WWE RAW 5/11/18 | My Coherent Review.

The first RAW of November 2018 and as usual, it sucked. Why you ask? Well, I’m gonna tell you what’s good, what’s ok and what’s bad. Here we go.

WHAT’S BAD

Sasha Banks, Bayley and Natalya vs The Riott Squad

Sasha and Bayley comfort Natalya as The Riott Squad make their exit.
Look, I just wanna get this out of the way. Not only the match itself felt very similar to last week's match but the ending made NO SENSE whatsoever. If you don’t know what I’m talking about pretty much by the end of the match, Natalya did the sharpshooter to Sarah Logan and then Ruby Riott grabbed Jim NeidHart’s glasses and broke it which made Natalya cry. I mean, who won this match? Was it the Riott Squad or the team of Sasha Banks, Bayley and Natalya? Sadly, just like the whole “Who threw the pie at Kevin Owens’ face?” We will never know.

Nia Jax vs Ember Moon and Finn Balor vs Bobby Lashley

Why do those matches exist again? I put those matches in one post because just like the 6 women tag match, the matches felt way too similar to the previous matches in the sense that they’re average at best and I get that this is a 3 hour show and you need to do something in that timeframe but it is frustrating as a viewer to see the same matches with a similar outcome over and over again. I like the new turn of character that Bobby Lashley is portraying but you’re not gonna make me care about him as a character if you have him face the same person for the past weeks.

WHAT’S OK

The opening segment

... and chases Corbin out of the squared circle and up the ramp!
This was an okay segment to start off RAW. Baron Corbin announced that he is team captain for RAW men's team even though he’s not going to compete in the actual match. He then picked three members of team RAW so far and they are Dolph Ziggler, Drew McIntyre and Braun Strowman.

Baron Corbin chose Alexa Bliss to be captain for RAW women’s team and she announced a six women tag match between Sasha Banks, Bayley and Natalya which you already know my opinions on it.

She declared the match to start now and she was interrupted by the former GM of RAW Kurt Angle. Kurt said that he lead his RAW team to victory last year and he wants to be part of Team RAW and Baron refused.

Kurt then wanted to face Baron and if he wins then he’s team RAW captain to which Corbin accepted. Corbin wanted Bliss to finish what she said and she was interrupted again. This time it was Braun Strowman and he wasted no time to brawl with the acting GM. Again, it was okay.

Apollo Crews vs Jinder Mahal

I can’t believe Jinder Mahal was the same person who won the WWE title and now a year later he’s misused on TV but at least Apollo got a somewhat big won. He won with the standing moonsault.

Ronda Rousey promo

I thought the promo was okay. Short and to the point. After that, Nia Jax came out to the ring and pretty much stated that she’s waiting for Ronda after Survivor Series. Whatever.

Elias vs Dolph Ziggler

Decent match. During the match, Elias did the knee strike that Kenny Omega does called the V trigger which doesn’t look as brutal compared to Kenny Omega. Elias then pushed Ziggler to the middle rope and delivered the drift away which gave him the W in this match.

WHAT’S GOOD

Drew McIntyre vs Kurt Angle

Now, this was supposed to be Kurt vs Baron but the reason why that match didn’t happen is that Baron took the limo and left to stay away from Braun Strowman. Now, the main reason why I liked this match was the finish and it fits considering that Drew is a heel (No shit, Omar). Drew won with the ankle lock.

AOP vs Seth Rollins for the RAW Tag Team Championship

WWE Photo
The match was pretty much AOP man handling Seth Rollins for most of the match but it was surprisingly entertaining. AOP won the match with a double team manoeuvre. In other words, they are the new RAW tag team champions. After that, Dean was lurking around the outside, came into the ring, said this “Do you wanna know why I did what I did?”, stared at Seth with Seth asking why and immediately hit the dirty deeds. This is the storyline that keeps me from watching this poorly booked show and I'm hoping that it gets better in the coming weeks.

WrestleFest DXB's Fahrenheit 971 | A Coherent W.

Being a fan of pro wrestling (or any other medium of entertainment) does have its pros and cons when engaging with the industry as a whole.  On one hand, you've witnessed an Eddie Kingston promo that'll make you tear up more than the opening scene of Up.  On the other hand, going to the wrestling subreddit will definitely have you questioning humanity as a whole and the fact that living in an area where a wrestling presence pretty much doesn't exist like a Vince Russo-written storyline that is, you know, GOOD!?  Luckily, the latter retracted my con as a fan because I'm talking about Wrestlefest DXB and their latest joint, "971 Fahrenheit".  Martin Bushby of now Post Wrestling Alumni brought the event to my attention because like a wrestler on an episode of RAW I get distracted all the time.  So, I decided to take a short journey to a taxi then a bus then a train then a 30-minute walk to the show itself and I know I'm going to sound biased as f**k but I l...

Let's Talk About The White Rabbit In The Room.

I haven't reviewed last year's show mainly because it was so good and clearly as extreme as any ECW match and I'm happy to tell all 3 of y'all that this one is better by several inches or so. Why? *slaps my bald head* HERE'S WHY. The opening match between Sheamus and Gunther's crew ruled harder than the Mongolian empire.  It was basically an enhanced version of Sheamus' match with Gunther last night on Smackdown and I loved it.  The Brawling Brutes' victory means one thing that is clearly obvious, a rematch between Sheamus and Gunther for the intercontinental championship aka the only series of rematches I don't mind.  Ronda Rousey and Liv Morgan delivered in what was a wrestling match equivalent to the X-Men Dark Phoenix movie.  While Bianca Belair and Bayley had their equivalent to the first Iron Man movie in that it was decent.  Drew McIntyre and Karrion Kross had an okay edition of the "Meaty men slapping meat".  That spear from Edge to...

A Few Thoughts On RAW And Smackdown: RAW wasn't GREAT!?

Since this blog will be less of a priority now considering I'm focusing on my podcast now (hit the 5 stars on Apple Podcast you sons of b*tches), I decided to share my few thoughts on RAW, Smackdown, I guess?  Smackdown.  The blue brand delivered yet another good episode this week and it's probably due to the fact that Braun Strowman taking out the Maximum Model is high-key funny as f**k.  The folks over at Titan Towers are bringing back the essence of their characters whether it's Kevin Owens, Shayna Baszler or in this case, Big Braun himself.   As a fan, you gotta love it, especially since in the case of Strowman, the dude hasn't been the same since he turned heel 4 years ago when feuding with Roman Reigns for the universal title.   Other noteworthy segments include Logan Paul challenging Roman Reigns for the big world universal multiverse galactic cinematic championship.  Imagine they pulled that match off 7 years ago back when Logan was on V...
