My Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Johnny Gargano And Tommaso Ciampa Fought For Their Lives, A Decent Build For AEW Blood And Guts.

I'm back on my BS here to give you my thoughts on NXT and AEW Dynamite. The yellow brand picks up a better show this week after a streak of great shows from Dynamite which is no knock for AEW. This week's show was actually decent (and yes, I didn’t review the Revolution PPV  but spoilers, it’s a good show).

NXT

Highlights.

Keith Lee vs Cameron Grimes For The North American Championship.

I would've saved this match for Takeover: Tampa considering that it’s a mark key match and it was blotted with commercial breaks at least in my humble opinion but I'm just nitpicking. A good bout in my opinion.

Grimes tried to execute a German suplex but Lee's strength was too much for Grimes to carry. Speaking of carrying, Lee carries Grimes and turns it into a modified jackhammer to retain the title.

After the match, Damian Priest attacked Lee from behind to which Dominic Djakovic came to the rescue and Lee immediately made the conclusion that Djakovic attacked him by delivering a powerbomb on Djakovic.

While it was an accident, Keith now brought the fight to himself against Damian Priest and now, the Croatian destroyer, Dominic Djakovic.

Johnny Gargano And Tommaso Ciampa Fought For Their Lives.

It was brutal, to say the least. Ciampa found where Gargano was while Gargano was talking about why he cost Ciampa the NXT title victory in Takeover: Portland.

Their brawl trashed the creative office over at the performance centre as well as the gym area which the psycho killer destroyed the mirror glass.

That fight reached all the way on top of the crowd area and Ciampa nailed the white noise to Gargano that landed down through the announce table. I'm not feeling Gargano as a heel.

He just doesn't have the finesse to pull that off. The brawl was fun though I mean, come on. That announce table spot is a highlight waiting to be put in a promotional video.

Some Other Things That Happened.

Mia Yim And Tegan Nox Advances In The Number One Contender's Ladder Match For The NXT Women’s Championship At Takeover: Tampa - Yim wins with the protect ya neck and then, Raquel Gonzalez attacked Yim.

As far as how Nox won the match. She faced Dennna and won it with the shiniest wizard.

A Strange Yet Intriguing Vignette - I don't know what that means with that TV and the whole quick shots of an Internet article and some world events. Some might say it's for the debuting Scarlett Bordeaux but like the title, it is intriguing.

Kushida vs Raul Mendoza - Kushida takes the W with an armbar from the top rope. Mendoza, by the way, was kidnapped by two guys with a Lucha mask. Don’t know where that leads but should be good I hope.

Rhea Ripley Says That She'll Kick Charlotte's Royal Ass - Both Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair said that they'll win for instance, how Charlotte told Ripley that she'll drown the fastest, rising star in NXT.

They then brawled which led to a figure four lock on Ripley using the ring post. It was aight.

Undisputed Era vs The Broserweights For The NXT Tag Team Championship - A rematch from Takeover: Portland and it was okay. The Grizzled Young Veterans showed up to distract the broserweights but that failed because they retained the tag teams with a double team kick on Kyle O'Reilly.

AEW

Highlights.

Cody vs Ortiz.

During the match, Jake "The Snake" Roberts showed up along with Lance Archer in the crowd area however, the duo then left thanks to Roberts telling Lance something in his ear before Cody delivered a reverse suplex on the stage floor to Ortiz.

The match ended with the second figure four I've seen that Wednesday night this time executed by Cody and that's how the American nightmare won the match.

Santana attacked Cody and the rest of the elite guys helped Cody. The leader of the Inner Circle, Chris Jericho told the elite guys that Nick Jackson, unfortunately, had a headache aka a vicious attack with the gate door.

The medical team then assisted Nick and put him in the ambulance. A fun opening match. That beating from Nick looked brutal though. He sold it like a champ.

Britt Baker Finds Nothing Special In The State Of Utah.

The doctor gave Tony Schiavone his favourite coffee and proceeded to insult the Salt Lake City crowd for their oral health.

Baker then elaborated saying that she wants to be a role model for the fans. Big Swole showed up and she like the crowd, is tired of Baker running her mouth.

Baker told Swole that the only person in Swole's household that everyone's care about is her "boyfriend". Swole then replied, "I'm married bay-bay" (time for some cease and desist letters?) to which Baker poured Tony's coffee on Swole's face.

This entire segment was great. Britt Baker is now in a rivalry like finally! Big Swole is really coming to her own as a babyface. I wanna see more of Swole and hopefully, in the championship scene.

