WWE SummerSlam 2020 | A Coherent Review

is summerslam just the go home show before wwe payback which is next sunday — nL Kewl J (@johnblud) August 23, 2020 Not gonna lie, that tweet was legit funny. This is THE coherent and honest review for the 2020 edition of the annual SummerSlam event.  This show was fantastic. No bad or dull matches, great storytelling, certain plot developments that will entice you to watch the shows to find out what happens next.  Just some good 3 hours of straight-up awesome professional wrestling.  Who would've thought that a main roster show is better than a Takeover (which you can click here to read my review for it)?  Also, thank you, Renee Young, for being great at what you do as a host.   She will certainly be missed in WWE.  pictures via WWE.com PRESHOW: Apollo Crews vs MVP For The United States Championship.  "We ball in. Straight up ball in". MVP Just brought back the theme song that he briefly used before he left the compa...

NXT Takeover: 30 | A Coherent Review.

NXT Takeovers have delivered greatly throughout the "30 years" of Takeover shows.  This one, in my opinion, wasn't it. For a Takeover program, this was disappointing.  All of the Takeovers are A's or B's and Takeover 30 was a C at best.  At least, I like the stage production set.  pictures via WWE.com PRESHOW: Breezango vs Legado De La Fantasma vs Oney Lorcan And Danny Burch. Winner Faces Imperium For The NXT Tag Team Championship.  It was a fine match. Joaquin Wilde's ring gear was really cool even though it took a bit out of the seriousness from the Legado De La Fantasma stable. I'm just nitpicking though.  Breezango actually won the match and will go on to face Imperium for the tag belts.  MAIN SHOW: Finn Balor vs Timothy Thatcher.  Timothy Thatcher started off this match with a series of punches which he then later transitioned into various submission moves.  Pretty much, Finn has no choice but to adapt to...

AEW Saturday Night Dynamite | A Coherent Review.

I was excited about writing this recap because this is the first time that I've reviewed AEW Dynamite separately.  The question is, is AEW's counter-programming with NXT Takeover 30 worth it?  In terms of quality, I wouldn't say that it's on the level of a freaking Takeover (at least the previous ones) but it was a great show though.  Side note, the NXT Takeover 30 review will be up several hours later.  In case when it is already up, click here to read the whole thing.  FTR vs Private Party.  The show kicked off with this tag team bout but with no entrances. The match itself  was fun as hell.  Isiah Kassidy did a springboard stunner on Cash Wheeler which led to a crossbody from Marq Quen on to Dax Harwood.  The match ended with the shatter machine aka the good night empress to Quen and won the match.  Again, a fun match.  In a backstage promo, Moxley says that what MJF has said about Moxley doe...

WWE Smackdown 21/8/20 | A Coherent Review.

Thunder dome. Thunder dome. THUNDER DOMMMMMME!  Never mind the fact that the Thunderdome name was a reference of the third Mad Max movie that literally went over my head.  I thought the crowd that surrounded the arena with the led strips didn't add anything to the overall presence.  I will say, the production for the Thunderdome was A1.  As far as my thoughts on the episode of Smackdown? It was decent. Just decent.  Side note, there will be no 5 News Week tomorrow as I'm going to post an AEW as well as an NXT Takeover: XXX review.  pictures via WWE.com Mr McMahon Opens The Show And Sh*t Goes Down.  Vinne Mac kicked off the episode of Smackdown inside the THUNDERDOME welcoming everyone watching the show.  The lights went down and The Fiend's music played and out walks The Fiend to the ring while Vince stands in the middle of the ring.  Braun Strowman showed up and he as well as The Fiend had a bit of a staredow...

WWE NXT 19/8/20 | A Coherent Review.

I've not reviewed NXT separately in almost a year so this brought back memories of me reviewing NXT when it was an hour-long.  Ahhh, good times.  But, in any case, this is the coherent review for the final NXT before Takeover: XXX and what did I think about it?  I actually really like it.  Unlike WWE's flagship show, this episode did great on building exhilaration for a PPV.  pictures via WWE.com Ridge Holland vs Johnny Gargano. Winner Qualifies In The NXT North American Championship Ladder Match At Takeover: XXX.  This was a decent opening match of the night.  Gargano took a nasty fall that landed on his neck due to a slam of some sort from Holland.  Hoping he's okay from that fall. Gargano somehow won the match with the one final beat.  Dakota Kai vs Jessi Kamea.  After Dakota Kai's victory over Kamea, Kai grabbed the microphone to tell Io Shirai that she will kick Io over and over again....
