The 5 News Week: Quick Predictions On Wrestlemania: Backlash.

Hello, my fellow wrestling fans and welcome to the 5 news week. The post where I report 5 major or minor pro wrestling news, rumours and spoilers of the week that I don't have time to do it separately.  Without further ado, here are the 5 news week.

A Brief Thoughts On AEW Dynamite.

For the first time on this very series, I am going to briefly discuss my thoughts on AEW Dynamite and it was decent for the most part. I do have some perspectives on a few key things.

Most notably, that Cody Rhodes promo which by the way, was without exaggeration, one of the worst PROMOS I've ever witnessed as a 14 year veteran in the wrestling fandom.

The overall dialogue was an example of American imperialism and without a little or too much propaganda (while having the basic understanding of American imperialism), it exposed the very dated nature of the "America vs foreign heel" storyline.

Let's move on to the positives. Miro's booking in recent months has been exceptional so it's really great that the booking has paid off with a title victory.

Oh, and the match itself was pretty good (give him an undefeated streak like his 2014 run as US champion).

The Young Bucks' heel role has been exceptional. They have really embraced the a**hole side of their personas.

Their mocking of the ending of Shawn Michaels' match with Ric Flair at Wrestlemania 24 was brilliant heel work that is honestly better than anything MJF, to be honest (also, f**k you Young Bucks for mocking an end to my favourite match of all time which you can read about it here).

Quick Predictions On Wrestlemania: Backlash.

The brief take for AEW Dynamite above, should convince you that this past week's news was slower than Internet Explorer circa 2009.

So, I've decided to write some quick predictions for Wrestlemania: Backlash aka Backlashimania. The predictions are highlighted in bold letters:

Bianca Belair vs Bayley For The SmackDown Women's Championship.

Bobby Lashley vs Drew McIntyre vs Braun Strowman For The WWE Championship.

The Miz vs Damian Priest.

Dolph Ziggler And Robert Roode vs Rey And Dominik Mysterio For The SmackDown Tag Team Championship.

Rhea Ripley (I hope) vs Asuka vs Charlotte Flair For The RAW Women's Championship.

Roman Reigns vs Cesaro For The Universal Championship.

An Update Regarding WWE Ready To Tour Again.

I've talked about this almost two months ago (sheeeesh) and there are some ramblings within the industry regarding WWE hitting the road once again.

Andrew Zarian of Mad Men Wrestling Podcast (the same dude that broke the story of NXT moving to Tuesday nights) has heard from his snitch that WWE is going to resume touring starting July 16th till the 19th.

With AEW announcing its return to live touring, fans coming back with 100% capacity is fantastic news (something that sounded psychotic and crazy to say just a year ago).

I'm honestly bored out of my eyes hearing the WWE 2K16 crowd noises from the Thunderdome. Thank God for the Bill Gates microchip (sarcasm of course).

Pro Wrestling Sheet Is With TheSportster. Where Does It Lead?

This is a piece of news that highlights the end of an important site in the wrestling journalism space.

If you haven't noticed already, Pro Wrestling Sheet is with a new corporate overlord, TheSportster.

TheSportster features some of the best-written content you've ever read like 10 Times A Female Wrestler Had A Male Manager, 10 Authority Figure Choices That Made No Sense, Apollo Crews Could Be This Smackdown Generation's JBL.

The downfall of the site started when Ryan Satin left the site to join FOX.

Their Twitter hasn't been updated in a week and the last YouTube video Pro Wrestling Sheet has updated was almost 2 months ago.

The last article was written on April 19th. Now, where does the site lead? To death is the answer.

Ryan Satin has built a very successful media piece in pro wrestling sheet and that is something I'm trying to do with this website even though I don't like the guy personally.

Yugi Nagata On His Favourite Opponent He’s Ever Faced.

Yugi Nagata was in a New Japan Pro Wrestling virtual meet and greet. In it, he mentioned that Kurt Angle was his favourite opponent he's encountered (from Post Wrestling). Hey, can't argue with that.

What do you think about the news I just reported and follow me on the tweets @omartheplayaguy? Anyways, stay safe smarks.

The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Fyter Fest 2020 Came Back Swinging?

Last week, on this very series, I said that I enjoyed Great American Bash better than Fyter Fest.  Well, this week is the exact opposite. AEW came in swinging with night 2 Fyter Fest.  I've not liked a Dynamite episode in several weeks so it's nice to see that the show finally executed a great show since God knows how long.   NXT      Highlights (at least in my opinion because wrestling is subjective).  Mia Yim vs Candice LeRae In A Street Fight. The match went underway after Yim quickly attacked Candice LeRae during LeRae's entrance.  In the crowd area, Candice tried to nail the suplex on the table but Yim got out of that position and kicked her to which she landed through the table.  The Streetfight concluded with LeRae striking Yim with the brass knuckles followed by a swinging neck from the top of the table onto a bunch of chairs and that's how LeRae defeats the HBIC.  A fun opening match even though...

WWE Smackdown Season Premiere | A Coherent Review.

It is the season premiere of Friday night Smackdown even though WWE doesn't have an offseason.  Nevertheless, it was a decent program and had a WAY better ending than whatever the hell of an ending last year's premiere of Friday night Smackdown showed.  There isn't a women's match this week and all of the AEW fanboys are looking at this like, "sEe, WWE dOeSn't feATuRe wOmeN'S mAtChEs aLsO."  pictures via WWE.com The Season Premiere Of Smackdown 2020.  The show started off with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon highlighting the scheduled matches for Smackdown as well as the superstars.  Chaos then ensued thanks to a huge brawl. Then, the "super freak" Lars Sullivan came out and delivered the freak accident to Shorty G.  Somehow, Jeff Hardy attacked him and that led to the opening match of the night between Lars and Jeff.  You know, I'm kind of surprised that two white people in McMahon and Hemsley knew who Rick James is.  Maybe I'm igno...

THE Coherent AEW Take: Christian Dior, Dior. Eddie Kingston up in all the stores!

Ever since AEW Dynamite was on Saturday night for a bit, I've been WAY behind on AEW content so excuse my ignorance. And It's Full Gear weekend which means another PPV that would last longer than the Snyder cut.  Sheeit, I'll bet the collar and elbow hold alone from the Hangman Page and Kenny Omega championship match, is longer than the entire Queen's Crown tournament.  As far as how I feel about both programs this week, well.  They did an okay job on building towards the final AEW PPV of the year this Saturday. Rampage.   Highlights.  Bryan Danielson vs Anthony Bowens.  And no, the highlight doesn't include Max Caster's verses. I'll rather listen to f**king Riff Raff than Max Caster's dig on anything.  The worst part, people are probably going to look at this and say, "can't wait for a Max Caster's appearance on Wild 'N Out!"  With that being said, this opening match was good. Danielson wins with the rebel lock.  Eddie Kingston (wi...
