WWE Smackdown 3/4/20 | A Coherent Review.

I made fun of the blue brand for months on end for being the current face of the word "mediocrity" but as of late, Smackdown has been doing an excellent job on building tomorrow's most anticipated show, Wrestlemania. Awesome job, Smackdown.

Miz TV. Special Guest, The Usos?

WWE Photo

The Usos showed up before the host did to state their reasons why they'll climb the ladder and win the SmackDown tag team championship.

The New Day disagreed as they believed that they will capture the tag team championship of the world to which Usos and New Day teased a brawl between each other.

WWE Photo

The Miz and John Morrison basically were baffled at the idea that they might lose the belts which led to a bit of shenanigans between all three teams.

Not the best way to produce the final segment before the upcoming tag team title match but it wasn't offensive so there's that.

Naomi vs Tamina vs Lacey Evans.

WWE Photo

After Tamina takes the W with a superkick on Naomi, Tamina attacked Bayley and Banks tried to do the "Team BAD" pose but Tamina put her down with the Samoan drop. Cool.

This week's old match on WWE programming is Ric Flair's "retirement" match and I got you guys covered because I wrote a piece about this entire match last year so click here to read the whole thing (spoilers, it's my all-time favourite professional wrestling match).

The reports were true, Goldberg will indeed face Braun Strowman for the Universal championship and Strowman is definitely losing this one. So much for Triple H's saying that Roman Reigns will be removed "in a unique way". The most anticlimactic announcement I've ever seen.

Tucker Knight vs Dolph Ziggler.

WWE Photo

Wait, wait? Tucker's last name was removed. Where was I all day? Also, Otis left Tucker without him by Tucker's side due to a text he got assuming from Mandy Rose. The match ended in a DQ due to a zig-zag on the steel steps. Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville came out to stop Ziggler from an additional beating to Tucker.

Otis ran to the outside to check on his friend but a mysterious hacker (the man behind the flashing bright rounded rings lights *coughed once* Mustafa Ali) showed the world what really happened in the titantron. Turns out that Mandy's friend, Sonya was behind the texts as well as convincing Dolph to see Mandy Rose. Rose was, of course, angry about this.

What's Deville's motivations? Why did Dolph agree to this in the first place? What really happened in Valentine's Day Date scene with Rose and Ziggler?

So many questions that intrigue me to witness next week's episode. Why can't WWE produce more side stories for the lower midcard like this? That entire saga is amazing and will continue to be amazing at least I hope.

Daniel Bryan vs Shinsuke Nakamura.

WWE Photo

A dream match that just happened in an empty area. That, among other important things, proves that 2020 simply sucks. I will say that this match was fun. It would've been an all-time classic if given more time (no sh*t, Omar).

The match ended in a DQ because of a stomp by Cesaro leading to an over the head suplexes on both Gulak and Bryan. I personally can't wait for the IC title match so it should be an entertaining one.

John Cena Addresses Wyatt's Match Challenge To A Firefly Funhouse.

WWE Photo

John Cena accepts Bray Wyatt's match stipulation, telling his mania opponent that Goldberg exposed Bray Wyatt's weakness and Cena will do the same in Bray's backyard or in this case, his funhouse because Bray's below Cena.

All of Bray's puppet minions surrounded the ring and showed up one by one including The Fiend himself. Bray Wyatt whispered "let me in" in John Cena's ear and Wyatt disappeared immediately.

I loved how Cena brought up The Fiend's loss to Goldberg at Super showdown and how he shows how weak Bray Wyatt is according to the 16-time world champion so Bray has to prove Cena wrong which should be the outcome at Wrestlemania.

So, to recap for all of you slow mofos.

Like: The ending, biased but the Ric Flair vs Shawn Michaels match, the twist at the end of Dolph Ziggler and Tucker's match, Daniel Bryan vs Shinsuke Nakamura.

Didn't like: How WWE announced the Universal title match between Goldberg and Braun Strowman.

Don't forget, The latest instalment of The 5 News Week will be up later today. I've already written the article yesterday and I just need to check any updates so that I'll add them in the piece.

WWE Smackdown Season Premiere | A Coherent Review.

It is the season premiere of Friday night Smackdown even though WWE doesn't have an offseason.  Nevertheless, it was a decent program and had a WAY better ending than whatever the hell of an ending last year's premiere of Friday night Smackdown showed.  There isn't a women's match this week and all of the AEW fanboys are looking at this like, "sEe, WWE dOeSn't feATuRe wOmeN'S mAtChEs aLsO."  pictures via WWE.com The Season Premiere Of Smackdown 2020.  The show started off with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon highlighting the scheduled matches for Smackdown as well as the superstars.  Chaos then ensued thanks to a huge brawl. Then, the "super freak" Lars Sullivan came out and delivered the freak accident to Shorty G.  Somehow, Jeff Hardy attacked him and that led to the opening match of the night between Lars and Jeff.  You know, I'm kind of surprised that two white people in McMahon and Hemsley knew who Rick James is.  Maybe I'm igno...

The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Fyter Fest 2020 Came Back Swinging?

Last week, on this very series, I said that I enjoyed Great American Bash better than Fyter Fest.  Well, this week is the exact opposite. AEW came in swinging with night 2 Fyter Fest.  I've not liked a Dynamite episode in several weeks so it's nice to see that the show finally executed a great show since God knows how long.   NXT      Highlights (at least in my opinion because wrestling is subjective).  Mia Yim vs Candice LeRae In A Street Fight. The match went underway after Yim quickly attacked Candice LeRae during LeRae's entrance.  In the crowd area, Candice tried to nail the suplex on the table but Yim got out of that position and kicked her to which she landed through the table.  The Streetfight concluded with LeRae striking Yim with the brass knuckles followed by a swinging neck from the top of the table onto a bunch of chairs and that's how LeRae defeats the HBIC.  A fun opening match even though...

THE Coherent AEW Take: Christian Dior, Dior. Eddie Kingston up in all the stores!

Ever since AEW Dynamite was on Saturday night for a bit, I've been WAY behind on AEW content so excuse my ignorance. And It's Full Gear weekend which means another PPV that would last longer than the Snyder cut.  Sheeit, I'll bet the collar and elbow hold alone from the Hangman Page and Kenny Omega championship match, is longer than the entire Queen's Crown tournament.  As far as how I feel about both programs this week, well.  They did an okay job on building towards the final AEW PPV of the year this Saturday. Rampage.   Highlights.  Bryan Danielson vs Anthony Bowens.  And no, the highlight doesn't include Max Caster's verses. I'll rather listen to f**king Riff Raff than Max Caster's dig on anything.  The worst part, people are probably going to look at this and say, "can't wait for a Max Caster's appearance on Wild 'N Out!"  With that being said, this opening match was good. Danielson wins with the rebel lock.  Eddie Kingston (wi...
