WWE Smackdown Live 18/6/19 | My Coherent Review.

Another win for WWE main roster TV. This was a very good show and it's because of those shows, I'm actually excited for Stomping Ground. Click here if you wanna read my review for Monday Night RAW last night.

Opening segment.

WWE Champion Kofi Kingston and The New Day kick off SmackDown LIVE!
This show kicked with The New Day while I really like The New Day, them opening Smackdown feels repetitive at this point but it is what it is. Xavier Woods started to promote Kofi's match with Dolph this coming Sunday.

When Big E was about to reveal what he's going to do on the final hour, Dolph Ziggler showed up and said that Kofi doesn't deserve to be champion and how he relies on The New Day for his success.

Kofi wonders if Ziggler has forgotten where this WWE Title began: inside of a different cage, the Elimination Chamber.

Kofi Kingston said "hold up, hold up" and mentions that he's been in a cage but in a different cage aka the Elimination Chamber and promises Ziggler that he's going to defeat the show-off.

Dolph Ziggler replied by saying that he's gonna beat Kofi and that title should be his. The way Ziggler cut that promo sounded like he could pull off a psychotic heel character if he ends up going that direction with his character.

Dolph Ziggler vs Xavier Woods.

During the match, Xavier Woods took out Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn with a cross body onto the outside after they started to hit a series of punches to Kofi and Big E.

Xavier then did a press position into a gutbuster. Ziggler hits a vicious superkick on the outside, another superkick minutes later inside the ring and that's how Ziggler won the match. If it wasn't for the commercial break, this match would've been pretty good but it was decent though.

Backstage segment happens in which Shelton Benjamin was talking to The B team about the special guest referee outside Baron Corbin's room. Matt Hardy came out of that room and said to Shelton "Senior Benjamin, you're next" to which he replied, "that's Mr Benjamin". That reply from Shelton Benjamin was hilarious and it made me think "what if he was given an opportunity to be himself like actually himself?" Don't know why but it’s something to think about.

A Moment of Bliss. Special Guest, Her Opponent At Stomping Ground In Bayley.

WWE Photo
Alexa Bliss called out somebody for her coffee until Bayley came out with her coffee and actually drank it. Bayley said that if she has anything to say something bad about her then Alexa should say it to her face.

Bliss happily accepted that and she said that Bayley is not as nice as people think and how she's treated her like crap in NXT. Bayley then replied that accusations by saying that she's lying (what a comeback). Alexa countered that saying that Bayley peaked in NXT which is true.

Bayley had enough, beats up Bliss and Nikki Cross stopped her for a second until Alexa Bliss hits her from behind. I like this segment mostly because of one person and that's Alexa Bliss. Probably the best promo I've heard from Bliss in quite some time.

Jumping into another backstage segment, Apollo Crews asked Zelina Vega about Andrade and she started to flirt with Crews. Then, Andrade hits Crews from behind. Can those guys fight already like I really wanna see them wrestle?

Heavy Machinery vs The B Team.

WWE Photo
Always great watching Otis doing his thing in the ring. Heavy Machinery won the match with the compactor. After the match, Seth Rollins came out and hits The B team with chair shots.

Meanwhile, Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens went to Shane outside the arena and they gave their concern about Seth Rollins. Shane answered that with a tag team match between them, Rollins and Kofi Kingston.

Shane McMahon Wants To Give Drew McIntyre A Spotlight (hoping that is not a foreshadowing to a main roster call up for Velveteen Dream).

“The Best in the World” wants to put the spotlight on McIntyre before The Scottish Terminator battles Reigns at Stomping Grounds.
You know, I'm shocked that Shane McMahon didn't have his own talk show called "The Weekly Spot with Shane McMahon" because that's what RAW and Smackdown Live mostly is as of late.

Anyways, he didn't want an introduction from Greg Hamilton which is shocking actually. Shane gave Drew a platform to talk about Roman Reigns and that's exactly what he did.

WWE Photo
Out came The Miz and he came out to show footage of Roman Reigns beating up The Revival, Drew McIntyre and Shane McMahon and he showed Shane getting his backside kicked in slow motion.

The Miz then cut a passionate about how Shane came from saying that SmackDown Live is a land of opportunity to taking opportunities from other superstars. He also said that he blamed himself for cheering Shane McMahon about his win at *ugh* Crown Jewel and he wants to end the ego-driven maniac in Shane McMahon.

Shane replied that with a tag team match between Drew, Elias, Miz and his partner of choice and it was R Truth who by the way, was trying to escape. Miz because he's one talented mofos, did more than just saved this segment. That promo Miz cut was great.

