WWE Smackdown 4/12/20 | A Coherent Review

The last time I reviewed Smackdown (which was 2 weeks ago), the program was disappointing.

I'm glad to tell you guys that the blue brand stepped up this week. This was a damn good episode in my opinion.

Yes, I didn't post The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays yesterday (an article series recapping NXT and AEW Dynamite) but good news, the piece has already been written and it will be up tomorrow which means the 5 News Week Look-Back will be delayed till next week.

The show started off with the entire WWE roster paying respect to the late Pat Patterson.

A Roman Reigns' Exclusive Interview With Kayla Braxton.

Before the upcoming tag team match between Roman Reigns, Jey Uso, Kevin Owens and Otis later in the night, the tribal chief was disgusted by Kalya's "stupid questions" and made Heyman answer Kalya's curiosity.

Out came Kevin Owens and he challenged Roman Reigns to a match at TLC for the blue belt in a tables, ladders and chairs encounter or maybe an encounter "right now".

Roman replied saying that he ain't a savage and walked out of the ring. Owens ended the segment, calling Roman a B. I. T. C. H.

Roman Reigns has embraced his sudden newfound patience ever since he returned to WWE last August which makes this current persona all that unique to the big dog.

In other words, Roman Reigns is SO GOOD right now and this scene tells you EXACTLY why.

Bayley vs Natalya.

Bayley lost to Natalya even though she's feuding with Bianca Belair.

Like, don't WWE wanna make Bayley look good going into an upcoming match with the EST of WWE?

WWE aired a tribute to Pat Patterson. Not gonna lie, that was a bittersweet video package.

Big E, Rey Mysterio And Daniel Bryan vs Sami Zayn, Dolph Ziggler And Shinsuke Nakamura.

The participants in this bout all involved former intercontinental champions with the exception of Sami who is the current IC champion (uh, no sh*t, Omar).

Big E got new theme music. He's the last person I expected to have new music but first impressions? It's aight.

By the way, Big E came out with the chalk which we haven't seen in 6 years?

They had a good old fashioned multi-man tag team match, Playas and you know what? It was pretty good.

The babyface team won thanks to an inside cradle by Daniel Bryan to Sami Zayn.

Post-match saw the good guys take out the bad guys for some reason.

Kevin Owens said in an interview with Kalya Braxton that Roman Reigns isn't the same guy but he was interrupted by Kalisto which I don't know if that spot is a work or not?

Carmella And Sasha Banks Video Confrontation.

Michael Cole asked Sasha Banks if she and Carmella are alike?

Banks with her signature laugh, said that Carmella wishes to be like the boss and the reason why Carmella hasn't faced Banks is that Carmella is out of the boss' league.

Carmella replied saying that while Sasha worked hard to hone her craft, Carmella showed up to the performance centre with half of the work better than Banks ever was.

The challenger of the women's title ended the segment basically telling Sasha Banks that she will take the title from Banks.

I thought Carmella came off pretty well in this and she held herself alongside the star that is Sasha Banks.

Murphy vs King Corbin.

By the way, nice to see Murphy bringing back his old ring attire for the second week in the row.

King Corbin showed up with Wesley Blake and Steve Cutler formerly part of the Forgotten Sons.

So, this is the closest thing to a Blake and Murphy reunion, right?

Oh, and King Corbin wins thanks to a distraction by Murphy after Blake and Cutler were attacking Rey and Dominik Mysterio.

The Street Profits, as well as Robert Roode and Cesaro, had a scuffle regarding the SmackDown tag team championship. Cool.

Kevin Owens And Otis vs Roman Reigns And Jey Uso.

Roman showed up to the match late because he operates at his time. Kinda reminds me of my uncle for some reason.

The match started off chaotic as f**k.

It ended with Roman Reigns locking in the guillotine despite the fact that Owens didn't tap out.

Huh? That was an odd finish.

Why can't Owens pin Jey Uso to make the guy look good going into a big title match at TLC?

WWE with their complicated a** booking again.

So, to recap for all of you slow mofos.

Like: The opening segment, Big E, Rey Mysterio And Daniel Bryan vs Sami Zayn, Dolph Ziggler And Shinsuke Nakamura, Carmella' promo in the video confrontation with Sasha Banks.

Didn't like: Bayley losing even though she has a program with Bianca Belair, how the main event tag team match ended.

AEW Dynamite Blood And Guts | A Coherent Review.

Another watchable episode of AEW Dynamite but this time, it features the first-ever Blood And Guts encounter. Kenny Omega And Michael Nakazawa vs Jon Moxley And Eddie Kingston.  Don Callis announced that Michael Nakazawa is going to face Mox and Kingston all by himself only for Kenny Omega to show up and compete in the match anyway.  A weird booking choice but I'm just nitpicking.  What wasn't weird was how the match ended with a double team dragon suplex into a clothesline from the duo of Mox and Kingston to Nakazawa.  Then, a beatdown ensued from Omega's Posse to Jonny Mox and Eddie Kingston. The Young Bucks vs Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston? I'm down.  It was revealed later in the night that a number one contenders match for the AEW championship is set up for next week's show between Orange Cassidy and Pac. I'm assuming AEW is saving the Hangman Page and Kenny Omega encounter for All Out?  Either way, AEW has the potential to tell an interesting story of ...

WWE RAW 5/10/20 | A Coherent Review.

I have not said this in a RAW review in a very long time but the show as a whole was straight up dogsh*t awful.  It's so bad that I didn't like one ounce about this program.  pictures via wwe.com Randy Orton Remembers His Match At Clash Of Champions.  The show started off with Randy Orton recalling certain aspects about the WWE championship match at Clash Of Champions.  Orton goes on to say that Drew doesn't deserve the championship because the legends interfered in the ambulance match.  The promo ended with Orton bringing up the fact that he beat up four legends last week on RAW (again, explain the physics behind this?).  Drew showed up and he laid waste on the guy.  Randy has been quite exceptional in the dialogue department but this ain't it.  The promo actually put me to sleep and the show didn't even hit 10 minutes up until that point.  If they suddenly end the rivalry like nothing happened, while it doesn't make sense, I'm all for it be...

WWE NXT UK Takeover: Cardiff | My Coherent Review.

via WWE I don't watch or review the first NXT UK Takeover for some odd reason but I'm so glad I did because that was like the main NXT Takeovers, was absolutely great to watch. I'm just speechless and if you have watched the show then you'll know why (also, if you somehow didn't watch this show, what are you doing? Go and treat yourself with some wrestling goodness.) Noam Dar vs Travis Banks.  A very enjoyable opening match. Noam Dar proves that he's great at what he does with so many submission holes because if you don't know, I'm a technical wrestling connoisseur. Noam Dar won the match with a standing shining wizard.  Cesaro vs Ilja Dragunov. Always great to see Cesaro do what he does best and that's a fight inside the square circle. So, Ilja called out Cesaro because Cesaro's looking for an open challenge and Cesaro obviously picked his challenger.  The Swiss Cyborg started off this match by throwing Dragunov to the outside ...
