THE Coherent AEW Take: Rampage Was AWFUL!?

WOW! Another AEW recap despite how inconsistent this written series is? This must be an odd kinda week, right?

AEW Dynamite and Rampage were aight as a whole although I did find Rampage to be quite yawn-inducing despite being an hour-long program.

Rampage.

Highlights.

None, unfortunately.

Some Other Things That Happened.

Satnam Singh led his partner (Jay Lethal) to victory as they defeated Dave Vega and Matt Fitchett - Still don't get the hype AEW has for the big guy.

*Unenthusiastic* Yay, Will Ospreay's AEW in-ring debut - Cool.

Eddie Kingston defeated Jake Hager - Eddie Kingston aka wrestling's uncle. A decent match is all I'll say.

Red Velvet lost to Kris Statlander then chaos ensued - This ain't an AEW Show without a brawl or two, right?

Dynamite.

Highlights.

Jurassic Express vs The Young Bucks For the AEW World Tag Team Championship In *Dario Cueto's Voice* A LADDER MATCH!

Ladder match? The Young Bucks? A recipe for an enjoyable encounter. The Jackson bros won the championship for the 3rd time. The first tag team in AEW to do so.

That led to an unprettier and a conchairto from Christian to Jungle Boy. I guess both Edge and Christian had to……...switch roles (get it? Switch? Kill switch?).

Dax Hardwood vs Will Ospreay.

Dax honestly carried Ospreay (FIGHT ME!). The match ruled harder than the captain of the Normandy spaceship.

Ospreay won the match with an elbow to Dax's head and guess what happened?

A brawl happened but luckily, it didn't last long as Orange Cassidy appeared and confronted the former IWGP champion.

Some Other Things That Happened.

Chris Jericho defeated Ortiz in a hair vs hair match - RIP Ortiz's long locks. I had to lose my afro when I found out my hair was receding faster than the speed of light.

Also, Sammy Guevara reuniting with Jericho was the most Vince Russo level of plot twist I've ever seen all week.

Wardlow goes to war with a bunch of security guards - aka a 100 million-view clip waiting to happen. Also, really?  Wardlow siding with a guy that lost a boxing match with a vine star (bro, if I was him, you "guys" will never see me again).

Oh, look. Another brawl/beatdown segment. This time between Jon Moxley, Hiroshi Tanahashi and Jericho Appreciation Society  - AEW loves their brawl more than Vince McMahon's treatment of women.

Ethan Page lost to Miro in the All-Atlantic championship tournament - BULGARIA STRONG!

Toni Storm defeated Britt Baker - the doctor is indeed down.

Jay White said to both Hangman Page and Adam Cole, "no championship opportunity for y'all" - so, they're basically Man United then.

WWE Extreme Rules 2019 | My Coherent Review.

Man, I'm impressed with WWE in terms of PPVs as of late because overall, this was a fantastic show in my opinion with great matches but the crowd was dead for most of the show so that sucks.  I finally watched the pre-show match between Finn Balor and Shinsuke Nakamura before I went to bed because the show aired at 2 am where I live and it was okay.  By the way, how interesting is it when on last year’s Extreme Rules show, Shinsuke Nakamura won the United States championship and now this year’s show, he won the intercontinental title. Also, it's funny that the intercontinental championship was the main event on last's year show and on this year's Extreme Rules PPV, it's on the preshow.  Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre vs Roman Reigns and The Undertaker.  Mike Rome did better in announcing "The Best In the world" this time than on RAW. Mike Rome's announcement a few weeks ago sounded like that one friend that thinks he/she knows how to ...

NXT Takeover: In Your House 2020 | A Coherent Review.

NXT Takeover: In Your House is like the rest of the Takeover shows, a fantastic 2 hours of professional wrestling.  What makes this show special is the additional nostalgia like how the show started with the NXT WWF inspired intro, the ice cream commercial narrated by William Regal doing his best Lord Alferd Hayes impression, icopro commercial and last but not least, Todd Pettengill.  This is a show that I'm definitely rewatching in years to come.  Mia Yim, Tegan Nox And Shotzi Blackheart vs Raquel Gonzalez, Candice LeRae And Dakota Kai.  A decent opening match. During the match, Nox did a Molly Holly top rope on to every competitor in the match.  Yim tried to give LeRae some Seoul Food but LeRae reversed that into a suplex. Several minutes later, Shotzi did a Salida Del Sol of some sort on Gonzalez to which Nox delivered the shiniest wizard on Kai and won the match.  Finn Balor vs Damian Priest. I actually thought that the closing mo...

The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Holy Sh*t, The Revival Are All Elite, Matt Riddle vs Timothy Thatcher In A Unique Steel Cage Match.

Both shows had its weak points but overall, that was an enjoyable 4 hours of professional wrestling television. I personally liked AEW Dynamite this week.  From an awesome women's match with Shida and Christi Jaynes to The Revival showing up, AEW managed to give me a solid episode and successfully furthered their storylines to next week's exciting show.  NXT   Highlights (at least in my opinion because wrestling is subjective).  Kushida vs Drake Maverick vs Jake Atlas. Triple Threat Match Interim Cruiserweight Championship Tournament.  What a way to kick off this episode of NXT, am I right? Atlas delivered the rainbow DDT but Kushida broke Jake's pin.  Speaking of Kushida, he nailed the armbar submission, however, Drake pinned Atlas because Atlas' shoulders were on the mat and will meet El Hijo Del Fantasma for the finals next week.  I don't know if Drake is rehired or he's going to be rehired but Maverick has a big ta...
