WWE NXT 19/8/20 | A Coherent Review.

NXT Preview For Tonight: Final Show Before TakeOver | PWMania.com

I've not reviewed NXT separately in almost a year so this brought back memories of me reviewing NXT when it was an hour-long.

Ahhh, good times.

But, in any case, this is the coherent review for the final NXT before Takeover: XXX and what did I think about it?

I actually really like it.

Unlike WWE's flagship show, this episode did great on building exhilaration for a PPV.

Ridge Holland vs Johnny Gargano. Winner Qualifies In The NXT North American Championship Ladder Match At Takeover: XXX.

WWE Photo

This was a decent opening match of the night.

Gargano took a nasty fall that landed on his neck due to a slam of some sort from Holland.

Hoping he's okay from that fall. Gargano somehow won the match with the one final beat.

Dakota Kai vs Jessi Kamea.

After Dakota Kai's victory over Kamea, Kai grabbed the microphone to tell Io Shirai that she will kick Io over and over again.

Out came Io Shirai herself and they had a brawl between each other.

However, Io was taken down by a returning Raquel Gonzalez. Gonzalez hasn't been on TV in weeks. Overall, it was not offensive.

Tegan Nox said in an interview with McKenzie Mitchell that the time for talking to her former friend Candice LeRae is over.

In a video promo hyping up the match between Finn Balor and *ugh* Velveteen Dream, the prince says that Dream had way too many chances.

Balor ended this saying that the Dream will not stop him from becoming the next North American championship.

I have to say, the production in this was exceptional.

Legado De La Fantasma vs Breezango And Isiah Swerve Scott.

WWE Photo

There was a great tag team moonsault move being executed by Legado De La Fantasma.

The match concluded with the phantom driver from Santos Escobar to Tyler Breeze and won the match. This multi-man bout honestly ruled.

Speaking of which, both Breezango, Joaquin Wilde and Raul Mendoza will take part along with Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch in a number one contenders match for the NXT tag team championship in the preshow.

We haven't seen an NXT pre-show match since Isiah Swerve Scott faced Angel Garza on the NXT War Games so this should be fun.

Adam Cole Confronts Pat McAfee Before NXT Takeover 30.

So. Pat McAfee brought up his NFL buddies and in his promo, Pat was pretty much-talking sh*t about Adam Cole saying that he's better than Cole.

Cole replied to his promo telling him to his face and I quote, "this Saturday at Takeover, I'm gonna make you my b*tch".

That entire segment SOLD me on this feud and that is saying something.

While Pat McAfee's promo was simple in concept, he did deliver it with such finesse and charisma.

Rhea Ripley And Shotzi Blackheart vs Aliyah And Mercedes Martinez.

A take it or leave it type of encounter, to be honest. The good guys won the match.

A Preview Video Package From The Keith Lee and Karrion Kross NXT Championship Match At Takeover: XXX.

Just like the Finn Balor and Velveteen Dream promo from earlier, the production in this was fantastic.

The theme song for Takeover: XXX fits it greatly.

During the match, Cameron Grimes was sitting on top of the ladder outside the ring with the North American championship in his hands.

Gargano pushed the ladder that made Grimes land on to the referee, knocking the official out in the process.

All the rest of the competitors that will be in the ladder match, were in the ring while the Dream hits the purple rainmaker to qualify for the North American championship ladder match.

After the match, all of the participants were brawling with each other.

Fortunately, minutes later, Bronson Reed stood tall to end this week's episode of N. X. T.

This is going to be really hard to accept that Velveteen Dream is on WWE TV like nothing happened considering that he was exposed as a child predator.

Also, according to one of the victims, they haven't heard from Triple H or WWE for that matter. Just saying.

So, to recap for all of you slow mofos.

Like: Legado De La Fantasma vs Brezzango and Isiah Swerve Scott, Adam Cole and Pat McAfee segment, the production value behind the promo packages.

Didn't like: Why give Velveteen Dream TV time?

The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Fyter Fest 2020 Came Back Swinging?

Last week, on this very series, I said that I enjoyed Great American Bash better than Fyter Fest.  Well, this week is the exact opposite. AEW came in swinging with night 2 Fyter Fest.  I've not liked a Dynamite episode in several weeks so it's nice to see that the show finally executed a great show since God knows how long.   NXT      Highlights (at least in my opinion because wrestling is subjective).  Mia Yim vs Candice LeRae In A Street Fight. The match went underway after Yim quickly attacked Candice LeRae during LeRae's entrance.  In the crowd area, Candice tried to nail the suplex on the table but Yim got out of that position and kicked her to which she landed through the table.  The Streetfight concluded with LeRae striking Yim with the brass knuckles followed by a swinging neck from the top of the table onto a bunch of chairs and that's how LeRae defeats the HBIC.  A fun opening match even though...

WWE Smackdown Season Premiere | A Coherent Review.

It is the season premiere of Friday night Smackdown even though WWE doesn't have an offseason.  Nevertheless, it was a decent program and had a WAY better ending than whatever the hell of an ending last year's premiere of Friday night Smackdown showed.  There isn't a women's match this week and all of the AEW fanboys are looking at this like, "sEe, WWE dOeSn't feATuRe wOmeN'S mAtChEs aLsO."  pictures via WWE.com The Season Premiere Of Smackdown 2020.  The show started off with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon highlighting the scheduled matches for Smackdown as well as the superstars.  Chaos then ensued thanks to a huge brawl. Then, the "super freak" Lars Sullivan came out and delivered the freak accident to Shorty G.  Somehow, Jeff Hardy attacked him and that led to the opening match of the night between Lars and Jeff.  You know, I'm kind of surprised that two white people in McMahon and Hemsley knew who Rick James is.  Maybe I'm igno...

THE Coherent AEW Take: Christian Dior, Dior. Eddie Kingston up in all the stores!

Ever since AEW Dynamite was on Saturday night for a bit, I've been WAY behind on AEW content so excuse my ignorance. And It's Full Gear weekend which means another PPV that would last longer than the Snyder cut.  Sheeit, I'll bet the collar and elbow hold alone from the Hangman Page and Kenny Omega championship match, is longer than the entire Queen's Crown tournament.  As far as how I feel about both programs this week, well.  They did an okay job on building towards the final AEW PPV of the year this Saturday. Rampage.   Highlights.  Bryan Danielson vs Anthony Bowens.  And no, the highlight doesn't include Max Caster's verses. I'll rather listen to f**king Riff Raff than Max Caster's dig on anything.  The worst part, people are probably going to look at this and say, "can't wait for a Max Caster's appearance on Wild 'N Out!"  With that being said, this opening match was good. Danielson wins with the rebel lock.  Eddie Kingston (wi...