Some Other Things That Happened.

Bea Priestley And Nyla Rose vs Kris Statlander And Hikaru Shida - Not gonna lie, this was a dull match and not even a decent showcase for the women's side of AEW even though the company are making baby steps in improvement for the division.

The heel team won the match with a sitout powerbomb from Nyla Rose to Hikaru Shida to which Bea Priestley attacked the champion. Cool.

A Parody Of The Dark Order Courtesy Of Christopher Daniels - Not bad. Not bad at all. It is funny that Christopher Daniels is mocking a higher power role that he was supposed to play as.

MJF, The Butcher And The Blade vs The Jurassic Express - There's one creative spot where MJF locked in the deathlock while he was holding the BB with both hands. The bad guys won with an armbar from MJF.

The Death Triangle aka Pac And The Lucha Brothers vs Private Party And Joey Genala - A decent tag team match actually. After the Death Triangle wins with a black arrow from Pac to Joey Genala, they locked in a double submission on both Private Party members but Isiah Cassidy and Mark Quen got some help from Best Friends.

Hangman Adam Page And Dustin Rhodes vs Chris Jericho And Sammy Guevara - After Page led his team to victory with a clothesline to Guvera, Dustin and Page took a beating from the rest of Inner Circle. The Elite guys showed up to help the beaten down Page and Dustin but the Inner got the upper hand thanks to Jake Hager.

A meh main event and an ending that did its job on building the upcoming match at AEW Blood And Guts.

The question is, what are some of the highlights on both episodes in your opinion? Let me know in the comments below and follow me on Twitter @omartheplayaguy. Anyways, stay safe smarks.

WWE Smackdown Season Premiere | A Coherent Review.

It is the season premiere of Friday night Smackdown even though WWE doesn't have an offseason.  Nevertheless, it was a decent program and had a WAY better ending than whatever the hell of an ending last year's premiere of Friday night Smackdown showed.  There isn't a women's match this week and all of the AEW fanboys are looking at this like, "sEe, WWE dOeSn't feATuRe wOmeN'S mAtChEs aLsO."  pictures via WWE.com The Season Premiere Of Smackdown 2020.  The show started off with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon highlighting the scheduled matches for Smackdown as well as the superstars.  Chaos then ensued thanks to a huge brawl. Then, the "super freak" Lars Sullivan came out and delivered the freak accident to Shorty G.  Somehow, Jeff Hardy attacked him and that led to the opening match of the night between Lars and Jeff.  You know, I'm kind of surprised that two white people in McMahon and Hemsley knew who Rick James is.  Maybe I'm igno...

The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Fyter Fest 2020 Came Back Swinging?

Last week, on this very series, I said that I enjoyed Great American Bash better than Fyter Fest.  Well, this week is the exact opposite. AEW came in swinging with night 2 Fyter Fest.  I've not liked a Dynamite episode in several weeks so it's nice to see that the show finally executed a great show since God knows how long.   NXT      Highlights (at least in my opinion because wrestling is subjective).  Mia Yim vs Candice LeRae In A Street Fight. The match went underway after Yim quickly attacked Candice LeRae during LeRae's entrance.  In the crowd area, Candice tried to nail the suplex on the table but Yim got out of that position and kicked her to which she landed through the table.  The Streetfight concluded with LeRae striking Yim with the brass knuckles followed by a swinging neck from the top of the table onto a bunch of chairs and that's how LeRae defeats the HBIC.  A fun opening match even though...

THE Coherent AEW Take: Christian Dior, Dior. Eddie Kingston up in all the stores!

Ever since AEW Dynamite was on Saturday night for a bit, I've been WAY behind on AEW content so excuse my ignorance. And It's Full Gear weekend which means another PPV that would last longer than the Snyder cut.  Sheeit, I'll bet the collar and elbow hold alone from the Hangman Page and Kenny Omega championship match, is longer than the entire Queen's Crown tournament.  As far as how I feel about both programs this week, well.  They did an okay job on building towards the final AEW PPV of the year this Saturday. Rampage.   Highlights.  Bryan Danielson vs Anthony Bowens.  And no, the highlight doesn't include Max Caster's verses. I'll rather listen to f**king Riff Raff than Max Caster's dig on anything.  The worst part, people are probably going to look at this and say, "can't wait for a Max Caster's appearance on Wild 'N Out!"  With that being said, this opening match was good. Danielson wins with the rebel lock.  Eddie Kingston (wi...
