AEW Double Or Nothing | My Coherent Review.

I was supposed to post this review two hours after the show aired but my internet connection went down for several hours and I got extremely frustrated and if you’re addicted to the interwebs, that is probably the scariest thing ever other than your worst fear of course.

Anyways, I, unfortunately, haven't watched the two pre-show matches because I was out working. So, the million dollar question, was AEW's Double Or Nothing a great show? I'm happy to announce that it was an outstanding PPV overall. One of the problems I had with ALL IN is the match card placements and they fixed it in this PPV.

Oh, and I'm warning you guys that this PPV review is longer than my Wrestlemania 35 review (which you can click here) just because a lot of things happened on this show. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find pictures for each match so y’all are only going to see the writing.

Double Or Nothing started off with the Hamilton stars sang the American National anthem (omg, can Jadelyn F'ing sing).

SCU in Christopher Daniels, Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky vs Strong Heart in Super Cima, Wet Hawk and El Lindaman.

Other than Christopher Daniels, I admittedly don't know any of those guys (obviously because I'm a WWE shill) was this match any good? Yea, it was. Scorpio Sky is the man of the match after that performance.

At one point, Kazarian delivered a northern lights suplex to Cima and at the same time, did a roll up using his legs to Lindaman which looked great. The match ended with Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian delivered the best Meltzer ever which is a tombstone piledriver position from one person into a moonsault from another person.

Kylie Ray vs Nyla Rose vs Dr Britt Baker D.M.D.

Before the match, Brandi Rhodes came out with her ring gear and I and other wrestling fans assumed that she'll be in this match but nope. Brandi said that she wants this match to be awesome and out came Awesome Kong which is not the first surprise of the night I'll tell you that much.

During the match, all of those women went down with a suplex jackknife powerbomb combination that you usually see in multi-man wrestling matches from the top rope. The match ended with Britt hitting a suplex position into a knee strike on Kyle's neck and won the match. Another good match. Their women's division looks very promising after this match.

Best Friends in Chuck Taylor and Trent Barreta vs Angelico and Jack Evans.

Obviously, I know who Trent Barreta because he was in the lower midcard to straight up job guy in WWE.  I've seen Angelico and Jack Evans wrestle before back in Lucha Underground so I'm familiar with 3 out of the 4 guys in this match.

Minutes after the match started, Taylor hits a falcon arrow to Evans and Evans kicked out which when Taylor said "nobody kicks out of the falcon arrow", the way he said it made me laugh. Then, Taylor put Evans in the crucifix bomb position into a cutter from Trent to a near fall.

After that, Angelico does a crucifix bomb of his own onto the turnbuckle which led to Jack Evans hitting a 630 splash to Barreta. The match ended with Trent hit a straight jacket pin into a stomp from Taylor and won this amazing tag team match.

After the match, the lights went down and some dudes with luchador masks were beating up Evans, Angelico, Taylor and Barreta. I don't recognize those guys and so did the crowd apparently. Nevertheless, this was a great match.

Also, a big announcement, AEW's All Out is happening on August 31st and will take place at the Sears Centre in Chicago, Illinois so that's exciting.

Riho, Ryo Mizunami, Hikaru Shida vs Yuka Sakazaki, Emi Sakura and Aja Kong.

These women obviously came from a Joshi style of professional wrestling which I’m not too familiar with. I believe Aja Kong wrestle in WWE back in the mid-90s when they had their small women's division that includes Alundra Blayze and she was supposed to face Blayze for the Women’s title at the 1996 Royal Rumble but the company ended their women’s division because of that infamous moment in wrestling when Alundra threw the title in the trash can on an episode of Nitro.  During the match, Emi Sakura put on a beating to Riho who by the way, is a 13-year veteran so shout out to Riho. At one point, Kong delivered a devastating piledriver to Riho.

Then, Sakura delivered a moonsault to Shida to a near fall and minutes later, Shida delivered a shining wizard to Emi Sakura and the team of Riho, Mizunami and Shida won the match. A very good 6 woman match and it was a good showcase of what those women are capable of.

Cody Rhodes vs Dustin Rhodes.

A match that actually happened before back in the Fastlane PPV in 2015 but it wasn't as anticipated as this one. Cody gets his Triple H like entrance and during the entrance, Brandi Rhodes brought up a sledgehammer, gave it to Cody and destroyed a chair that had Triple H like symbols. I wonder what that means *insert thinking person emoji*?

The match started off with Dusty chants from the Las Vegas crowd. Dustin was dominating this match until Brandi threw the older Rhodes with a water bottle on Dustin's face. Then, Cody pushes Dustin onto the exposed middle turnbuckle. Brandi then speared Dustin and the ref in Earl Hebner kicked her out and Diamond Dallas Page carried Brandi to the backstage area. By then, Dustin was bleeding profusely and Cody hits his brother with a series of punches.

Cody unbuckled his belt and gave it to the ref until Dustin took that belt, pulled Cody's pants which exposed his lower backside and spanked him like your father after you misbehave at school. After that moment, Dustin hits Cody with a sunset flip, hits Cody with a superplex and then delivered a Cross Rhodes to a near fall.

This bloodbath of an encounter ended with a second Cross Rhodes from Cody and he won the match. This was a very old school type of wrestling match and I ABSOLUTELY loved it. This was also the longest match review ever on this very site so that's should tell you the quality of this match.

After the match, Cody asked his brother to team up with him against The Young Bucks at the next AEW PPV which is Fight For The Fallen and Dustin accepted with a hug that made the crowd go wild. What a moment. This is what wrestling is all about, action, story and characters that you guys are invested as a fan.

