WWE RAW 14/1/19 | My Coherent Review.

Was this show like last week's episode, a decent show? The answer is yes and here's why.

Opening segment.

Monday night RAW started off with Braun Strowman and Braun said that Brock is afraid of him. He also that he was about to get his hands on Brock Lesnar at “WWE World cup” (you mean Crown Jewel right?) but Baron Corbin prevented him from doing that. Braun ended the promo by saying that he's all healed up and he will win the universal championship at the Royal Rumble.

Baron Corbin showed up and Corbin said that him standing on the stage area for 5 minutes, was longer than Braun Strowman lasted against Brock Lesnar. Baron Corbin also said that he will win the Royal Rumble and main event WrestleMania like as if nobody has ever said that before.

Strowman didn't take that lightly and decided to chase Corbin. After that, Elias sang to Braun about Baron’s hidden location which was inside the Limo. After Braun destroyed the limousine door, Vince McMahon showed up and fined him for $100,000 and “cancelled” the universal championship match. The segment finally ended with Strowman flipped the limousine.

This was a LONGGGGGGG and boring opening segment.

Ronda Rousey and Sasha banks vs Nia Jax and Tamina

Okay, match I guess. The team of Sasha banks and Ronda Rousey with Sasha Delivered the bank statement to Tamina. After the match, Charly came out to do a quick interview with both competitors and Rousey said that she's honoured to beat Sasha Banks for the championship at the Royal Rumble.

Banks was bothered by that and said that she's honoured to teach Ronda how to lose with class. Ronda then called Sasha Banks a loser to which Sasha replied by saying that come Royal Rumble, she's gonna tap Ronda out and become the RAW women's champion. I'm loving that intensity from Sasha banks and that's something she desperately needs.

The Lucha House Party vs The Revival

You talk about change? This match ain't change for the better of the product. This match was so forgettable that there was a backstage interview during the match. The Revival won the match with Scott Dawson delivered the DDT to Gran Metalik.

Vince McMahon announces Brock Lesnar’s opponent for the Universal Championship

WWE Photo
Vince was gonna say something until John Cena’s music hits. John Cena cut a promo basically saying that he wouldn't let Vince McMahon down. John also said that he has something that no superstar has and it's ruthless aggression. Out came Drew McIntyre and said that he doesn't care about John's current success and how he's the only one that has ruthless aggression.

Baron Corbin came out and said that what's best for business is to give him the Universal championship match at the Royal Rumble. Finn Balor came out and said that he's tired of being left out when it comes of this type of conversations. Finn then went on to say that he's gonna show Vince McMahon what he's capable of which led to a brawl between all four men. I feel like Braun not facing Brock Lesnar is a blessing in disguise but that's just me.

A backstage segment between Vince McMahon and Jinder Mahal happened and in it, Vince basically announced a match between Mahal and Balor and the winner will be part of the fatal four-way match to determine who's gonna face Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble.

Bayley, Natalya and their partner of choice vs The Riott Squad

WWE Photo
Both Bayley and Natalya announced Nikki Cross as their partner for this match. Match itself was fine. The match ended with Nikki hit a neckbreaker to Liv Morgan followed by an elbow drop from Bayley and Bayley led her team to victory.

Jinder Mahal vs Finn Balor

You know if WWE wants to put Jinder in the title contention, why they can’t add him in that fatal four-way match, making it a fatal five-way match? Anyway, match was fine. Balor won the match with the coup de grace and is added to the fatal four-way match.

Dean Ambrose vs Seth Rollins vs Bobby Lashley for the Intercontinental championship

WWE Photo
Decent match. During the match, Bobby hit a beautiful pop up spinebuster to Seth Rollins. The match ended with Bobby hit a spear to Dean Ambrose and just like that, Bobby
Lashley is the new Intercontinental championship. I'm not gonna crap all over Bobby Lashley’s win because I'm going to give his reign a chance but it was an unexpected win.

