WWE Smackdown 29/5/20 | A Coherent Review.

Other than the opening act, I thought this was a good effort from the blue brand once again.

One other thing that bothered me about this episode was that it lacked some continuation for the universal championship feud other than a highlight clip but I'm just nitpicking.

A Car Accident Happened!?

WWE Photo

The episode started off with a car accident that got Elias badly hurt and Braun Strowman watching all of this unfold, telling Kalya Braxton that he hopes that somebody catches that SOB that did this.

The person that was also hurt and was behind was Jeff Hardy and it involved some alcohol in his system. Because of it, Hardy was arrested and taken to a local police station for further investigation.

WWE Photo

That was my biggest fear for the drinking Hangman Page persona and now, it is Jeff Hardy's story you know, the same guy that had ACTUAL DRUG AND ALCOHOL PROBLEMS IN THE PAST!?

This is so wrong in so many ways. Turning someone's personal demons into a storyline is not shocking coming from this company, and disgusting. I know some of you might say, "wEll, tHiS iS THe cLosSeT tHIng tO tHe aTTiTuDe eRa? DOn'tchA LIKe tHe aTTituDe eRa?" I don't like that era of wrestling generally speaking and I don't like this storyline at all.

10 Man Battle Royal. Winner Faces Daniel Bryan In The Semi-Finals Intercontinental Championship Tournament.

WWE Photo

Jeff Hardy and Elias are taken out of the tournament and the entire locker room were arguing on who deserves the opportunity to be in the semi-finals?

So, WWE producer Adam Pearce made a battle royal match with the victor faces Daniel Bryan in the semi-finals intercontinental championship tournament.

After Chad Gable was screwed in the match by Cesaro, it was then down to two finalists in this bout.

WWE Photo

They were Jey Uso and Sheamus. This wasn't shocking considering that Jey is a tag team wrestler. Sheamus wins this Battle Royal and will face Bryan in the finals.

Speaking of Gable and Cesaro, a match was made between those two later that night. I'm still calling him Chad Gable or Shorty G interchangeably because I can.

Sonya Deville vs Lacey Evans.

WWE Photo

Is Deville going to defeat another blonde? Well, no because the match ended with a double countout while both women were brawling in ringside.

It looks like we're going to witness a Deville and Evans feud and honestly, I'm intrigued. This could be an enjoyable feud if done correctly.

The Moment Of Bliss. Special Guests, The New Day.

Both of those teams were complimenting each other, exchanging gifts but that all changed once Bayley and Sasha Banks made their presence in the ring.

They told the women's tag champs that if it wasn't for Banks and Bayley, the titles wouldn't be a thing.

Bayley wanted her best friend to face Bliss in a match and Bliss with no hesitation, accepted.

The banter with Nikki Cross and Bayley on commentary was fun and so was this match between Alexa and Sasha. Sasha pulled out the W thanks to Bayley with a modified sunset flip from the ring apron.

Despite their reported real-life history together, both Banks and Bliss always deliver a solid match. Also, appreciate the armbands from Kofi and Big E.

Shorty G vs Cesaro.

Cesaro at one point, nailed a nasty looking clothesline. Another devastating move delivered by the Swiss Cyborg was a jack-knife powerbomb.

WWE Photo

Cesaro was looking for another bomb but Gable turned it into a sunset flip pin and won this match. A short (ha, get it?) but good bout.

Otis and Mandy Rose were having a good time in the pool area. Meanwhile, Kurt Angle announced that Matt Riddle is coming to Friday Nights.

Riddle's stepping into a different world now and it'll be interesting regarding how they write this guy.

Daniel Bryan vs Sheamus. Intercontinental Championship Tournament Semi-Finals.

WWE Photo

I remember their matches whether it's for the United States championship and the World Heavyweight championship the PPV after Wrestlemania 28 and they were good so it's no surprise that this latest encounter between those two men is no exception.

At the end of the match, Jeff Hardy showed up to ringside as if nothing happened and that distracted Sheamus which led to a running knee from Daniel Bryan on Sheamus and the Yes man is going to the finals.

WWE Photo

Hardy was trying to chase Sheamus but the Celtic Warrior quickly ran near the stage area and that's how the episode ended.

I was happy that Sheamus is finally in a program and it's with Jeff Hardy but the opening segment gave me an awful taste in my mouth that it actually ruined the bits of enthusiasm I had for this feud.

So, to recap for all of you slow mofos.

Like: Daniel Bryan vs Sheamus, Sasha Banks vs Alexa Bliss and the banter on commentary between Nikki Gable vs Cesaro

Didn't like: The opening act and using Jeff's real-life struggles as a storyline, the lack of continuation of the universal championship this week.

WWE Smackdown Season Premiere | A Coherent Review.

It is the season premiere of Friday night Smackdown even though WWE doesn't have an offseason.  Nevertheless, it was a decent program and had a WAY better ending than whatever the hell of an ending last year's premiere of Friday night Smackdown showed.  There isn't a women's match this week and all of the AEW fanboys are looking at this like, "sEe, WWE dOeSn't feATuRe wOmeN'S mAtChEs aLsO."  pictures via WWE.com The Season Premiere Of Smackdown 2020.  The show started off with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon highlighting the scheduled matches for Smackdown as well as the superstars.  Chaos then ensued thanks to a huge brawl. Then, the "super freak" Lars Sullivan came out and delivered the freak accident to Shorty G.  Somehow, Jeff Hardy attacked him and that led to the opening match of the night between Lars and Jeff.  You know, I'm kind of surprised that two white people in McMahon and Hemsley knew who Rick James is.  Maybe I'm igno...

The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Fyter Fest 2020 Came Back Swinging?

Last week, on this very series, I said that I enjoyed Great American Bash better than Fyter Fest.  Well, this week is the exact opposite. AEW came in swinging with night 2 Fyter Fest.  I've not liked a Dynamite episode in several weeks so it's nice to see that the show finally executed a great show since God knows how long.   NXT      Highlights (at least in my opinion because wrestling is subjective).  Mia Yim vs Candice LeRae In A Street Fight. The match went underway after Yim quickly attacked Candice LeRae during LeRae's entrance.  In the crowd area, Candice tried to nail the suplex on the table but Yim got out of that position and kicked her to which she landed through the table.  The Streetfight concluded with LeRae striking Yim with the brass knuckles followed by a swinging neck from the top of the table onto a bunch of chairs and that's how LeRae defeats the HBIC.  A fun opening match even though...

THE Coherent AEW Take: Christian Dior, Dior. Eddie Kingston up in all the stores!

Ever since AEW Dynamite was on Saturday night for a bit, I've been WAY behind on AEW content so excuse my ignorance. And It's Full Gear weekend which means another PPV that would last longer than the Snyder cut.  Sheeit, I'll bet the collar and elbow hold alone from the Hangman Page and Kenny Omega championship match, is longer than the entire Queen's Crown tournament.  As far as how I feel about both programs this week, well.  They did an okay job on building towards the final AEW PPV of the year this Saturday. Rampage.   Highlights.  Bryan Danielson vs Anthony Bowens.  And no, the highlight doesn't include Max Caster's verses. I'll rather listen to f**king Riff Raff than Max Caster's dig on anything.  The worst part, people are probably going to look at this and say, "can't wait for a Max Caster's appearance on Wild 'N Out!"  With that being said, this opening match was good. Danielson wins with the rebel lock.  Eddie Kingston (wi...
