The 5 News Week: JBL Doesn't Like Cody Rhodes All That Much I Think?, Aleister Blank Going To The Main Roster Soon?

Hello, my fellow wrestling fans and welcome to the 5 news week. The post where I report 5 major or minor news of the week that I don't have time to do it separately. Without further ado, here are the 5 news week.

JBL Doesn't Like Cody Rhodes All That Much I Think?

JBL, you know the guy that blocks half of the universe on Twitter said some crappy things about Cody Rhodes and also mentioned Cody's late father, Dusty Rhodes via a series of tweets while he was celebrating his 52nd birthday and watching an NFL game. Now, the tweets of Cody himself are still up as of me writing this but he has since deleted the tweets that mentioned Dusty and apologised and here's what JBL had to say:

An Update To The AEW Wrestling Story

Speaking of Cody Rhodes, he actually acknowledged the speculations of a new promotion called AEW Wrestling during a meet in greet in Melbourne, Australia. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter and Dave Meltzer, Cody said that fans will have to wait for a big announcement in January.

The Young Bucks addressed the trademarks that were filled in the new episode of Wrestling Perspective Podcast with IMPACT star Petey Williams and stated that they filled it in order to protect themselves in case they wanna do something with it. Nick Jackson mentioned that they haven't said no to anything but their options (referring to the offers that were given by major wrestling promotions according to them) are open.

Enzo Amore’s Songs Has Less Than 2,500 Streams On Spotify

This news doesn't really come to a surprise considering that his concert had less than 35 people in attendance according to Bodyslam.net. Now going with "Real1", his album got less than 2,500 streams on Spotify. Oh, by the way, His album didn't even sell 10,000 copies. Let's just say that his album flopped.

Aleister Black Going To The Main Roster Soon?

According to The Wrestling Observer Radio and Dave Meltzer, Dave basically stated that he "keeps hearing" of Black's promotion (demotion as I like to call it) to the main roster but hasn't mentioned when. Will see whether he's a victim of bad booking or not once he's in the main roster.

WWE Can Buy and Shut Down UK Promotions Reportedly Of Course.

WWE has a great partnership with UK promotions such as ICW, PROGRESS and WXW. Hence, having their NXT UK talent perform only in those promotions per Wrestletalk. Good old Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that even though WWE would cost them "high six figures" to purchase UK promotions, WWE can buy and shut down UK promotions at any time for several years.

If they actually implement that then WWE are killing competition which means no tension and no innovation. If it wasn't for competition then WWE would've not survived the Monday Night War in my opinion.

WWE Wrestlemania: Backlash 2021 | A Coherent Review.

Wrestlemania: Backlash or as I like to call it, Backlashimania, gets an enthusiastic thumbs up for me. I enjoyed the hell out of this PPV overall. Rhea Ripley vs Charlotte Flair vs Asuka For The RAW Women's Championship. Charlotte with the Cruella De Vil inspired ring gear was to quote Dolph Ziggler's old theme song, "perfection". The opening bout was fast-paced, high octane action that didn't have a slow/dull moment. All of these women utilized quick grapples and strikes to their advantage. WWE NXT 2.0 16/11/21 | A Coherent Review.

I haven't reviewed NXT in two weeks and holy crap, I didn't miss much at all. This week's show was BO. RING and I'm trying to make this interesting by adding my lame a** humour and you know you f'd up when I have to rely on my jokes to make this week's NXT discussion somewhat engaging. The answer is my favourite POC wrestler currently, Tony D'Angelo (that joke will never get old). Johnny Gargano came to check on Dexter Lumis after Camelo Hayes and Trick Williams destroyed Lumis' hand. Minutes later, all three guys in Dunne, Gargano and Hayes announced a triple threat match for the North American championship. Should be a good match, is all I'm going to say about that. WWE Smackdown 11/9/20 | A Coherent Review.

Smackdown is decent this week. But, I will say, they (Smackdown) have been by far the interesting show going into Clash Of Champions, unlike Monday Night RAW. pictures via WWE.com Roman Reigns' Wrecking Everyone Is Paul Heyman's Spoiler (no sh*t, Omar). Heyman started the show saying that Roman Reigns accomplished his goal to not only beat up people but as well as taking the championship that Reigns never lost. Heyman called out Jey Uso and Uso brought up the history between Jey's family and Paul Heyman. The history he was referring to was the fact that Paul Heyman managed The Usos' father, Rikishi back when Rikishi was part of the Head Skrinkers aka The Samoan Swat Team. King Corbin and Sheamus came out pretty much talking smack (see what just I did there?) about Jey Uso as number one contender.
