Smackdown Live was besides one match, was a skippable show and here's why.  Opening Segment.  Basically SmackDown Live started off with Becky was backstage and drank whatever the hell Otis made in the blender. She then was in the ring and Becky said being the man is not easy. Becky also said that she delivered everything she said and how Asuka hasn't beaten Charlotte before.  Out came Asuka and she said that Becky only talks and Becky is like a bee that hasn't stung. Asuka ended the promo by saying that come Royal Rumble Becky is in her ring. Out came the Australian duo and they said that a champion shouldn't be intimidating but instead should be treated with class.  They also said that they're gonna win the GORGEOUS looking women's tag teams titles and win the women's Royal Rumble match. Was this show like last week's episode, a decent show? The answer is yes and here's why.  Opening segment. Monday night RAW started off with Braun Strowman and Braun said that Brock is afraid of him. He also that he was about to get his hands on Brock Lesnar at “WWE World cup” (you mean Crown Jewel right?) but Baron Corbin prevented him from doing that. Braun ended the promo by saying that he's all healed up and he will win the universal championship at the Royal Rumble.  Baron Corbin showed up and Corbin said that him standing on the stage area for 5 minutes, was longer than Braun Strowman lasted against Brock Lesnar. Baron Corbin also said that he will win the Royal Rumble and main event WrestleMania like as if nobody has ever said that before.  Strowman didn't take that lightly and decided to chase Corbin. Professional Wrestling in 2018 like anything in life, has its ups and downs. But in my opinion, 2018 is best known for great women’s wrestling and I’m gonna tell you reasons as to why 2018 is the best year for women’s wrestling in WWE because that’s what I’m familiar with.  Reason #1: The Mae Young Classic 2. Although the inaugural Mae Young Classic was very good, the sequel was better than the original. That tournament was a joy to watch from top to bottom.  Michael Cole was actually tolerable on commentary, Rhea Ripley did a complete 180 with her persona but most importantly, the matches were simply amazing.   Smackdown Live was a very good show with most of the show focusing on the wrestling aspect which is always a plus depending on the matches of course and here's why.  Daniel Bryan Goes Insane And It’s Awesome.  The show started off with Daniel Bryan walking around the arena basically describing how people are consuming nothing but toxicity into themselves and the environment (God, I love crazy social justice Daniel Bryan). Then outta nowhere, R Truth jumped on Bryan and put the mugging out of him which led to a match between R Truth and Daniel Bryan. Speaking of which……………… Daniel Bryan vs R Truth.  This was a quick one. Truth was going for a splash on the turnbuckle but Daniel reversed that and hits him with the running knee to win this match. My first RAW review of 2019 and surprisingly, this show was decent. Now, would RAW put on decent shows in the coming weeks or months? Probably not but I hope that's the case. Now, usually on my RAW and Smackdown Live reviews, I give my thoughts on what's good, what's ok and what bad ( click here if you curious as to how the format looks like). However, since this is the new year, I'm gonna get rid of that and instead just put my in-depth thoughts just like my PPV reviews. Without further ado, on with the review.  Opening Segment The show itself started off with a brawl between Seth Rollins and Bobby Lashley that lasted for a very short period of time.     If you have been away from social media for the past day or so, a wrestler by the name of Priscilla Kelly (who by the way, recently competed in the second Mae Young Classic tournament) competed in a match in which she pulled out her tampon and put it on her rival's mouth. That struck the wrestling world on Twitter with differences of opinions. She did respond to this on Twitter and here's what she had to say: Hey guys. Ya know, it's all fake. 21+ show with a bar. If you haven't figured it out already, I barely watch New Japan but was Wrestle Kingdom 13 a great way to make me watch NJPW full time? Unfortunately no. This was overall a decent show that had some gems in it and here's why. By the way, I thought that it was very interesting that none of the competitors in their respective matches actually retain their championships.  (photos courtesy of NJPW )  Kota Ibushi vs Will Ospreay for the NEVER Openweight Championship  This was a solid opener. Earlier in the match, Will Ospreay did a dive to Ibushi on the outside and minutes later, Kota Ibushi delivered a twisting Moonsault to Ospreay on the outside.  After that, they went back and forth with near falls until Ospreay hit a sick elbow on Kota’s head, delivered the Stormbreaker finish and won the match.
