WWE Smackdown Live 30/4/19 | My Coherent Review.

This has to be the best week for WWE TV because this episode was a good show.

Opening segment.

The show started off with Michael Cole introducing Kofi Kingston for an in-ring interview. Cole asked him if Kofi would ever believe that he's going to be WWE champion

Kofi answered the question with a yes and said that he has been fighting for this moment for years. After Cole showed a video of Kofi's big win at Wrestlemania 35, Michael Cole asked Kofi about Kevin Owens and what he did to Kofi and Xavier Woods last week.

Kofi Kingston answered by saying that The New Day believes in giving chances to be a good person if that person wants to change. He then challenged Owens to a championship match at Money In The Bank to which Owens came out and accepted.

Xavier Woods came from behind Owens and Owens kicked him which led to Kofi checking on his best friend. This was a decent segment but the interview part took a bit long but Owens showing up made the segment better.

Bayley vs Becky Lynch

This is surprisingly a competitive match and it made Bayley look good even though she lost the match. Becky Lynch won the with the disarmher and then Charlotte showed up outta nowhere with a big boot.

After that, Aleister Black cut a promo in a dark background just like last week. In it, he basically said the abyss will reveal the truth about themselves and they will fade to black.

The Hardy Boyz Addresses The Future Of The SmackDown Live Tag Team Championship.

SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Hardy Boyz hit the scene ready to make an announcement.
Another in-ring promo segment, this time it's from The Hardy Boyz and Kayla Braxton asked them about the SmackDown Live Tag Team Championship. The reason why Jeff Hardy’s injured is because of Lars Sullivan and they relinquished the titles. Out came the Freak himself and delivers the freak accident to Matt Hardy.

He was about to put the mugging on Jeff until R Truth came out and hits him with a steel chair that made Lars feel absolutely nothing. Lars then delivered R Truth with the running sitout powerbomb. The only thing I would critique about this is that I wish he actually makes his in-ring debut already but that's just me. Nevertheless, I would watch Lars Sullivan destroy things all day.

Asuka and Kairi Sane vs Local Jobbers.

Asuka and Kairi Sane won the match with the insane elbow drop from Kairi Sane. Meanwhile, Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville were watching this and Mandy announced that she's part of the women's Money In The Bank ladder match.

Roman Reigns’ Addresses His Reason As To Why He punched Vince McMahon.

He wanted to remind everyone that he’s still The Big Dog… and SmackDown LIVE is his yard.
Roman Reigns cut a promo about how Reigns superman punch to Vince was a statement that it's his yard. Shane McMahon came out and he said that The McMahon Family owns all land to which Roman Reigns replied with “No, your Daddy owns the land”.

Roman then asked if Shane could fight him and Shane replied with a no (obviously because he's a heel, duh). Instead, Shane made a match between Roman Reigns and The B Team with a special guest referee enforcer in Elias. I don't know what the endgame of this feud is but I'm not impressed with this so far.

Roman Reigns vs The B Team.

Roman Reigns almost had his win until Elias screws Roman Reigns with series of punches on the outside. Axel then delivered the perfect plex but Roman Reigns kicked out. After that, Elias tried to hit Roman Reigns with a guitar but Roman Reigns hits Elias with a superman punch and the almighty spear to Axel and won the match.

Ali and Finn Balor vs Randy Orton and Andrade.

WWE Photo
After they showed the same firefly fun house segment from last night's episode of RAW, this match happened and it was fine. The babyface team won the match with the 450 splash from Ali to Andrade. After the match, Randy Orton hits Balor with an RKO and then Ali delivered Randy with two superkicks. Ali looked good in the end and that's a positive.

The final two women announced in the ladder match are Ember Moon and Carmella so there's that.

The Kevin Owens show. Special Guest, Xavier Woods.

WWE Photo
In this segment, Kevin Owens said that at Money In The Bank, he's going to take Kofi Kingston championship away from him. Kevin then calls out Xavier Woods to the ring to which Woods didn't come out. Instead, Owens brought up the action figure versions of Xavier Woods and Big E.

Kofi came out with no music and ran to the ring so that he could viciously beat the crap out of him which that's exactly what happened. A much better segment than the opening segment and this is probably the best storyline in main roster WWE if I'm being honest. It's simple and engaging to follow kinda like a typical NXT feud.

So, to recap for all of you slow mofos:

Like: The ending of this episode, Lars Sullivan destroying things, Bayley vs Becky Lynch, Ali looks good in the end.

Didn't like: The Roman Reigns feud with the McMahon Family so far.

WrestleFest DXB's Fahrenheit 971 | A Coherent W.

Being a fan of pro wrestling (or any other medium of entertainment) does have its pros and cons when engaging with the industry as a whole.  On one hand, you've witnessed an Eddie Kingston promo that'll make you tear up more than the opening scene of Up.  On the other hand, going to the wrestling subreddit will definitely have you questioning humanity as a whole and the fact that living in an area where a wrestling presence pretty much doesn't exist like a Vince Russo-written storyline that is, you know, GOOD!?  Luckily, the latter retracted my con as a fan because I'm talking about Wrestlefest DXB and their latest joint, "971 Fahrenheit".  Martin Bushby of now Post Wrestling Alumni brought the event to my attention because like a wrestler on an episode of RAW I get distracted all the time.  So, I decided to take a short journey to a taxi then a bus then a train then a 30-minute walk to the show itself and I know I'm going to sound biased as f**k but I l...

Let's Talk About The White Rabbit In The Room.

I haven't reviewed last year's show mainly because it was so good and clearly as extreme as any ECW match and I'm happy to tell all 3 of y'all that this one is better by several inches or so. Why? *slaps my bald head* HERE'S WHY. The opening match between Sheamus and Gunther's crew ruled harder than the Mongolian empire.  It was basically an enhanced version of Sheamus' match with Gunther last night on Smackdown and I loved it.  The Brawling Brutes' victory means one thing that is clearly obvious, a rematch between Sheamus and Gunther for the intercontinental championship aka the only series of rematches I don't mind.  Ronda Rousey and Liv Morgan delivered in what was a wrestling match equivalent to the X-Men Dark Phoenix movie.  While Bianca Belair and Bayley had their equivalent to the first Iron Man movie in that it was decent.  Drew McIntyre and Karrion Kross had an okay edition of the "Meaty men slapping meat".  That spear from Edge to...

A Few Thoughts On RAW And Smackdown: RAW wasn't GREAT!?

Since this blog will be less of a priority now considering I'm focusing on my podcast now (hit the 5 stars on Apple Podcast you sons of b*tches), I decided to share my few thoughts on RAW, Smackdown, I guess?  Smackdown.  The blue brand delivered yet another good episode this week and it's probably due to the fact that Braun Strowman taking out the Maximum Model is high-key funny as f**k.  The folks over at Titan Towers are bringing back the essence of their characters whether it's Kevin Owens, Shayna Baszler or in this case, Big Braun himself.   As a fan, you gotta love it, especially since in the case of Strowman, the dude hasn't been the same since he turned heel 4 years ago when feuding with Roman Reigns for the universal title.   Other noteworthy segments include Logan Paul challenging Roman Reigns for the big world universal multiverse galactic cinematic championship.  Imagine they pulled that match off 7 years ago back when Logan was on V...