A Moment of Bliss

Paul Heyman is Alexa̢۪s guest!
Alexa Bliss announced that the women's tag team championship will be held inside the elimination chamber in Houston, Texas at the Elimination Chamber PPV (by the way, those titles looks absolutely GORGEOUS). She then Introduces Paul Heyman. Paul Heyman said that emotions don't play but instead it's strategy that makes Brock unstoppable. Then out of nowhere, Otis from Heavy machinery appears at that's how this segment ended. Overall the segment was meh but again, THOSE TITLES THOUGH!

John Cena vs Drew McIntyre vs Baron Corbin vs Finn Balor. Winner faces Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship.

WWE Photo
An okay main event. The match ended with Drew McIntyre hit the claymore kick to Cena and Finn Balor threw Drew McIntyre outside the ring. Then Finn immediately hit John Cena with the coup de grace and Finn is the number one contender for the Universal Championship. Congrats to Finn Balor and if you look at the match card so far, the Royal Rumble is shaping up to be a great show.

So, to recap for all of you slow mofos:

Like: Finns win, the ending to the Ronda Rousey and Sasha banks vs Nia Jax and Tamina match.

Didn't like: The opening segment, Lucha House Party vs The Revival match.

WWE Smackdown Season Premiere | A Coherent Review.

It is the season premiere of Friday night Smackdown even though WWE doesn't have an offseason.  Nevertheless, it was a decent program and had a WAY better ending than whatever the hell of an ending last year's premiere of Friday night Smackdown showed.  There isn't a women's match this week and all of the AEW fanboys are looking at this like, "sEe, WWE dOeSn't feATuRe wOmeN'S mAtChEs aLsO."  pictures via WWE.com The Season Premiere Of Smackdown 2020.  The show started off with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon highlighting the scheduled matches for Smackdown as well as the superstars.  Chaos then ensued thanks to a huge brawl. Then, the "super freak" Lars Sullivan came out and delivered the freak accident to Shorty G.  Somehow, Jeff Hardy attacked him and that led to the opening match of the night between Lars and Jeff.  You know, I'm kind of surprised that two white people in McMahon and Hemsley knew who Rick James is.  Maybe I'm igno...

The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Fyter Fest 2020 Came Back Swinging?

Last week, on this very series, I said that I enjoyed Great American Bash better than Fyter Fest.  Well, this week is the exact opposite. AEW came in swinging with night 2 Fyter Fest.  I've not liked a Dynamite episode in several weeks so it's nice to see that the show finally executed a great show since God knows how long.   NXT      Highlights (at least in my opinion because wrestling is subjective).  Mia Yim vs Candice LeRae In A Street Fight. The match went underway after Yim quickly attacked Candice LeRae during LeRae's entrance.  In the crowd area, Candice tried to nail the suplex on the table but Yim got out of that position and kicked her to which she landed through the table.  The Streetfight concluded with LeRae striking Yim with the brass knuckles followed by a swinging neck from the top of the table onto a bunch of chairs and that's how LeRae defeats the HBIC.  A fun opening match even though...

THE Coherent AEW Take: Christian Dior, Dior. Eddie Kingston up in all the stores!

Ever since AEW Dynamite was on Saturday night for a bit, I've been WAY behind on AEW content so excuse my ignorance. And It's Full Gear weekend which means another PPV that would last longer than the Snyder cut.  Sheeit, I'll bet the collar and elbow hold alone from the Hangman Page and Kenny Omega championship match, is longer than the entire Queen's Crown tournament.  As far as how I feel about both programs this week, well.  They did an okay job on building towards the final AEW PPV of the year this Saturday. Rampage.   Highlights.  Bryan Danielson vs Anthony Bowens.  And no, the highlight doesn't include Max Caster's verses. I'll rather listen to f**king Riff Raff than Max Caster's dig on anything.  The worst part, people are probably going to look at this and say, "can't wait for a Max Caster's appearance on Wild 'N Out!"  With that being said, this opening match was good. Danielson wins with the rebel lock.  Eddie Kingston (wi...
