The 5 News Week: WWE Getting A Fresh New Start For The Network, Fans Understandably Frustrated Over The Booking For The Women's Division.

Hello, my fellow wrestling fans and welcome to the 5 news week. The post where I report 5 major or minor news of the week that I don't have time to do it separately. Without further ado, here are the 5 news week.

WWE Getting A Fresh New Start For The Network.

When the WWE Network launched 5 years ago (holy crap, 5 years?), it was a blessing and it's still is to this day. Fans have already said hello to WWE's little price friend of 9.99 dollars a month (that was surprisingly not corny) and ditched the routine of buying WWE PPVs for 40 to 50 dollars (unless you're a bar owner to which I say, I feel ya).

Now, WWE has announced a fresh interface for the network that has already launched as of writing this. Here's a statement from WWE about this quote:

"WWE Network has been updated this week with a sleeker design, simpler navigation and smarter search tools to help you enjoy all of WWE’s award-winning programming".

Gotta say the updated interface looks pretty good. It's easier to navigate and you can tell that they've been listening to the feedback based on how the search results have improved drastically.

On the Q2 earnings on Thursday, WWE or more specifically George Barrios, has made mention that a free tier of the network will be coming first then a premium tier second and hopes that both tiers will be released in the next 12 months.

Barrios did not tell whether the free tier will be running ads or how limited the ads will be? Either way, I will keep an eye on this.

A Possible New Name For WWE's New Tuesday Show On FS1?

We all know that a show about everything WWE will hit our television screens on FS1 this fall. Now, the company has filed a trademark last week called "After The Bell". There's no official wording as to whether it's for this particular show or not but there are speculations out there that it is.

Renee Young is rumoured to host that show which I talked about that back on the June 16th edition of The 5 News Week. I hope that it's not a standard recap show like an Afterburn or Experience and more of a Talking Smack like show (speaking of WWE experience, where the hell did Jack Korpela disappeared?)

Triple H Has Reportedly Met With Dragon Gate.

From The Wrestling Observer Newsletter and Uncle Dave, Triple H has met with executives from Dragon Gate and officials from Stardom and the reason is quite obvious. I'll explain it to all of you slow mofos.

WWE is looking to invest in the Japanese market just like any other business that wants to expand their product or service globally. The question is, will WWE create an "NXT Japan"? Yes? Maybe? No? Let me know in the comments.

Eric Bischoff Reportedly Invested A Lot Of Time With WWE Creative Team.

If you are a fan of mine then you'll know that I didn't post a Smackdown or an NXT review because my internet went down. What I can tell you about the blue brand is that Eric Bischoff was behind the scenes on the recent Smackdown Live show but there wasn't any change being put out there.

From PWInsider and Mike Johnson, Eric has spent a lot of time talking to the creative team and they (the PWInsider team) were told quote:

"All sides are taking their time to transition Bischoff in so that he can familiarize himself with the company and how it operates.''

Fans Understandably Frustrated Over The Booking For The Women's Division.

How did the complains came about? On the recent episode of Monday Night RAW, there was a Moment of Bliss segment that featured a brawl in the end between Becky Lynch and the number one contender in Natalya that lasted for a few minutes.

Fans took it to Twitter to air their frustrations and the hashtag "giveWWEwomenachance" was born. Now, with the help of pro wrestling fandom's information of how long the matches were, I've compared the women's matches all the way back to the last three weeks.

As you can tell, the numbers are really depressing. Will WWE listen this time? Anything is possible but I highly doubt that.

FUTURE ME!!: I accidentally typed in the wrong total RAW and Smackdown match times. The total number for Smackdown is 18:07 while RAW is 31:28. My bad y'all.

Check out Bell To Belles's article on that topic because it's a good read duh?

What do you think about the news I just reported and follow me on the tweets @omartheplayaguy. Anyways, stay safe smarks.

WWE Smackdown Season Premiere | A Coherent Review.

It is the season premiere of Friday night Smackdown even though WWE doesn't have an offseason.  Nevertheless, it was a decent program and had a WAY better ending than whatever the hell of an ending last year's premiere of Friday night Smackdown showed.  There isn't a women's match this week and all of the AEW fanboys are looking at this like, "sEe, WWE dOeSn't feATuRe wOmeN'S mAtChEs aLsO."  pictures via WWE.com The Season Premiere Of Smackdown 2020.  The show started off with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon highlighting the scheduled matches for Smackdown as well as the superstars.  Chaos then ensued thanks to a huge brawl. Then, the "super freak" Lars Sullivan came out and delivered the freak accident to Shorty G.  Somehow, Jeff Hardy attacked him and that led to the opening match of the night between Lars and Jeff.  You know, I'm kind of surprised that two white people in McMahon and Hemsley knew who Rick James is.  Maybe I'm igno...

THE Coherent AEW Take: Christian Dior, Dior. Eddie Kingston up in all the stores!

Ever since AEW Dynamite was on Saturday night for a bit, I've been WAY behind on AEW content so excuse my ignorance. And It's Full Gear weekend which means another PPV that would last longer than the Snyder cut.  Sheeit, I'll bet the collar and elbow hold alone from the Hangman Page and Kenny Omega championship match, is longer than the entire Queen's Crown tournament.  As far as how I feel about both programs this week, well.  They did an okay job on building towards the final AEW PPV of the year this Saturday. Rampage.   Highlights.  Bryan Danielson vs Anthony Bowens.  And no, the highlight doesn't include Max Caster's verses. I'll rather listen to f**king Riff Raff than Max Caster's dig on anything.  The worst part, people are probably going to look at this and say, "can't wait for a Max Caster's appearance on Wild 'N Out!"  With that being said, this opening match was good. Danielson wins with the rebel lock.  Eddie Kingston (wi...

The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Fyter Fest 2020 Came Back Swinging?

Last week, on this very series, I said that I enjoyed Great American Bash better than Fyter Fest.  Well, this week is the exact opposite. AEW came in swinging with night 2 Fyter Fest.  I've not liked a Dynamite episode in several weeks so it's nice to see that the show finally executed a great show since God knows how long.   NXT      Highlights (at least in my opinion because wrestling is subjective).  Mia Yim vs Candice LeRae In A Street Fight. The match went underway after Yim quickly attacked Candice LeRae during LeRae's entrance.  In the crowd area, Candice tried to nail the suplex on the table but Yim got out of that position and kicked her to which she landed through the table.  The Streetfight concluded with LeRae striking Yim with the brass knuckles followed by a swinging neck from the top of the table onto a bunch of chairs and that's how LeRae defeats the HBIC.  A fun opening match even though...
