanboys are looking at this like, "sEe, WWE dOeSn't feATuRe wOmeN'S mAtChEs aLsO."  pictures via WWE.com The Season Premiere Of Smackdown 2020.  The show started off with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon highlighting the scheduled matches for Smackdown as well as the superstars.  Chaos then ensued thanks to a huge brawl. Then, the "super freak" Lars Sullivan came out and delivered the freak accident to Shorty G.  Somehow, Jeff Hardy attacked him and that led to the opening match of the night between Lars and Jeff.  You know, I'm kind of surprised that two white people in McMahon and Hemsley knew who Rick James is.  Maybe I'm igno...

WWE Smackdown 4/2/22 | A Coherent Review.

Gotta be honest guys, this episode didn't do it for me.  Besides the announcement of Ronda Rousey challenging Charlotte Flair for the blue women's belt at Wrestlemania as well as another challenge proposed by Goldberg aka NoBerg to the tribal chief, this, like last week's show, was as skippable as an anime filler episode.  Paul Heyman Was Like, "F**k That Brock Guy!"  Brock and Paul legit need some counselling because they've broken up and reunited together like my relationship with the Call of Duty franchise. To quote Gordon Ramsey, "DAMN! DAMN! DAMN! DAMN!"  All lame banter aside, Paul Heyman's promos before Goldberg's appearance was the only good thing throughout the entire show.  As far as how I feel about the idea of Goldberg facing Roman Reigns at the upcoming Elimination Chamber show, major Ls on this one.   Ricochet vs Ridge Holland.  Yay, the "one on one match that later turned into a tag match" cliche. The difference is t...
