AEW Saturday Night Dynamite | A Coherent Review.

AEW Dynamite live blog (Aug. 22, 2020): Cody vs. Brodie Lee ...

I was excited about writing this recap because this is the first time that I've reviewed AEW Dynamite separately.

The question is, is AEW's counter-programming with NXT Takeover 30 worth it?

In terms of quality, I wouldn't say that it's on the level of a freaking Takeover (at least the previous ones) but it was a great show though.

Side note, the NXT Takeover 30 review will be up several hours later.

In case when it is already up, click here to read the whole thing.

FTR vs Private Party.

The show kicked off with this tag team bout but with no entrances. The match itself was fun as hell.

Isiah Kassidy did a springboard stunner on Cash Wheeler which led to a crossbody from Marq Quen on to Dax Harwood.

The match ended with the shatter machine aka the good night empress to Quen and won the match.  Again, a fun match.

In a backstage promo, Moxley says that what MJF has said about Moxley doesn't bother the guy.

The champ questions Maxwell whether he's really that good.

As far as MJF's response, Maxwell Jacob Friedman is so good on the mic that he can't speak because he had his campaign manager basically hyping up the MJF campaign.

That was a fantastic promo, by the way. This is the most I've been interested in Jon Moxley's run as world champion since Brodie Lee.

Jurassic Express And Natural Nightmare vs The Lucha Brothers, Butcher And The Blade.

This was okay.  The good guys won the match with a pin from Jungle Boy to Blade. Their loss was due to some disagreement from the heel team.

Eddie Kingston showed up from outta nowhere shouting at the Lucha Brothers as well as The BB that they should be tag team champions and how they should join him to get to championship glory.

YEEEEEEAAAS! I am ALL IN for an Eddie Kingston managerial role.

The Vivian herself, Britt Baker gave Kip Sabian and Penelope Ford free dental care and free makeup if they took care of Big Swole. Cool.

Orange Cassidy vs Chris Jericho Announcement For All Out………..In A Mimosa Mayhem Match?

This entire beatdown from Inner Circle to Best Friends was, of course, to further build a mimosa mayhem match on September 5th.

This is the most WWE idea of a gimmick match. It's so goofy.

I'm actually tapped out of this rivalry. It was good for a few weeks but it is getting really old really quick.

Kenny Omega And The Young Bucks vs Dark Order's 3, 4 And 5.

An exciting tag team encounter. The Young Bucks did an impressive tag team manoeuvre with a bulldog followed by a dropkick.

Another impressive thing I've seen in this match was a pinning combination on Kenny Omega.

Omega ended the match with the one-winged angel that picked up the victory for his team.

After that, The Young Bucks stopped Omega from inflicting more damage on one of the Dark Order members. This is interesting.

The roster has a notable amount of heels so I don't know if the eventual heel turn will be worth it in the end. But that's just me.

FTR had a verbal interaction with Hangman Page after Tully Blanchard told Alex Marvez that FTR will walk out the tag team gauntlet number one contenders match THE guys to face Page and Omega for the tag belts.

God, I hope FTR wins that multi-man match. The idea of an FTR vs Hangman Page and Kenny Omega screams excitement.

Darby Allin Won His Match Against Will Hobbs And Then……...

Allin got a bit of a surprise from Taz and that is a Darby Allin imposter played by Ricky Starks which is a good impression by the way.

The strange enigma was then attacked from both Brian Cage and Ricky Starks. Starks is a God damn star.

So. Matt Hardy attacked Sammy Guevara with a steel chair.

You had Jim Ross saying that he has never seen an intense Matt Hardy and I'm like, you weren't there when Matt Hardy wanted to kayfabe wise, kill Edge back in 05?

Thunder Rosa says that she's here in AEW to become women's champion. Decent promo.

Ivelisse And Diamante vs The Nightmare Sisters In Allie And Brandi Rhodes. AEW Women's Tag Team Cup Finals.

I have not seen the entire tournament but I will say based on seeing the finals, Veda Scott is excellent on commentary.

