WWE Smackdown Live 6/11/18 | My Coherent Review.

If you read my last week’s Smackdown Live review (which you can click here) then you'll know that I thought it was okay. Well, I could say the same thing about this week’s show but it was a bit better.  So, I’m only gonna tell you what’s okay and what’s good. Here we go.

WHAT’S GOOD

Rey Mysterio vs Andrade “Cien” Almas

This is a dream match but did it live up to a dream match? Hell yea, this was a great match. Really liked the slide that Mysterio does into a DDT on the outside. Rey won with the 619 and then outta nowhere, Randy Orton hit the RKO.

WHAT’S OK

The Opening Segment

Miz thinks two thirds of the trophy belongs to him since he won two matches in the WWE World Cup.
Pretty much this segment goes like this. Paige opened Smackdown live and introduced Shane McMahon. Shane then tried his cheap pop that usually works but it didn’t which I thought it was funny. After that, they run down the match card for Survivor Series. Shane then called out the team captain and it was Daniel Bryan but Bryan got interrupted by The Miz.

Miz was “disappointed” that Daniel Bryan is team captain because he’s been in two gruelling matches at Crown Jewel, getting an “injury” etc you know basically making excuses. Shane appointed both Daniel Bryan and The Miz as team captains for Smackdown Live Men’s team which is actually interesting. Is this partnership going to pay off with a W? Will have to watch Survivor Series to find out.

The Usos vs The New Day. Winner becomes team captains for the Smackdown Live tag team Survivor Series team.

Decent match. Nothing too crazy. By the end of the match, Jimmy Uso countered Kofi’s Hurricanrana from the top rope and instead delivered a powerbomb followed by a Uso splash and won. After the match, The Usos respected The New Day’s effort and chose them to be a part of the Smackdown Live tag team Survivor Series team.

Becky Lynch vs Nikki Cross

SAnitY come to the entranceway...
Before the match, Becky cut a promo basically stated that she’s the real champ and Ronda is not and then issued an opened challenge and outcomes Nikki Cross. This is Nikki’s main roster debut and she lost with a disarmher. I don’t know how to feel about this considering that it’s her first match and the fact that you don’t want Becky to lose going into Survivor Series but if Nikki Cross is consistently losing on the main roster then that’s a problem.

Paige reveals the Smackdown Live women’s team at Survivor Series

… but she claims she’s really happy for Sonya before reminding everyone that she eliminated Deville in the Battle Royal at WWE Evolution.
Paige picked her Smackdown Live women’s team at Survivor Series and they are. Carmella, Naomi, Sonya Deville, Asuka and Charlotte Flair. After that, Mandy Rose came out and pretty much was disappointed that Sonya got picked and not her.

Mandy then went on to make fun of the participants excluding Charlotte and Mandy called out Naomi’s Husband Jimmy Uso which led to a brawl between Naomi and Mandy. I will say this, Mandy was pretty decent on the mic and if she kept on cutting promos like that, she might possibly be great on the microphone.

Samoa Joe vs Jeff Hardy

Okay match. By the end of the match, Jeff was aiming for a Swanton Bomb on Samoa Joe and Joe countered it into a kokina clutch which made Jeff tap out. After the match, Samoa Joe raised his hands out to Daniel Bryan on the outside which led to a brawl between Daniel and Joe and Miz broke that up which made Daniel throw hands on Miz and Shane tried to separate Daniel Bryan but instead did a judo throw to Shane. Whatever.

WWE Extreme Rules 2019 | My Coherent Review.

Man, I'm impressed with WWE in terms of PPVs as of late because overall, this was a fantastic show in my opinion with great matches but the crowd was dead for most of the show so that sucks.  I finally watched the pre-show match between Finn Balor and Shinsuke Nakamura before I went to bed because the show aired at 2 am where I live and it was okay.  By the way, how interesting is it when on last year’s Extreme Rules show, Shinsuke Nakamura won the United States championship and now this year’s show, he won the intercontinental title. Also, it's funny that the intercontinental championship was the main event on last's year show and on this year's Extreme Rules PPV, it's on the preshow.  Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre vs Roman Reigns and The Undertaker.  Mike Rome did better in announcing "The Best In the world" this time than on RAW. Mike Rome's announcement a few weeks ago sounded like that one friend that thinks he/she knows how to ...

NXT Takeover: In Your House 2020 | A Coherent Review.

NXT Takeover: In Your House is like the rest of the Takeover shows, a fantastic 2 hours of professional wrestling.  What makes this show special is the additional nostalgia like how the show started with the NXT WWF inspired intro, the ice cream commercial narrated by William Regal doing his best Lord Alferd Hayes impression, icopro commercial and last but not least, Todd Pettengill.  This is a show that I'm definitely rewatching in years to come.  Mia Yim, Tegan Nox And Shotzi Blackheart vs Raquel Gonzalez, Candice LeRae And Dakota Kai.  A decent opening match. During the match, Nox did a Molly Holly top rope on to every competitor in the match.  Yim tried to give LeRae some Seoul Food but LeRae reversed that into a suplex. Several minutes later, Shotzi did a Salida Del Sol of some sort on Gonzalez to which Nox delivered the shiniest wizard on Kai and won the match.  Finn Balor vs Damian Priest. I actually thought that the closing mo...

The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Holy Sh*t, The Revival Are All Elite, Matt Riddle vs Timothy Thatcher In A Unique Steel Cage Match.

Both shows had its weak points but overall, that was an enjoyable 4 hours of professional wrestling television. I personally liked AEW Dynamite this week.  From an awesome women's match with Shida and Christi Jaynes to The Revival showing up, AEW managed to give me a solid episode and successfully furthered their storylines to next week's exciting show.  NXT   Highlights (at least in my opinion because wrestling is subjective).  Kushida vs Drake Maverick vs Jake Atlas. Triple Threat Match Interim Cruiserweight Championship Tournament.  What a way to kick off this episode of NXT, am I right? Atlas delivered the rainbow DDT but Kushida broke Jake's pin.  Speaking of Kushida, he nailed the armbar submission, however, Drake pinned Atlas because Atlas' shoulders were on the mat and will meet El Hijo Del Fantasma for the finals next week.  I don't know if Drake is rehired or he's going to be rehired but Maverick has a big ta...