The World Title Introduction.

Jack Whitehall introduced Bret Hart and Hart was carry a covered AEW title. Bret Hart then brings up the winner of the casino battle royal in Hangman Man Adam Page until MJF aka Maxwell Jacob Friedman came out with asshole chants and he was basically shitting on Page and the crowd. After that, Jungle Boy and Jimmy Havoc came out and they were beating up MJF.

Meanwhile, Bret Hart unveiled the AEW World Championship which looks amazing. If I looked up the definition of a heel, MJF would certainly pop up in the search results because he's so good in that role (No shit, Omar).

The Lucha Brothers in Rey Fenix and Pentagon Jr vs The Young Bucks in Matt and Nick Jackson for the AAA Tag Team Championship.

During the match, Matt carried Fenix, puts him on and immediately hits a spear to Pentagon.

Then, Nick does a 450 splash to Fenix while Matt was carrying Fenix on the middle ropes. Pentagon delivered a Canadian destroyer to Matt Jackson on the ring apron.

Minutes later, Matt delivered a moonsault and then, Nick delivered a 450 splash to Pentagon and he somehow kicked out of that. Pentagon hits a modified death valley driver after he broke Matt's arm and Matt kicked out of that. t

The match ended with The Young Bucks hitting the Meltzer driver and retains the AAA tag team titles. I've not seen an excellent tag team match since I saw that match between The Revival, Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano for the NXT Tag Team Championship at NXT Takeover: Toronto.

Kenny Omega vs Chris Jericho. Winner Faces The Challenger For The AEW World Championship.

I really loved Chris Jericho's entrance showing his career evolution. Anyways, the main event was pretty good. Chris Jericho was beating Omega with straight rights which led to Omega bleeding from his nose.

Jericho pulls out a table from the bottom inside of the ring and Kenny hits a suicide dive and a stomp on the table to Jericho. Kenny then hits Jericho with the V trigger onto the middle turnbuckle.

Jericho then threw Omega with a backdrop onto the outside through a table. Kenny got caught with a code breaker from Chris Jericho when Kenny jumped from the top rope.

Jericho hits Omega with the final code breaker and the new finisher in the Judas Affect which is a spinning elbow strike and won the match. In other words, he's gonna face Adam Page for the AEW World Championship. After the match, Jericho cut a promo basically saying that AEW is Chris Jericho and demands a thank you from the fans.

Out came Jon Moxley aka Dean Ambrose and the crowd went crazy. Jon hits Jericho and the ref with the dirty deeds and was about to hit the dirty deeds to Omega but Omega pushed Moxley on the outside and the brawl with each other but Kenny came short and Moxley hits him with the dirty deeds and a John Cena FU on the stage area.

We know the next feud for Kenny Omega and I'm sold. Congrats to Dean aka Jon for joining AEW and I hope that he hits the biggest of heights WWE doesn't allow him to with his character.

So, to recap for all of you slow mofos:

Like: Every match on that show.

Didn't like: Not a fan of the commentary but I hope it gets better.

WWE Smackdown Live 30/10/18 | My Coherent Review.

Smackdown Live yesterday was a skippable show other than the opening segment and match in my opinion. Now usually on my RAW/Smackdown Live review, I break down what's good, what's ok and what's bad. For the first time, I'm only gonna tell you what's ok given that this show was again a skippable show and here we go.  WHAT'S OK The opening segment  This is the probably one of if not most noteworthy moment this week mainly because as you might know, there were reports going around that John Cena and Daniel Bryan were out of Crown Jewel and the reports are indeed true and it makes sense, especially for John Cena considering that he's an actor now and he needs to maintain his PR status. The segment itself was decent. Loved both guys' intensity and that segment leads to a WWE championship match and speaking of which............. Daniel Bryan vs AJ Styles  Decent match. Expected a better from these two but again, decent nevertheless but...

WWE Smackdown 24/4/20 | A Coherent Review.

This week's Smackdown show was decent but it wasn't as strong as the previous weeks and *hits his head a few times* here's why.  The New Day Celebrates Their Title Victory. The show kicked off with the now 8th time WWE tag team champions, The New Day and like the title above, they were celebrating their big title win last week (No sh*t, Omar).  During the segment, Kofi mentioned that there's nothing wrong with pointing out that they have more title reigns than The Hart Foundation, Edge and Christian, Demolition, The New Age Outlaws etc because it's them being proud of their accomplishments.  Out came Lucha House Party, The Miz and John Morrison and they pretty much said that they deserve a title shot. The Forgotten Sons showed up to tell The New Day, Lucha House Party and every other tag team watching that they will never be forgotten.  They lived up to that statement as the Forgotten Sons destroyed Lucha House Party and The New Day.  ...

WWE RAW 28/12/20 | A Bit Late Coherent Review.

Before I start this review, I wanna say rest in peace to Jon Huber better known as the person behind the character of Luke Harper and Brodie Lee.  It was a tough, painful 3 days for the pro wrestling industry and I certainly felt that.  If there's one thing I've learned from the number of great stories being told by the people he has worked with is that Jon is a charming, funny and overall a fantastic human being that loves his family.  After reading the countless amount of fantastic tribute posts (including from the likes of Molly Belle of Wrestle Inn and Andrew Thompson of Post Wrestling ), that bit about Jon as a family man made me think of my current relationship with my father and the ways I'm trying to improve from my standpoint.  I know this is a cheese pizza saying but tell the people you cared about that you love 'em because that line might make their day.  So. Thank you, Jon Huber, for being the light that brightens everybody's darkness.  Now, Ho...
