The 5 News Week: An Update Regarding Kairi Sane Coming Back To Japan, Extreme Rules Quick Predictions.

Hello, my fellow wrestling fans and welcome to the 5 news week. The post where I report 5 major or minor news of the week that I don't have time to do it separately. Without further ado, here are the 5 news week.

An Update Regarding Kairi Sane Coming Back To Japan.

There were reported stories about Kairi Sane going back to Japan whether it's serving as a WWE ambassador in Japan according to Fightful select (because the company wants to open an NXT performance centre over there).

Or planning to stay with WWE for another year or so until she retires and goes back to Japan and be with her husband essentially according to Alex McCarthy of TalkSport.

Or as Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter believes, Sane wants to leave the company once her contract expires.

And now, a reputable site has a say in this story. Tokyo Sports stated that Kairi Sane is going to return to her home country but the news will be announced around SummerSlam time (based on Google Translate):

Although I don't yet know what shape to choose, it seems that there will be some announcement by the summer festival "Summer Slam" (August 23). WWE Japan said, "We have not received any information here."

Should be interesting

Let's Talk About The #NaomiDeservesBetter.

Two weeks ago on this very series, I just ranted about Naomi being one of the most underutilized performers in the history of that company and then we got this hashtag trending. Coincidence?

After this week's episode of Smackdown hit the archives, fans have been vocal about how Naomi has been written on television, hence the hashtag "#NaomiDeservesBetter".

It was so popular that you had Akeelah and the Bee herself, Keke Palmer tweeting out that she would love to play Naomi in a movie.

I'm going to post what I said a few weeks ago because it bears repeating:

"Naomi's current utilization in WWE scratches my head. Her return at this year's Royal Rumble was so popular that it had Black Twitter talking.

There was even a non-wrestling fan that made a Naomi artwork because of what that person saw.

That right there is the power of representation in media and the fact that WWE didn't keep the water boiling speaks volumes.

Because of it, it actually turned out to be one of the most missed booking opportunities in recent memory. Rant over."

The Horror Show At Extreme Rules Quick Predictions.

WWE Extreme Rules 2020: Matches, date, start time, when & where to ...

Since this was a bit of a slow news week, I thought it would be appropriate to list off some quick predictions for The Horror Show At Extreme Rules. My predictions are highlighted in bold letters (Side note, Asuka and Sasha Banks will be a fun watch):

Braun Strowman vs "The Eater Of Worlds" Bray Wyatt In A Swamp Fight.

Asuka vs Sasha Banks For The RAW Women's Championship.

Bayley vs Nikki Cross For The Smackdown Women's Championship.

Drew McIntyre vs Dolph Ziggler For The WWE Championship.

The New Day vs Cesaro And Shinsuke Nakamura In A Tables Match.

Apollo Crews vs MVP For The United States Championship.

Rey Mysterio vs Seth Rollins In An Eye For An Eye Match (Other than the Asuka vs Sasha Banks match, this one is a bout I'm looking forward to).

Vanessa Bourne Was Called Up To The Main Roster Back In February!?

WWE Photo

Vanessa Bourne. Former Mae Young Classic competitor as well as a current NXT superstar at least up in till February or January of this year.

In other words, she was moved up to WWE's main shows according to Fightful select and Sean Ross Sapp (from their article). Here's more on the story:

"Borne has been awaiting her debut, but moved, and hasn't been flown back in regularly since then. Borne's situation was compared to that of Riddick Moss, who had a deal coming up, and then was promoted to the main roster upon resigning."

"Since all this has unfolded, there have been major shifts in WWE, and we aren't sure of her status as of now or where she was to land."

She was supposed to debut on either RAW or Smackdown before the pandemic. That really sucks.

I feel like Bourne has the potential to be a great antagonist for an upcoming babyface if the powers that be play their cards right. Here's hoping that she's actually featured on TV.

MVP On Wanting To Build A Stable.

Montel Von Porter recently had an interview with the aforementioned TalkSport and during the discussion, he expressed on wanting to build a stable:

"Absolutely. It’s something I’ve been discussing and let’s see how things go… let’s just say there’s method to my madness! I think everyone will be pleasantly surprised if I can take this… just watch me work! I’ll leave it at that – watch me work.”

I think it can work. I felt for a very long time that MVP is mad underrated in terms of his mic skills and I'm glad that most fans are recognizing his great work as a mouthpiece.

What do you think about the news I just reported and follow me on the tweets @omartheplayaguy. Anyways, stay safe smarks.

WWE Smackdown Season Premiere | A Coherent Review.

It is the season premiere of Friday night Smackdown even though WWE doesn't have an offseason.  Nevertheless, it was a decent program and had a WAY better ending than whatever the hell of an ending last year's premiere of Friday night Smackdown showed.  There isn't a women's match this week and all of the AEW fanboys are looking at this like, "sEe, WWE dOeSn't feATuRe wOmeN'S mAtChEs aLsO."  pictures via WWE.com The Season Premiere Of Smackdown 2020.  The show started off with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon highlighting the scheduled matches for Smackdown as well as the superstars.  Chaos then ensued thanks to a huge brawl. Then, the "super freak" Lars Sullivan came out and delivered the freak accident to Shorty G.  Somehow, Jeff Hardy attacked him and that led to the opening match of the night between Lars and Jeff.  You know, I'm kind of surprised that two white people in McMahon and Hemsley knew who Rick James is.  Maybe I'm igno...

The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Fyter Fest 2020 Came Back Swinging?

Last week, on this very series, I said that I enjoyed Great American Bash better than Fyter Fest.  Well, this week is the exact opposite. AEW came in swinging with night 2 Fyter Fest.  I've not liked a Dynamite episode in several weeks so it's nice to see that the show finally executed a great show since God knows how long.   NXT      Highlights (at least in my opinion because wrestling is subjective).  Mia Yim vs Candice LeRae In A Street Fight. The match went underway after Yim quickly attacked Candice LeRae during LeRae's entrance.  In the crowd area, Candice tried to nail the suplex on the table but Yim got out of that position and kicked her to which she landed through the table.  The Streetfight concluded with LeRae striking Yim with the brass knuckles followed by a swinging neck from the top of the table onto a bunch of chairs and that's how LeRae defeats the HBIC.  A fun opening match even though...

THE Coherent AEW Take: Christian Dior, Dior. Eddie Kingston up in all the stores!

Ever since AEW Dynamite was on Saturday night for a bit, I've been WAY behind on AEW content so excuse my ignorance. And It's Full Gear weekend which means another PPV that would last longer than the Snyder cut.  Sheeit, I'll bet the collar and elbow hold alone from the Hangman Page and Kenny Omega championship match, is longer than the entire Queen's Crown tournament.  As far as how I feel about both programs this week, well.  They did an okay job on building towards the final AEW PPV of the year this Saturday. Rampage.   Highlights.  Bryan Danielson vs Anthony Bowens.  And no, the highlight doesn't include Max Caster's verses. I'll rather listen to f**king Riff Raff than Max Caster's dig on anything.  The worst part, people are probably going to look at this and say, "can't wait for a Max Caster's appearance on Wild 'N Out!"  With that being said, this opening match was good. Danielson wins with the rebel lock.  Eddie Kingston (wi...
