The 5 News Week: What’s With The Shane McMahon WWE Champion Rumour?

Hello, my fellow wrestling fans and welcome to the 5 news week. The post where I report 5 major or minor news of the week that I don't have time to do it separately. Without further ado, here are the 5 news week.

What’s With The Shane McMahon WWE Champion Rumour?

Let’s begin with the “reports”. This story first came about when an account by the name of sliced wrestling which is a parody account of slice wrestling (a source that is notoriously unreliable) posted a satirical tweet about how Shane is going to be the WWE champion because he’s been featured a lot on WWE television as of late.

2 days later, WrestleVotes tweets out about the payoff for Shane McMahon’s being a top heel currently and I want you guys to read what WrestleVotes said CAREFULLY:

“I’ve asked what the payoff is to this major Shane McMahon push & TV time allotment. No one seems to have a solid answer. One source said he could see (JUST HIS SPECULATION HERE) Shane being the one to defeat Kofi for the title. That would be something”.

In other words, that WrestleVotes’ source gave his/her opinion and not saying that Shane McMahon is going to win the WWE title. Why did most of the websites out there took this tweet as a story, I have no clue.

Like I mentioned in my Ronda Rousey article a couple of months ago (which you can click here to read it if you’re curious), always, always, check who’s the source. Is it a pain in your behind to read the whole thing? Yes but that’s what it takes to find out the legitimacy of a particular report.

Arn Anderson On Still Being Legally Bound With WWE.

Switching gears now, former WWE producer Arn Anderson was on The Two Man Power Trip podcast and He talked about AEW being good for the industry and the reason why he didn’t go to Double Or Nothing (transcript Via Pro Wrestling Sheet):

“Make no mistake, I want to be clear, I do not work for AEW,”"We haven’t had that discussion as of yet. Not to say that I wouldn’t be honored somewhere down the road to be offered a position with those guys, but we just haven’t had that conversation because right now quite frankly I’m legally bound to a non-disclosure agreement.”

You can listen to the whole interview below.

Daniel Bryan Appears On The Latest Episode Of RAW.

One of the Smackdown Live tag team champions in Daniel Bryan is going to appear on the go home show of RAW before Stomping Grounds using the wildcard rule of course.

Also worth mentioning that Bray Wyatt is also scheduled to appear on RAW This Week but it hasn’t been confirmed by WWE but rather it was Mike Johnson over at PWinsider who broke the story

If that’s true then it’s really an odd decision to make considering that they have a PPV to promote and build but it is what it is.

Renee Young Rumoured To Host The Tuesday Show on FS1.

If you can’t tell from the headline above, this is a rumour but God I hope it’s true. This story came from an American sports site called The Big Lead which states in the article quote:

“Renee Young is highly likely to be the host of the weekly WWE studio show on FS1, The Big Lead has learned. FOX will air WWE Smackdown on the broadcast network beginning this Fall, and in April Triple H announced on First Things First that there will additionally be a weekly studio show will FS1 on Tuesday nights.”

Talking Smack was a great after show for Smackdown Live and I hope they follow the style from Talking Smack. If she’s doing it with a host then she needs someone that has excellent chemistry with Renee and I cannot think of anybody on that roster that can do it.

Lars Sullivan Injured But Is It Serious?

Lars Sullivan was supposed to be on last week’s Smackdown Live in a match against Matt Hardy but a “minor injury” sidelined from him doing so according to an earlier Observer Newsletter

Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter came back later saying that Lars Sullivan’s injury is not minor and it is actually more serious than they initially believe.

Lars is going to undergo an MRI on his knee to check the exact nature of that injury and expects that he’s not gonna show up on RAW or Smackdown this week. All I can say is I hope it’s not that serious. I wish the dude nothing but a speedy of recovery.

What do you think about the news I just reported and follow me on the tweets @omartheplayaguy. Anyways, stay safe smarks.

WWE Extreme Rules 2019 | My Coherent Review.

Man, I'm impressed with WWE in terms of PPVs as of late because overall, this was a fantastic show in my opinion with great matches but the crowd was dead for most of the show so that sucks.  I finally watched the pre-show match between Finn Balor and Shinsuke Nakamura before I went to bed because the show aired at 2 am where I live and it was okay.  By the way, how interesting is it when on last year’s Extreme Rules show, Shinsuke Nakamura won the United States championship and now this year’s show, he won the intercontinental title. Also, it's funny that the intercontinental championship was the main event on last's year show and on this year's Extreme Rules PPV, it's on the preshow.  Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre vs Roman Reigns and The Undertaker.  Mike Rome did better in announcing "The Best In the world" this time than on RAW. Mike Rome's announcement a few weeks ago sounded like that one friend that thinks he/she knows how to ...

NXT Takeover: In Your House 2020 | A Coherent Review.

NXT Takeover: In Your House is like the rest of the Takeover shows, a fantastic 2 hours of professional wrestling.  What makes this show special is the additional nostalgia like how the show started with the NXT WWF inspired intro, the ice cream commercial narrated by William Regal doing his best Lord Alferd Hayes impression, icopro commercial and last but not least, Todd Pettengill.  This is a show that I'm definitely rewatching in years to come.  Mia Yim, Tegan Nox And Shotzi Blackheart vs Raquel Gonzalez, Candice LeRae And Dakota Kai.  A decent opening match. During the match, Nox did a Molly Holly top rope on to every competitor in the match.  Yim tried to give LeRae some Seoul Food but LeRae reversed that into a suplex. Several minutes later, Shotzi did a Salida Del Sol of some sort on Gonzalez to which Nox delivered the shiniest wizard on Kai and won the match.  Finn Balor vs Damian Priest. I actually thought that the closing mo...

The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Holy Sh*t, The Revival Are All Elite, Matt Riddle vs Timothy Thatcher In A Unique Steel Cage Match.

Both shows had its weak points but overall, that was an enjoyable 4 hours of professional wrestling television. I personally liked AEW Dynamite this week.  From an awesome women's match with Shida and Christi Jaynes to The Revival showing up, AEW managed to give me a solid episode and successfully furthered their storylines to next week's exciting show.  NXT   Highlights (at least in my opinion because wrestling is subjective).  Kushida vs Drake Maverick vs Jake Atlas. Triple Threat Match Interim Cruiserweight Championship Tournament.  What a way to kick off this episode of NXT, am I right? Atlas delivered the rainbow DDT but Kushida broke Jake's pin.  Speaking of Kushida, he nailed the armbar submission, however, Drake pinned Atlas because Atlas' shoulders were on the mat and will meet El Hijo Del Fantasma for the finals next week.  I don't know if Drake is rehired or he's going to be rehired but Maverick has a big ta...