I want to see more of her in the broadcast team. Oh, and the storytelling from her is A f'ing 1.

This was surprisingly a decent in-ring action. The team of Ivelisse and Diamante won the entire tournament with a kick on to Allie from Ivelisse.

Cody vs Mr Brodie Lee For The AEW TNT Championship.

Brodie Lee was booked like a monster in this bout.

That offence actually benefited him because he has just become the new TNT champion with the discus clothesline.

He then cut a promo saying that nobody believes in him and now he's a champion.

The Dark Order attacks Arn Anderson as well as an unconscious Cody.

Brandi Rhodes rushed to check on her husband to which she was actually attacked by its new member of Dark Order, Anna Jay.

Will see how Brodie Lee does with the belt. It is unfortunate that Cody's reign has ended because I for one, enjoyed his run as champion.

It was probably one of the best inaugural champions in recent memory if I'm being honest.

So, to recap for all of you slow mofos:

Like: FTR vs Private Party, Kenny Omega and Young Bucks vs Dark Order's 3, 4 And 5, the MJF campaign filmed segment, Eddie Kingston as a manager, Veda Scott on commentary for the AEW Women's tag team cup.

Didn't like: Orange Cassidy vs Chris Jericho again?

WrestleFest DXB's Fahrenheit 971 | A Coherent W.

Being a fan of pro wrestling (or any other medium of entertainment) does have its pros and cons when engaging with the industry as a whole.  On one hand, you've witnessed an Eddie Kingston promo that'll make you tear up more than the opening scene of Up.  On the other hand, going to the wrestling subreddit will definitely have you questioning humanity as a whole and the fact that living in an area where a wrestling presence pretty much doesn't exist like a Vince Russo-written storyline that is, you know, GOOD!?  Luckily, the latter retracted my con as a fan because I'm talking about Wrestlefest DXB and their latest joint, "971 Fahrenheit".  Martin Bushby of now Post Wrestling Alumni brought the event to my attention because like a wrestler on an episode of RAW I get distracted all the time.  So, I decided to take a short journey to a taxi then a bus then a train then a 30-minute walk to the show itself and I know I'm going to sound biased as f**k but I l...

WWE Wrestlemania 26 | A Coherent Review.

I've teased a mystery review on my Facebook page (which you can click here to follow us) and that mystery has now been unveiled. It's Wrestlemania 26. This review was delayed and was supposed to be up last Monday but at least is now up. Also, The first draft of this review was 7 pages long so strap in. By far, the longest review on this very website.  I thought it would be fitting to review a Wrestlemania from a decade back and how do I feel about it? It was a show that if you watched it, you're most likely going to have a good time. It was a mix of great things but terrible things at the same time as most shows.  The 26th edition of Wrestlemania took place in the University of Phoenix Stadium in the Phoenix suburb of Glendale, Arizona on March 28th, 2010.  The commentators were Micheal Cole, Jerry Lawler and Matt Striker. Honestly, Striker was pretty good and a far better colour commentator than Lawler was on this show (even today, Lawler is still bleh on commen...

WWE SummerSlam 2019 | My Coherent Review.

Did the SummerSlam 2019 edition deliver or did it underperformed? I would say it did deliver but it wasn't a home run. It was a good show with one unforgettable SummerSlam moment which I will get to.  You guys know where I'm going with this, I haven't seen the pre-show matches for reasons I've stated many times in my wrestling reviews but if you're new, I was asleep during Summerslam because it aired at 2am my time so yeah. Now, on with the review.  Becky Lynch vs Natalya for the RAW Women's Championship.  I know it's minor but holy crap, pyro is back and probably not for long. It wasn't that long ago that the RAW and SmackDown women's championships were the main event at a big PPV and now one of those titles is opening WWE's second-biggest PPV of the year. Not that I have a problem with that but rather it's interesting to bring up.  Anywho, the match itself did deliver from a technical wrestling geek's perspective. Natalya ab...
