WWE Smackdown Live 7/5/19 | My Coherent Review.

Smackdown Live this week was a good show. I was expecting a meh episode but it did surprise me of how good the show was.

Opening segment.

… but Zayn interjects and takes issue with Kofi challenging Styles to a title bout tonight.
The show started off with AJ Styles coming back from RAW to Smackdown Live because of the wildcard rule (like I said on my RAW review last night which you can click here, why can't they invite all of the superstars from one show to another instead of 4?). Sami Zayn came out and said that he knew that AJ would take that wildcard rule as an advantage.

AJ then replied by saying that Sami smells like crap (because Braun threw Sami in the trash can on RAW last night) with chants of “Take a shower” which was funny. Out came The New Day minus Big E of course and Kofi asked AJ Styles what is AJ doing here on this SmackDown? AJ answered by saying that he returned the favour by coming from one show to another just like what Kofi did on RAW yesterday.

Sami Zayn then mentions Kofi Kingston going to defend his championship against AJ and also mentions that he deserves a championship. The segment ended with Kofi wanting to defend the WWE championship against Sami Zayn or AJ Styles which we found out minutes later that Kofi defends the WWE championship against Sami and AJ. If it wasn't for Sami Zayn, this segment would've sucked if I'm being honest.

After that, a smartphone promo cut by Kevin Owens and he said that he's not in the arena because it's his birthday. He ended the promo by saying that he's gonna take the WWE championship away from Kofi Kingston.

Ali vs Andrade.

The match was okay. Randy Orton interfered in the match, ending the match in a DQ. Randy then delivered the RKO to both Andrade and Ali. So, Randy got his payback from last week's show.

Shane McMahon to Crown New Tag Team Champions.

Shane McMahon gets ready to present the vacant SmackDown Tag Team Titles to...
After Shane addresses his actions on RAW last night, he crowned Daniel Bryan and Rowan as the new Smackdown Live tag team champions but then, The Usos came out and said that they put the tag team division on the map and Shane’s gonna hand the championships like that?

The Usos proposed a match between themselves, Daniel Bryan and Rowan for the tag team championship to which Shane accepted.

This was a very good match guys. In other words, it was a superkick party with so many superkicks from Jey and Jimmy Uso. The team of Daniel Bryan and Rowan won the championships with the Iron Claw to Jey Uso. The only positive coming out of that wildcard rule.

Suddenly, The Miz jumps Shane from behind!

After that incredible match, Shane McMahon is gonna announce something about Money In The Bank until The Miz came out and was chasing Shane McMahon until the B Team came out to help Shane to which McMahon used it as an advantage to hit Miz with a steel chair.

Backstage segment happened in which Daniel Bryan and Rowan were walking until Heavy Machinery looked at those guys with the titles.

Ember Moon and Carmella vs Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville.

The team Ember Moon and Carmella lost the match with the underhook slam from Mandy Rose to Ember Moon. After the match, Paige along with Kairi Sane and Asuka came out and made a tag match between the babyface team and the heel team in Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville.

A backstage interview conducted by Kayla Braxton and she asked Matt Hardy about Jeff Hardy. Then, R Truth came and both of those guys talked about Lars Sullivan until the freak himself from behind, beat the veterans up. I like Lars Sullivan destroying objects and human beings because why not right?

At one point, AJ Styles was going for a reverse DDT to Sami Zayn until Kofi came and delivered the SOS while AJ Styles delivered the reverse DDT at the same time. That was a cool move. Minutes later, Kevin Owens from outta nowhere came out and pushed Xavier Woods to the steel steps.

That lead to Sami Zayn hitting not one, not two but three blue thunder bombs to Kofi Kingston but he kicked out. The match ended with Kofi hitting a trouble in paradise to Sami. Good match but if I had to nitpick something, why would Kevin Owens let Sami take the WWE championship away from Kofi considering that he wants to beat Kofi and take Kofi’s title away from him? I didn't get that but whatever.

So, to recap for all of you slow mofos:

Like: Not a fan of the wildcard rule but at least the rule stayed consistent, the WWE championship triple threat match, the SmackDown Live Tag Team Championship match, Lars Sullivan beating up people as usual.

Didn't like: Besides my thoughts of Kevin Owens’ role in the main event match, nothing really.

WWE Smackdown Season Premiere | A Coherent Review.

It is the season premiere of Friday night Smackdown even though WWE doesn't have an offseason.  Nevertheless, it was a decent program and had a WAY better ending than whatever the hell of an ending last year's premiere of Friday night Smackdown showed.  There isn't a women's match this week and all of the AEW fanboys are looking at this like, "sEe, WWE dOeSn't feATuRe wOmeN'S mAtChEs aLsO."  pictures via WWE.com The Season Premiere Of Smackdown 2020.  The show started off with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon highlighting the scheduled matches for Smackdown as well as the superstars.  Chaos then ensued thanks to a huge brawl. Then, the "super freak" Lars Sullivan came out and delivered the freak accident to Shorty G.  Somehow, Jeff Hardy attacked him and that led to the opening match of the night between Lars and Jeff.  You know, I'm kind of surprised that two white people in McMahon and Hemsley knew who Rick James is.  Maybe I'm igno...

The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Fyter Fest 2020 Came Back Swinging?

Last week, on this very series, I said that I enjoyed Great American Bash better than Fyter Fest.  Well, this week is the exact opposite. AEW came in swinging with night 2 Fyter Fest.  I've not liked a Dynamite episode in several weeks so it's nice to see that the show finally executed a great show since God knows how long.   NXT      Highlights (at least in my opinion because wrestling is subjective).  Mia Yim vs Candice LeRae In A Street Fight. The match went underway after Yim quickly attacked Candice LeRae during LeRae's entrance.  In the crowd area, Candice tried to nail the suplex on the table but Yim got out of that position and kicked her to which she landed through the table.  The Streetfight concluded with LeRae striking Yim with the brass knuckles followed by a swinging neck from the top of the table onto a bunch of chairs and that's how LeRae defeats the HBIC.  A fun opening match even though...

THE Coherent AEW Take: Christian Dior, Dior. Eddie Kingston up in all the stores!

Ever since AEW Dynamite was on Saturday night for a bit, I've been WAY behind on AEW content so excuse my ignorance. And It's Full Gear weekend which means another PPV that would last longer than the Snyder cut.  Sheeit, I'll bet the collar and elbow hold alone from the Hangman Page and Kenny Omega championship match, is longer than the entire Queen's Crown tournament.  As far as how I feel about both programs this week, well.  They did an okay job on building towards the final AEW PPV of the year this Saturday. Rampage.   Highlights.  Bryan Danielson vs Anthony Bowens.  And no, the highlight doesn't include Max Caster's verses. I'll rather listen to f**king Riff Raff than Max Caster's dig on anything.  The worst part, people are probably going to look at this and say, "can't wait for a Max Caster's appearance on Wild 'N Out!"  With that being said, this opening match was good. Danielson wins with the rebel lock.  Eddie Kingston (wi...