After that, Paige made a tag team match between The Kabuki Warriors and The IIconics in Tokyo assuming it's on a house show. Also in that same segment, The Authors of Pain were talking to each other which was random.

The Miz and R Truth aka Awesome Truth vs Drew Mcintyre and Elias. Tag Team Elimination Match.

WWE Photo
After Elias eliminated Truth, The rest of the roster came and Shelton Benjamin took the 24/7 title.

The ref told him that's not how it works until Truth took the belt away from the ref and ran while the roster were chasing him. The heel team obviously won the match with a claymore kick and Drew hits Miz with two more claymore kicks after the match was over.

WWE Photo

Truth actually lost the 24/7 title from Drake Maverick after Maverick disguised himself as Carmella. He took the ref's car and drove because he's gotta get married. Truth said that he didn't know that "Carmella" was about to get married and asked himself why wasn't he invited? That was hilarious.

I know this is a no shit Sherlock moment but Truth somehow always turns chicken shit into crispy Popeyes fried chicken of a particular segment because that's how good he is.

Kofi Kingston and Seth Rollins vs Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. 2 out of 3 Falls match.

WWE Photo
The babyface team won the first fall quickly with a trouble in paradise to Sami Zayn. Making the 2 of 3 falls stipulation aspect of the match completely useless.

Seth Rollins and Kofi Kingston won the second with a stomp from Seth Rollins to Kevin Owens. A decent match overall but they should've made this match into a regular tag team match.

So, to recap for all of you slow mofos:

Like: The Miz's promo, the Moment Of Bliss segment, that moment with Shelton Benjamin and Matt Hardy, the 24/7 title switch.

Didn't like: The 2 out of 3 falls stipulation main event match was useless.

WWE Smackdown Season Premiere | A Coherent Review.

It is the season premiere of Friday night Smackdown even though WWE doesn't have an offseason.  Nevertheless, it was a decent program and had a WAY better ending than whatever the hell of an ending last year's premiere of Friday night Smackdown showed.  There isn't a women's match this week and all of the AEW fanboys are looking at this like, "sEe, WWE dOeSn't feATuRe wOmeN'S mAtChEs aLsO."  pictures via WWE.com The Season Premiere Of Smackdown 2020.  The show started off with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon highlighting the scheduled matches for Smackdown as well as the superstars.  Chaos then ensued thanks to a huge brawl. Then, the "super freak" Lars Sullivan came out and delivered the freak accident to Shorty G.  Somehow, Jeff Hardy attacked him and that led to the opening match of the night between Lars and Jeff.  You know, I'm kind of surprised that two white people in McMahon and Hemsley knew who Rick James is.  Maybe I'm igno...

The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Fyter Fest 2020 Came Back Swinging?

Last week, on this very series, I said that I enjoyed Great American Bash better than Fyter Fest.  Well, this week is the exact opposite. AEW came in swinging with night 2 Fyter Fest.  I've not liked a Dynamite episode in several weeks so it's nice to see that the show finally executed a great show since God knows how long.   NXT      Highlights (at least in my opinion because wrestling is subjective).  Mia Yim vs Candice LeRae In A Street Fight. The match went underway after Yim quickly attacked Candice LeRae during LeRae's entrance.  In the crowd area, Candice tried to nail the suplex on the table but Yim got out of that position and kicked her to which she landed through the table.  The Streetfight concluded with LeRae striking Yim with the brass knuckles followed by a swinging neck from the top of the table onto a bunch of chairs and that's how LeRae defeats the HBIC.  A fun opening match even though...

THE Coherent AEW Take: Christian Dior, Dior. Eddie Kingston up in all the stores!

Ever since AEW Dynamite was on Saturday night for a bit, I've been WAY behind on AEW content so excuse my ignorance. And It's Full Gear weekend which means another PPV that would last longer than the Snyder cut.  Sheeit, I'll bet the collar and elbow hold alone from the Hangman Page and Kenny Omega championship match, is longer than the entire Queen's Crown tournament.  As far as how I feel about both programs this week, well.  They did an okay job on building towards the final AEW PPV of the year this Saturday. Rampage.   Highlights.  Bryan Danielson vs Anthony Bowens.  And no, the highlight doesn't include Max Caster's verses. I'll rather listen to f**king Riff Raff than Max Caster's dig on anything.  The worst part, people are probably going to look at this and say, "can't wait for a Max Caster's appearance on Wild 'N Out!"  With that being said, this opening match was good. Danielson wins with the rebel lock.  Eddie Kingston (wi...
