WWE Smackdown 25/9/20 | A Coherent Review.

Sorry for missing The RAW Review and The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays.

Long story short, I had to deal with family shenanigans.

But, you ain't here to read my apologies, do ya?

You're here for THE coherent review for the blue show and my overall thoughts?

It was decent. At least I wasn't bored watching and yawning throughout most of the show (I'm talking to you Monday Night RAW).

AJ Styles, Jeff Hardy And Sami Zayn Face To Face Confrontation.

We're kicking this off with the Intercontinental championship side of things.

Pretty much, all three men state their case as to why they will walk out of Clash Of Champions as THE undisputed Intercontinental champion.

This ain't a face to face confrontation without a brawl, right? Zayn attacked both men with a ladder.

As a consequence of that action, Zayn will face Jeff Hardy and AJ Styles, making the opening match a triple threat bout.

AJ Styles vs Jeff Hardy vs Sami Zayn.

This is WWE Smackdown vs RAW GM mode booking in the sense that both rivals have to face each other before their upcoming match at a PPV.

They essentially gave one of the matches at Clash Of Champions on free television.

The difference is that it's obviously not for the championship.

An over-complicated type of writing to start off this program.

Like, why can't it instead be a Sami Zayn vs Jeff Hardy or AJ Styles or Jeff Hardy vs AJ Styles?

Rant aside, the match was decent.

After Styles hit the phenomenal forearm on Jeff Hardy, Zayn steals the victory to win the match.

Styles then stood tall by beating up Zayn and Hardy.

That booking decision kind of derailed my excitement for this ladder match, not gonna lie.

In a backstage segment, Tucker Knight brought up the point to The Miz and John Morrison that only Miz's name was on the lawsuit.

But, Otis attacked Morrison anyways. Cool

(for those who are new, when I say "cool", it basically tells you sarcastically that I don't care about this feud.

Just wanna put that out there).

Bayley's Calls Sasha Banks Useless Among Other Things.

Exactly, the title above.

Bayley wanted to make Nikki Cross think about why Sasha isn't on Bayley's corner and how she'll slap the stupid smile out of Nikki's face this coming Sunday.

The champ blended two different superstars in one good promo.

Bayley's heel run is at its peak and it actually made me look forward to a match that I've seen billions of times.

It goes to show you how a cohesive structure goes a long way.

Take notes, Monday Nights.

Shinsuke Nakamura vs Gran Metalik.

The match was aight. Nakamura picked up the W with the Kinshasa meanwhile, Kalisto didn't go out and help his Lucha buddies.

Because of it, Kalisto was pushed by Lince Dorado. I hate this.

STOP BREAKING UP TAG TEAMS. YOU BARELY GOT ANY TEAMS BRUH!

Uce vs Uce, Cuz vs Cuz, Family vs Family vs Family and Uso vs Reigns For The Universal Championship.

Jey Uso frustratedly questioned Reigns' mean expression on him last week.

Jey demanded answers and he got a speech from Reigns' manager Paul Heyman about how Jey ain't getting an answer.

However, Jey is positive enough that he will win the Universal championship.

Scroll down at the end to read my thoughts on it.

Matt Riddle vs King Corbin.

The match itself was fine. Corbin won the match with the end of days.

Riddle then wanted to say that Smackdown is still the bro show. Cool.

Alexa Bliss vs Lacey Evans.

Did Bliss basically call Lacey Evans a Karen based on her pre-match promo?

The bout was somehow actually good.

During the match, Bray Wyatt's laugh was playing in the background and Bliss stood in the ring confused.

More confusion started to creep in as the red lights were on and Bliss got herself disqualified due to her repeated attack using the ropes.

Alexa's acting is on point.

As Roman Reigns walked out to the ring, Bliss stared at Roman for like a minute.

Jey Uso interrupted Paul Heyman's promo demanding answers.

Roman gave Jey some tough love saying that Jey doesn't know what it takes to be THE champion and has always depended on his bro Jimmy.

Jey Uso disagreed telling Roman Reigns that he will be known as the guy that defeated the Uce for the championship.

But, Jey ate a superman punch from the big dog to end this week's episode of Smackdown.

I'll tell ya, this storyline is so good. Jey Uso and Roman Reigns did an exceptional job on the dialogue side ALONE.

This wasn't a beatdown like I expected it was but I'll take it.

So, to recap for all of you slow mofos.

Like: The ending, Alexa Bliss being controlled by The Fiend, Bayley's promo, Alexa Bliss vs Lacey Evans.

Didn't like: How WWE gave away one of their PPV matches, Lucha House Party slipping and why it's bad for the division.

WWE Smackdown Season Premiere | A Coherent Review.

It is the season premiere of Friday night Smackdown even though WWE doesn't have an offseason.  Nevertheless, it was a decent program and had a WAY better ending than whatever the hell of an ending last year's premiere of Friday night Smackdown showed.  There isn't a women's match this week and all of the AEW fanboys are looking at this like, "sEe, WWE dOeSn't feATuRe wOmeN'S mAtChEs aLsO."  pictures via WWE.com The Season Premiere Of Smackdown 2020.  The show started off with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon highlighting the scheduled matches for Smackdown as well as the superstars.  Chaos then ensued thanks to a huge brawl. Then, the "super freak" Lars Sullivan came out and delivered the freak accident to Shorty G.  Somehow, Jeff Hardy attacked him and that led to the opening match of the night between Lars and Jeff.  You know, I'm kind of surprised that two white people in McMahon and Hemsley knew who Rick James is.  Maybe I'm igno...

The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Fyter Fest 2020 Came Back Swinging?

Last week, on this very series, I said that I enjoyed Great American Bash better than Fyter Fest.  Well, this week is the exact opposite. AEW came in swinging with night 2 Fyter Fest.  I've not liked a Dynamite episode in several weeks so it's nice to see that the show finally executed a great show since God knows how long.   NXT      Highlights (at least in my opinion because wrestling is subjective).  Mia Yim vs Candice LeRae In A Street Fight. The match went underway after Yim quickly attacked Candice LeRae during LeRae's entrance.  In the crowd area, Candice tried to nail the suplex on the table but Yim got out of that position and kicked her to which she landed through the table.  The Streetfight concluded with LeRae striking Yim with the brass knuckles followed by a swinging neck from the top of the table onto a bunch of chairs and that's how LeRae defeats the HBIC.  A fun opening match even though...

THE Coherent AEW Take: Christian Dior, Dior. Eddie Kingston up in all the stores!

Ever since AEW Dynamite was on Saturday night for a bit, I've been WAY behind on AEW content so excuse my ignorance. And It's Full Gear weekend which means another PPV that would last longer than the Snyder cut.  Sheeit, I'll bet the collar and elbow hold alone from the Hangman Page and Kenny Omega championship match, is longer than the entire Queen's Crown tournament.  As far as how I feel about both programs this week, well.  They did an okay job on building towards the final AEW PPV of the year this Saturday. Rampage.   Highlights.  Bryan Danielson vs Anthony Bowens.  And no, the highlight doesn't include Max Caster's verses. I'll rather listen to f**king Riff Raff than Max Caster's dig on anything.  The worst part, people are probably going to look at this and say, "can't wait for a Max Caster's appearance on Wild 'N Out!"  With that being said, this opening match was good. Danielson wins with the rebel lock.  Eddie Kingston (wi...
