WWE NXT 17/8/21 | A Coherent Review.

The leaf isn't looking too green for NXT as reports emerge that the brand is going back to filming episodes and apparently, the USA network ain't too happy with the decision. If that doesn't scream, "I'm kinda screwed" I don't know what is.

Now, Last week's episode was probably the worst NXT episode in recent memory? The question is, did the ties change this week? Not really.

It wasn't bad but at the same time, it wasn't noteworthy either (besides one particular moment). The show was just there, you know.

Ilja Dragonov vs Roderick Strong.

Hey, look, a good wrestling match. Dragonov won here (thank the lords) with an uppercut to which he calls out Walter (bro, you just wrestled a brutal match and the last thing you want is a beating. Save that energy for Saturday).

He did get his wish after Msk's match over Imperium but Dragonov (along with Msk) took a BEATING from Walter which isn't surprising, of course.

Cannot wait for this encounter. Give those dudes all the time in the world to destroy each other.

A prime target video promoting the third match of the Adam Cole and Kyle O'Reilly saga. NXT's video packages especially have an A* production value so I'm not surprised that this one was well done.

In a segment between Hit Row and Legado De La Fantasma, Isiah Swerve Scott was assaulted by Legado De La Fantasma only for the leader of Hit Row to get some assistance by the rest of the members of said faction.

It was aight. Nothing too exciting or awful happened here.

Moving on. After Grimes defeated Josh Briggs, LA Knight was like, "Nah, I'll attack you, my guy" which is exactly what happened.

Like I said in my last week's review, how the match took place felt a little too rushed but it is what it is, I guess.

Dexter Lumis And Indi Hartwell vs Robert Stone And Jessi Kamea.

The match itself was forgettable but the ending wasn't.

Indi Hartwell proposed to Dexter Lumis and the big man accepted it.

YES, YES, YES, YES, YES! LOVE IS REAL, FOLKS! F**K THE WAY FOR TRYING TO RUIN HARTWELL'S RELATIONSHIP WITH DEXTER! WHAT A MOMENT!

All sarcasm aside, this has to be the best love story ever told since Mandy Rose and Otis, right?

Raquel Gonzalez and Dakota Kai argued over who's leaves the CWC as the NXT women's champion.

The match that I look forward to the least and the sad thing is, they could've done something unique here but they pulled the "best friends now bitter rivals" cliche and followed that trope word by word.

Speaking of backstage segments, Ridge Holland aired a sort of challenge to Timothy Thatcher. Now, you have my attention based on the contrasting of styles between both of those guys.

Carmelo Hayes vs Duke Hudson. NXT Breakout Tournament Semi-Finals.

A decent encounter. Hayes goes to the finals with a leg drop from the top rope.

A vignette had aired for Jacy Janye. Not too familiar with the performer but as the cliche saying goes, "It should be interesting".

And the final segment of this episode ends with an absolute brawl between Karrion Kross (aka the reverse winning streak) and Samoa Joe. Meh.

So, to recap for all of you slow mofos.

Like: Ilja Dragonov vs Roderick Strong, Indi Hartwell proposes to Dexter Lumis.

Didn't like: Nothing really.

WrestleFest DXB's Fahrenheit 971 | A Coherent W.

Being a fan of pro wrestling (or any other medium of entertainment) does have its pros and cons when engaging with the industry as a whole.  On one hand, you've witnessed an Eddie Kingston promo that'll make you tear up more than the opening scene of Up.  On the other hand, going to the wrestling subreddit will definitely have you questioning humanity as a whole and the fact that living in an area where a wrestling presence pretty much doesn't exist like a Vince Russo-written storyline that is, you know, GOOD!?  Luckily, the latter retracted my con as a fan because I'm talking about Wrestlefest DXB and their latest joint, "971 Fahrenheit".  Martin Bushby of now Post Wrestling Alumni brought the event to my attention because like a wrestler on an episode of RAW I get distracted all the time.  So, I decided to take a short journey to a taxi then a bus then a train then a 30-minute walk to the show itself and I know I'm going to sound biased as f**k but I l...

Let's Talk About The White Rabbit In The Room.

I haven't reviewed last year's show mainly because it was so good and clearly as extreme as any ECW match and I'm happy to tell all 3 of y'all that this one is better by several inches or so. Why? *slaps my bald head* HERE'S WHY. The opening match between Sheamus and Gunther's crew ruled harder than the Mongolian empire.  It was basically an enhanced version of Sheamus' match with Gunther last night on Smackdown and I loved it.  The Brawling Brutes' victory means one thing that is clearly obvious, a rematch between Sheamus and Gunther for the intercontinental championship aka the only series of rematches I don't mind.  Ronda Rousey and Liv Morgan delivered in what was a wrestling match equivalent to the X-Men Dark Phoenix movie.  While Bianca Belair and Bayley had their equivalent to the first Iron Man movie in that it was decent.  Drew McIntyre and Karrion Kross had an okay edition of the "Meaty men slapping meat".  That spear from Edge to...

A Few Thoughts On RAW And Smackdown: RAW wasn't GREAT!?

Since this blog will be less of a priority now considering I'm focusing on my podcast now (hit the 5 stars on Apple Podcast you sons of b*tches), I decided to share my few thoughts on RAW, Smackdown, I guess?  Smackdown.  The blue brand delivered yet another good episode this week and it's probably due to the fact that Braun Strowman taking out the Maximum Model is high-key funny as f**k.  The folks over at Titan Towers are bringing back the essence of their characters whether it's Kevin Owens, Shayna Baszler or in this case, Big Braun himself.   As a fan, you gotta love it, especially since in the case of Strowman, the dude hasn't been the same since he turned heel 4 years ago when feuding with Roman Reigns for the universal title.   Other noteworthy segments include Logan Paul challenging Roman Reigns for the big world universal multiverse galactic cinematic championship.  Imagine they pulled that match off 7 years ago back when Logan was on V...
