The Late Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Did People Forgot There Was An NXT Episode?

The headline above has a point though. You guys forgot there was an NXT episode which by the way, was the go-home show for NXT Takeover: War Games.

So, it isn't a surprise that AEW Dynamite was The better show.

NXT

Highlights.

Pat McAfee Talks Some Sh*t About Everyone Including Undisputed Era.

I could hear this guy talk about how much of a loser I and the rest of the fans are for HOURS.

The reason being is that Pat makes simplistic sentences like "losers at the IWC" really charismatically funny.

I will go as far as to say that he is in the top 5 best talkers in professional wrestling.

All I'm saying is that McAfee is really damn good.

Some Other Things That Happened.

Boa And Xia Li Beg For Forgiveness Again - I'm intrigued as to who's the black-hooded person.

Legado De La Fantasma Lost To Leon Ruff And Damian Priest - Despite a bit of miscommunication, the champion and one of its challengers pulled off the win in a decent match.

Also,  there were guys with Ghostface masks that surrounded the crowd area. Will they interfere in the triple threat match?

I think so but will see what happens.

Cameron Grimes defeated August Grey - I mean, the dude has an upcoming match so why would he lose?

As he was attacking August Grey with the strap, out came Dexter Lumis and he gave Grimes the receipt before War Games.

Jake Atlas defeated Tony Nese - It was okay. It looks like Atlas is getting a shot at the cruiserweight championship based on his post-match promo (no sh*t, Omar).

Grizzled Young Veterans vs Imperium Ended For Some Reason - This was supposed to be GYV vs Ever-Rise but Imperium attacked Ever-Rise because they "requested" a shot at facing the Grizzled Young Veterans.

Both Zack Gibson and Fabian Aichner fell down on the outside and that's how the match ended.

I get that NXT wanted to continue this rivalry but that was a lame a** finish.

Timothy Thatcher Live Thatch Camp - A guy that feels like he loses all the time, has a lesson in his camp about distractions. Tommaso Ciampa showed up and they brawled. Cool.

Io Shirai Is The Four Member Of Shotzi's War Games Team - No surprise here. Oh, and Shotzi Blackheart wins the women's War Games advantage ladder match.

AEW

Highlights.

Sting Is Here.

Yes, the man that "does this and does that" makes his AEW debut as well as his return to TNT.

If AEW had a full crowd, the reaction alone would've been Attitude Era level hot.

Side note, hearing Tony Schiavone calling Sting's return was bittersweet.

AEW announced that he has signed a multi-year deal with the company which begs the question.

Is he going to wrestle? Because, right now, that's the million-dollar curiosity.

Do I want to see him wrestle? Probably not.

Why? Well, have you seen his match with Seth Rollins at Night Of Champions 2015?

Oh, and there was a tag team match between Cody Rhodes, Darby Allin and the FTW crew which was fine.

Chris Jericho Issued An Ultimatum.

Either Sammy Guevara and MJF get along or The Inner Circle is no more. This one has actual stakes and you know what? I like it.

However, Jericho's match with Frank Kazarian was sloppy and just not good.

Kenny Omega vs Jon Moxley For The AEW World Championship.

Does this match live up to the hype? F**k Yes!

This was the greatest ending to a wrestling show in quite some time.

Will Omega have a face to face confrontation with the Impact world champion, Rich Swann? (if that's the case, take my f'ing money).

Will Omega defend the AEW championship on an episode of Impact Wrestling?

Will they be a team AEW vs team Impact Wrestling match at Revolution?

A lot of intriguing questions are roaming around my head right now.

This is an exciting time to be a connoisseur of all things professional wrestling.

Some Other Things That Happened.

Orange Cassidy And MJF Win Diamond Ring Battle Royal - I'm curious as to what winning the diamond ring does to a competitor.

Does it lead to a title opportunity or something?

Better yet, why should I even care about this Diamond Ring ya know?

Britt Baker Defeated Leyla Hirsh - The bout was aight. Britt was then attacked by Thunder Rosa.

The question is, what are some of the highlights of both episodes in your opinion? Let me know in the comments below and follow me on Twitter @omartheplayaguy. Anyways, stay safe smarks.

WrestleFest DXB's Fahrenheit 971 | A Coherent W.

Being a fan of pro wrestling (or any other medium of entertainment) does have its pros and cons when engaging with the industry as a whole.  On one hand, you've witnessed an Eddie Kingston promo that'll make you tear up more than the opening scene of Up.  On the other hand, going to the wrestling subreddit will definitely have you questioning humanity as a whole and the fact that living in an area where a wrestling presence pretty much doesn't exist like a Vince Russo-written storyline that is, you know, GOOD!?  Luckily, the latter retracted my con as a fan because I'm talking about Wrestlefest DXB and their latest joint, "971 Fahrenheit".  Martin Bushby of now Post Wrestling Alumni brought the event to my attention because like a wrestler on an episode of RAW I get distracted all the time.  So, I decided to take a short journey to a taxi then a bus then a train then a 30-minute walk to the show itself and I know I'm going to sound biased as f**k but I l...

Let's Talk About The White Rabbit In The Room.

I haven't reviewed last year's show mainly because it was so good and clearly as extreme as any ECW match and I'm happy to tell all 3 of y'all that this one is better by several inches or so. Why? *slaps my bald head* HERE'S WHY. The opening match between Sheamus and Gunther's crew ruled harder than the Mongolian empire.  It was basically an enhanced version of Sheamus' match with Gunther last night on Smackdown and I loved it.  The Brawling Brutes' victory means one thing that is clearly obvious, a rematch between Sheamus and Gunther for the intercontinental championship aka the only series of rematches I don't mind.  Ronda Rousey and Liv Morgan delivered in what was a wrestling match equivalent to the X-Men Dark Phoenix movie.  While Bianca Belair and Bayley had their equivalent to the first Iron Man movie in that it was decent.  Drew McIntyre and Karrion Kross had an okay edition of the "Meaty men slapping meat".  That spear from Edge to...

A Few Thoughts On RAW And Smackdown: RAW wasn't GREAT!?

Since this blog will be less of a priority now considering I'm focusing on my podcast now (hit the 5 stars on Apple Podcast you sons of b*tches), I decided to share my few thoughts on RAW, Smackdown, I guess?  Smackdown.  The blue brand delivered yet another good episode this week and it's probably due to the fact that Braun Strowman taking out the Maximum Model is high-key funny as f**k.  The folks over at Titan Towers are bringing back the essence of their characters whether it's Kevin Owens, Shayna Baszler or in this case, Big Braun himself.   As a fan, you gotta love it, especially since in the case of Strowman, the dude hasn't been the same since he turned heel 4 years ago when feuding with Roman Reigns for the universal title.   Other noteworthy segments include Logan Paul challenging Roman Reigns for the big world universal multiverse galactic cinematic championship.  Imagine they pulled that match off 7 years ago back when Logan was on V...
